  • Is the Bounty Hunter TK4-PL Tracker IV Metal Detector ok cuz im not rich ;)

  • seems like I find harmonica reeds at every old house site----guess it was popular musical item and was given for presents at birthdays, christmas, etc.

  • @micmoable oh yea, back in the day everyone had harmonicas. even soldiers in the CW had harmonicas

  • THING YOU CALLED A BALL BUTTON=CROTAL BELL I believe------looks like you had a good hunt there---bravo

  • @micmoable i wish.. ive never dug a crotal bell. it is a zouve ball button. google it.

  • @nuggetnoggin thanks---I just thought it was a crotal bell but I'm not an authority on such finds---you seem to be searching a really good area of America--by the way, which part of U.S. are you searching in? You told me awhile back but I can't recall the area--looks like good area though

  • What kind of metal detector do you use?

  • @98thawk Fisher F75

  • Wondering why the axe head was in your trash pile? Found one that looks very much like it and it was a union issued hatchet head. Is there no value in them? Great videos I love watching to see what you find...

    NC Lisa

  • @Crazytrojan21 i find hundreds of axes.. not worth much.. it wasnt that old early 1900s

  • Great hunting

  • Just some info for you, buttons and nuts are never made of lead, its too heavy and too soft. Lead is usually only used in things that need weight, like sinkers and musket balls. That Art Nouveau handle is very, very cool!!

  • @Stillwater900 well your wrong they did to make some nuts out of lead, i have found many of them, probably around 8. and some are threaded.. but you are right i dont think i have ever seen a button made out of lead, in this video i found a pewter button, they made older 1800's buttons out of pewter, brass as well., same with spoons and forks were pewter too. not always true i have seen a lead toys, there was all kinds of lead soldier toys made and i seen some old lead cars. ..

  • That dresser handle looks Art Nouveau, which was 1890-1910. Its very nice!

  • what kind of detector do you use and how much was it

  • @xXDarkWolfXx961 I was using a Fisher F75, i got it farily new for $475 but thats a hard deal to get.. the new retail price for the F75 orginal is $1029. i got my F75 at a gold show from Clyde .

  • @nuggetnoggin what would you recommend for a person new to this hobby

  • @xXDarkWolfXx961 depends on your budget, but you need to start out with a basic easy to use metal detector, either a Garrett ACE 250($212) , Garrett ACE 350 or Fisher F2 (200 range) would be good detectors for starting the hobby, the 350 cost a little more but i can't remember the price. how about you go to kellycodetectors . com and click garrett and fisher and check out there metal detectors they sell. i had an ACE 250 as a beginner machine. it's great, easy to use and light weight.

  • @nuggetnoggin thankyou i am going to buy a garrett ace 250 later on My dad just walked in the door with a quick silver bounty hunter i thing

  • @nuggetnoggin Have you ever heard of a Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger? Know if they are any good?

  • @Stillwater900 yep i sure have, i have never used one, good for gold prospecting but i would reccomend the AT GOLD over the gold scorpion. at gold comes out in october to purchase.

  • Ya, You had me going their too, about rimfire casings, I sure didnt know they had them in the civil war Good find guys.

  • ok cool

  • all ok well i just went by the firearms they used back then i hadnt really notice they used shell casing on some firearms i know they used the sharps rifles and the colt cap and ball revolvers

  • by the way in the civil war they do not use shell casing they only use the musket ball and gun powder and ramrods they only shoot blackpwder firearms back then

  • @bluejay148 actually they did have shell casings in the Civil War, for example they had Spencer and Henry shell casings. your thinking about older wars. and no they shot more then musket balls they shot 3 ring minie balls, .69 caliber bullets and there likes 100's of different CW bullets used. go read a few CW books then comment back ok.

  • @bluejay148 they started using them alot during the end of the Civil War.

  • The thing that you said may have been a part of a dresser I believe is part of an ornamental part of a hair clip. A woman would put her hair up and then insert a hair pin throught that metal piece to hold her hair in place. You see those things a lot in old photos from the 1800s.

  • @asimov13647 could be that too

  • Great fine guys!
