  • This is one of the best renditions of this piece I've heard. Absolutely stunning.

  • THE BEST! together with kiri te kanawa and renee fleming... they are both amazing! not callas in this one.. lets be honest!

  • BRAVOOO

  • bellissima

  • The vest version is from Montserrat Caballe, try to listen it....

  • This aria is so difficult! :-S Does she remind anyone else slightly of Marissa Tomei?

  • Depuis le jour is only for Renee Fleming and maybe for Kiri Te Kanawa.

  • Melopea: Por supuesto nó alcanza la intensidad de Reneé Fleming.-

  • Really beautiful.BRAVA

  • There was a time when she sang this like a dream, in tune, raw and beautiful, imperfect diction and all. Not everything is always so negative, commentators.

  • Angela have e beautifull voice, I like , Brava.

  • This is pretty bad. Her intonation is awful, bad phrasing and she is cutting off notes in what is supposed to a lyrical piece.

  • Do you have any f**king idea how hard it is to sing a program of arias which require different sensibility and style? I think she does fine all things considered.

  • Am I an opera singer? No. But as a classically trained musician, I know when something sounds rough and isn't in tune. I see you haven't refuted my actual critique though. She's a pro though, so of course she does fine. Check out Anna Moffo's version of this......

  • This is a very challenging aria, do not forget that performers are human. We can not have the best performance of our lives every evening.

  • this performance was luck.

  • dont sing this aria if its not perfected.

  • grow up!

  • well, if you don't like... why you coment? Just show my dear? Appearing to "lose time" with it? Give me a break ...

  • The first day of love....

    Beautiful. Hans NL.

  • Although I know nothing about scores in a professional way, I must agree with you! She sounds gorgeous and sings this aria very softly and subtly! I personally really really like her timbre and the unusual beauty of her voice! And I like her because she admires the great Virginia so much! She recognizes her artistry!

  • You are right, and she is flat and sharp in the same piece, which overall spells this word... MESS

  • I dont need to dear, and you know exactly what i mean. This is a mess of off pitch singing, too many bad pitches to even know where to begin.. good lord.. Do you call this a grammy award winning performance? This is not a performance worthy of a woman who calls herself a professional. Its AWFUL. Everywhere awful. Hows that?

  • You are hopeless if you cannot hear her obvious flaws. She is not in tune. Not even close.

  • Definitely not one of her best performances. Her high notes are not resonating at all.

Brava!!!!

  • ha ha ha ha. I can see you now (both of you) sitting in front of your computers, with no talents of your own. You are like the fat ,lazy, nerds criticizing the actions of an athlete despite their own inabilities. Get a life. Music is music. enjoy it.

Congrats, your ridiculous comments have inspired my first, ever. I hope it is my last.

I look forward to any videos you wish to post of your own performances.

  • I agree with you each big artist is different and there are a lot of them. Enjoy this music and the possibility of hear all these incredible singers.

  • @erenick what music? older singers did do it... jerk!

  • Eat your shit kgarmaker123, cause Angela is actually the best diva, the best voice and you... you are nothing.

  • Out of tune and bad diction.

  • I just got skewered on making a comment about her pitch on Casta Diva.. and its about as bad as it is here. She is not in tune. Pitty the woman cannot hear it.

  • Just as I thought! Condemning a performer as "out-of-tune" is one of those cheap, nonsensical put-downs that the ignorant use when they probably don't even know the pitch-names...shame on you both!

  • Oh I know the pitch names, dear. I know them well. now take it for what it is, she is flat.

  • You know the pitch names? Then perhaps you can circumvent Sesame Street and advance to Chapter-and-Verse:

your scurrilously denigrating claims demand substantiation. The performer and her audience deserve at least a brief inventory of which pitches from which passages are "out-of-tune." Without specifics, your critique signifies nothing but the ravings of an idiot.

  • Go to hell! I know it when I hear out of tune singing,.. for instance the first A in the run.. is flat, so are many of the others, and in the second verse, much the same. I have the music.. I follow it, I read it, and you are not my teacher, I do not need examination. She is FLAT FLAT and more FLAT. And she is a lousy Norma. Thats all.

  • Tsk tsk...how sad..if your musical knowledge weren't so pathetic it might be laughable. I understand why you "do not need examination," because you have not yet begun to study! However, if your citation of "the first A in the run" is to be taken seriously, you should at least give a measure number (you "have the music," right?), or even the timing beneath the YouTube clip would suffice. Meanwhile, you'd better not give up your day job (if you have one!).

  • There you go again! All of your blustering vitriol sadly proves my original point that baselessly declaring a performance "out-of-tune" is so often a refuge for ignorant bullies. You seem to fancy yourself an authority, but cannot substantiate your claims because you are obviously illiterate. Even some fools eventually realize that resorting to monotonous repetitions of nonsense is rather silly. Fecal matter plus more of same merely equals a bigger pile of turds. Consider enrolling in preschool.

  • The only one of us who is full of turds, is you, because at least two differernt people on this aria have heard her flat singing, and i have checked out her other vids as well, and it is acommon complaint about this woman. I have a CD of hers at home, a recital, and I have heard her complete Traviata, and she is flat flat flat flat all over the place.. I am not going to mark it down like an exam. The woman has faulty technique and bad ears. and so do you.

  • The only flatness here is your brain flatulence. Whatever begat your ill- tempered arrogance also grotesquely distorted your pitch perception. Better not apply for conservatory admission...you are probably even beyond the aid of an audiologist. In fact, your case may be hopeless: a toxic combination of ignorance, tone-deafness, and vicious megalomania. My original statement remains: "No, she is not flat!"

  • Thank you, babbuino caro, for your fatuous indulgence despite a superfluity

    of faux ennui.

  • Miauuuuuuuuuuuu, miauuuuuuuuuuuu my cat is much better

  • Love AG, but this is not one of her best performances.

  • Not bad

  • my favorite opera song; listened to it many times, know nothing about music formally, but each person does the best they can, no anger if it's not the best version I've heard, no need to shoot anyone; me, I love the dress which changes color near the end.

  • Very beautiful.

  • Andante735 needs help, presto.

  • really excellent. i love work this aria more later, beautiful version... thanks for this
