I think what Mr. Miyagi tried to teach Daniel, is that Karate isn't a tool, it is a way of life. He was like a father to him. I can't help but almost break down when I see them bow. at first when i saw ralph macchio, i thought he was a teen like 16, but when i found out he was 22 in 1984 in karate kid I, I didn't believe then he got married somewhere in 1987 before karate kid III, but he still look a teen going like 19 or 20, even today at 49, he looks like somewhere in the early mid 30's.. wow

Of course the remake wont be like the original 3 films - but it will begin to re-tell the story to a younger audience relating to a time they are growing up in. Even the story of Jesus is a remake of older 'hero' tales.

Really no debating KK part 3 is the worst of series (not counting the one with the girl in it). However, it's really not that bad of a movie overall. It just seemed bad because part 1 and 2 were so good. Writing part 3 had to be hard considering all the story lines had pretty much been used up in the first 2. Now, when talking about the one with the girl in it, The Next Karate Kid I think it's called, that really ruined the franchise for some people.
