I just got sent home from my exchange in Northeastern Japan. The media is so different here. I didn't have a lot of access before. But while I was in Japan, your videos really helped me a lot. I just wanted to say thank you. Take care!
...excuse me, but did you think who gave rights to japanese to empty their harmful water in our planet? is our ocean too, is our planet, is the future of our families..in the next 3 years we will drink only poison to have cancer after it around the world...and your thoughts are with japan??? i can say now my thoughts are against japan...
@rya41209 haha i guess that's to be expected. Megafisto, you should kick your salt water addiction. You know it's all contaminated now. Every last drop of it!
This disaster is heartbreaking. I'm searching for news about the disaster, and I found your vlog about Fukushima that you made about two years ago. It looks like it was a really beautiful place. I will keep Japan, your host family and friends in my prayers. God bless Japan during this tragedy.
As a Japan exchange student, you are performing a great honor with this video, spreading awareness of the tragedy in Japan and reassuring us that your friends there have survived. You might consider sponsoring a pledge drive to help the recovery effort. Since you are living close to Boston at RISD, you might want to see if any of the Boston Marathon runners are sponsoring such a drive and support them. Keep up the good work, Kat!
Saw your video on fukushima. Got to my heart when i remembered the wave erasing all those buildings that i could see through he lens of your camera. The worst will happen in a few hours i fear. The core will drop through the metl into the seewater. Then ou will have a much bigger explosion and fallout all over this beautiful place. Waht a shame.
I haven't yet gotten in contact with my host family but I'm getting more and more consoled since most seems to be good in Tokyo, but I still hope to get in contact with them. All my prayers are going towards Japan.
I have been praying so much for this. I have some friends over there but they are not in Tokyo but in Fukuoka so they are unaffected and I am thankful, but i will pray for the lost, and now also for the boy in Sendai that is an exchange student. I hope everything will be alright. I thought u were there too, and ive been following your videos for a long time now, and I did get very worried about my friends there. Then i though of ur videos and hurried to check youtube as fast as possible.
It is getting worse and worse. More quakes, nuclear plant exploded, another going to explode, etc.. My loved country suffering.. I wish I was there to help..
What pisses me off is when people bring up Pearl Harbor and how the Japanese deserve this. Those ignorant comments coming out of the mouth's of Americans makes me feel ashamed to be called an American. Best wishes and regards to the people in Japan. I hope the people will be found.
I so agree! Also, don't they know, not only Japanese people are in Japan. There are others from other countries, including America, who could/are hurt. I feel shame from those comments too.
how are you taking this? are you okay? Im taking this very hard i broke down today and i havent even been there so i just wanted to know how you are taking p.s God bless veryone suffering in Japan!
considering amount of time, "level" of the quake and the force of the resulting tsunami its amazing the death toll and missing persons number although unofficial isn't higher.. its a credit to the country's disaster prevention/evacuation practice. makes me wonder why we in the states don't do the same especially with the results of San Fran and New Orleans.. I don't think i've taken part in any type of evacuation drill since high school
I'm worried about my host family, they are on the coast line of Hokkaido so they were probably hit by the tsunami... I have not been able to get in touch with them
I'm glad to hear that your host family(s) and friends are safe, and I pray that boy is found... Actually I pray for all of the people in Japan.
Japan has a special place in my heart, and I couldn't help but watch hours of news on the situation. This has been the first time I've donated to any organization.
This is a global effort, but I'm happy that the U.S. is lending a hand right away for them. The past is behind us. It's time to strengthen relationships and show compassion for the human race. We're in this together.
I am glad to hear that everything is well with your host family. My mothers family is in Kyoto and the Kansai region so they were fine, they did feel the shake though. My thoughts are with the folks in that area, and my condolences to those who lost family members.
I have friends in Northern Japan (Hachinoe, Aomori area). They lost their water, gas, and electricity but fortunately there was no tsunami damage. The Japanese are prepared for earthquakes, but no amount of preparation can stop a tsunami (which is what will be the ultimate cause of so much death).
I lived in Japan for 4 yrs. Watching it get washed away or go up in flames is so heart breaking. I wonder how many areas I knew & visited have disappeared forever. :(
Thanks for your concern about those suffering people. I appreciate it.
I live in Hachioji, Tokyo, and even it is far away from the hypocenter, the earthquake was definitely the biggest of I have ever experienced in my life of 19 years. And they said an earthquake like such could occur in 500~1000 years.
I am hoping no more people will be found dead, and that soon it will get better.
damn its been 8 months already! feels like just yesturday i heard this news on tv
