Nobody is better than anybody, true Liam Teague is great, the compostion was fierce and his movements are definitley a work of art but that doesnt mean hes the best, I feel every pan composer, arranger, band member or just a plain player is good. But it takes greatness to master ones own style. Even said that nobody is better than anybody. Sooner or later a new prodigy or talent will rise....will you think they are better?
You reckon so? Definitely one of. But -THE BEST- is debatable. I think Othello Molineaux could be arguably better, as I find Othello a more varied improvisor. But Liam Teague is certainly an incredible player and has a mind for beautiful pan and has opened up the world of 'classical' music on pans. If you consider being a pan artist in it's wider context, though, you get people like Andy Narrel and Len Boogsie Sharpe thrown into the mix... Then its hard to pick the best xD
Show the rest of the video. The interview partner who's going back to T&T learning to play with Ray and Starlift - an elderly and absolute beginner who's starting with a Panorama tune! I guess THAT is the amazing thing of the whole video - Music does not know age!
Mike Mangini should get really good at pan and play some in a Dream Theater song!!
