The original DC motors that IHC sold for these are really poor performers and a real pain to deal with. I have a few used ones if anyone wants to give them a try.
Motor used for this video was a Faller AC motor. These are geared to rotate at 4 or 15 rpms, depending on which gears are installed in the motor's gearhead.
I wasn't happy with this arrangement and have since switched to a Sayama DC motor. This allows me to run the carousel on batteries or transformer and to vary the speed.
