@MrVizionary2012 there are different keyswitches for doit, pow, stabs, trills, staccato, etc.Depending on the sound you want, you may want to checkout chirs hein or cinebrass, maybe even the new fanfar from sample logic, I haven't tried that one yet though it looks good.
@SoundsAndGear thanks man...I have been watching alot of your videos and they help me out alot...I would a music producer and would like to use these more so to make instrumentals than actual scoring, thank you very much...I am a little unfamiliar with keyswitches however do you mind explaining it a little please in terms of the articulations you listed above...thanks in advance.
@MrVizionary2012 basically a keyswitch means when you press a certain key on the keyboard it will change what articulation is being played in the instrument. They will change depending on the library but they are usually designated by a red color and will be explained in the documentation for any given library.
@robbertzzzzz yeah if you play sax, I'm sure you'll find plenty you don't like for sure. For those who don't have the skills to play, it's definitely a useful alternative.
@SoundsAndGear Very true. And the sax is a really difficult instrument to sample, I've never heard a really good sampled one. Even Sample Modeling's Mr Sax family doesn't come close to the real thing, even though that sounds really good for a sax sample.
But hey, this is a section library. The nice thing about that is that all the instruments fit together. And they were made to do just that. And that's why I'm probably gonna get this one, even though I've played in several horn sections...
@robbertzzzzz yeah, I was going to suggest Sample Modelling :) But like you said, this one was made to emulate the horn section, so for that it works well. For solos probably not so much, then again, depends on what you're trying to do of course. Thanks for the comment bro!
I got this Mojo Horns Section and it sounds Good when combining different horns together to play Parts as a Horn-Section or to play 2-Part Harmony Parts but don't buy this if you are looking to play individual Solo -Lines that sound Realistic as the samples are Sub-par at best but they do include a decent amount of Loops of actual Horn-Players playing Riffs that can be synced to your Tracks ( Tempo & Key ) but don't expect any John Coltrane Licks or Michael Breaker or David Sanborn .
These are pretty good but you should also check out Chris Heins brass which includes saxes as well. From the demos I've seen It would be a tough call between the 2. Enjoyed your demo though. I can appreciate the time it took to go through what you did cover. Thanks.
@system5guy chris hein has some amazing stuff, i've been familiar with his products since they were in akai format (old school lol) I agree, they have some really good stuff as well, thanks for the feedback
but does it have sustain? lol seriously, an awesome job man. You seriously sold me on it and Vir2 should hire you to do all of their reviews. You rock man and yes.. you DO sound a little like Denzel. :-)
Hey, I wanted to give you some feedback! I got my horns today from sweetwater and I am mot definitely impressed! For all those looking for horns that have a similar sound of a workstation (fantom, m3, or motif) for hip hop and dirty south tracks (zaytoven) - Mojo horns are the soft synth version of them AND SOME!! I had a hard time finding out so I figured I'd post! I took a $400 Leap of faith only to NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! Thanks ST. Joe for the recommendation!!
Hi I was just wanting to ask if I need to be able to play piano to use this plug-in? I have a midi guitar, as I am a guitar player, would this be able to work to get all of the different effects and modes?
@pickyricky1 I'm not sure how a midi guitar works, but I would imagine if it can send midi then it should work. I believe the midi guitar can send all the midi notes and cc data you need to do keyswitches or play the articulations and such. Sorry, I've never used a midi guitar.
for best sound and control of Solo Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, buy the products from samplemodeling. (i dont work there - i just work with it and it s the BEST believe me)
@r2d2rx they have some AWESOME stuff man, really good, definitely worth checking out, what they do is pretty cool! Even if you did work there, doesn't change the fact that the products are awesome lol.
My sincere apologies to Arturia. Mojo blows Brass out of the water for me but NOT because I think Brass sucks. Far from it, the Brass 2.0 trumpets (just like in ver 1 and 1.1) are terrific and overall I would rate the quality of the sounds of Mojo and Brass as being on par.
Maximizing Mojo's potential was just a whole lot easier....for me.
@mnaicck it's all good! that's why we have different products, people like different things! They both are useful in the right hands, you just happen to like Mojo a little better, nothing wrong with that.
In all honesty... they are good for two different things. If I need my music to sound like I have a horn section of 4 guys that are gettin DOWN.. i'm going to prefer mojo. That's what I happen to like, so that's what I personally prefer. But If i need a solo... i actually think Arturia Brass may have the upper hand.
greetings; i downloaded mojo. it came with part 1-5 pkgs. and the multi. But no install. but how do i install it into kontakt? is there another way? Can you PLEASE HELP ME.
@rockinrickp not sure, you should hit up their support. I just installed it with the installler, you can probably copy all the files into one folder and point kontakt to it.
This is hand down my favorite VST, I put this bad boy on legato and go to town. Excellent VST worth every penny :) your jazz tunes will never be the same.
the horns sound good - but i can hear the sample buffering/clicking. it's probably worth mentioning in your review that it is hitting your system pretty hard. other than that good job!
nah, that's not the instrument, it's my screen capture software. I'm runing kontakt, plus the screen recording software, streaming the audio into audacity lol.
When i'm just using the instrument by itself, it's amazing, it's not hard on the cpu at all...I imagine using the fx would make it tax a lil bit...but again, it's my laptop overloading with everything that's running lol.
If I load it up in ableton or whatever it's fine, it's camtasia that's using all my resources! It's a beast. lol
what type of computer do u have, i know its pc but just wondering

The sustain vibrato on the alto sax sounds really, really fake... I like the other alto sounds though.
But hey, I'm a sax player, why should I use this VST for nice sounding sax things?
This is really nice stuff, I think I'm gonna get it.

no, you can use the free kontakt player, it opens in any daw that can host vst or au plugins.
