@mudpuppy61 you can do it both way ways, in fact any deforming you can do wet or leatherhard. In certain cases it is convenient to do it in the wet stage first, and then do it again to true it up when it is a little harder at leatherhard stage. SL
Quite a useful tip you gave in this video since I can be quite clumsy with my pottery at times!
There is a forgotten bisqued pot in the studio where I go to do my pottery, it has quite a thick base and whoever made it squared the base with a wire but didn't square the whole side, might be a fun thing to try!
hi . The corner at the base, there is usually a heel of clay that one can steal a little from & no one knows !....its usually the same hardness as the rest of the pot or slightly softer. Sure take from the bag if you prefer.
Cricket Simon! Summer must be coming on in Spain. Not cricket weather here though. Unusually it's raining here in Central Victoria, Australia (8 years of drought).
Simon - my mentor squares his pots up while they're still wet on the wheel. Do you ever do your's this way?

Hi Simon. Interesting tip about the patch. I was curious if there's a reason to use clay from the bottom rather than from the bag.

Thanks for another great tip. I think you should do the wood ash glaze with scraffito. Then package it up and send it to me.

Sorry, left my comment in the wrong space. What does the paddling do to the bottom of the pot? I would think it may cause some issues. Thanks!

Gives an angle back there ,where the undercut was / is which gets lost when you paddle the pot. SL
