I think in the book this takes place in the 60s or 70s, and the family was supposed to be liberated hippy types. That's why the parents partied with teenagers and let her boyfriend sleep over.
This is a special movie for me. In the end very sad...At the end I thought they would be reunited. David's father was wonderful: "It's hard to get over your first love." I had a first love too, David." A retired Catholic priest in Canada.
lol , them some sneaky ass teenagers . making it seem like he actually left . but give them their props. cause i know i wouldn't have the guts to do .
@Lu70sChild80sFan WHAT ROLE DID Ian Ziering play>? I watched this 100 times since I was a kid never noticed him! I looked like I was 15 when I was 27 LOL THAT RUINED a LOT for me in so many ways
He played 'Sammy', I believe he played the youngest child...Not sure if Jane was the youngest in the movie or not! In 'real life', I believe Ziering is older than Brook Shields! But yeah, you can kind of catch a glimpse of him sitting at the dinner table in the beginning of the movie, when they're all sitting there, going around the table, when the mother it talking about 'wine' lol! Before the first party they showed! It's a small clip, but he's very young looking!
@Lu70sChild80sFan wow thank you for that. I see him now. Ya know that sucks cause when I was 29 I had my first kid and everyone made faces at me even in the supermarket asking "WHY would u be pregnant at 17"?? I HATED IT but now trust me I do look my age which sucks LOL even more
Endless Love was a moderate blockbuster world wide. Brooke was very popular face worldwide as well to this day. I love this movie! Franco Zefferelli directed this which he also did the masterpiece movie ROMEO and JULIET-1968 blockbuster movie which he casted two beautiful faces-Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey.
i remember this film when i was 12 years old it was the first movie i ever saw without my mom and a friend and i asked a older person we knew to go in with us so we could get in!i also recall crying at the end because i wanted jade to really stay with david and love him as much as he did her....

My God the way David looks at her from the staircase. It's like they are the only two people in the room.

This is a very funky and gay scene of the movie. The girl singing is a geek. I'm surprised noone heckled her.

I talked with Martin Hewitt in 2010. He is a good actor and I love his voice. I let him know I am a fan. It was nice of him to talk with me.
