Stay away from ccleaner registry fixes. I managed to break a number of programs because of it. I had to restore my registry to fix the program.

The registry cleaner sometimes "fixes" unknown file extensions that are actually in use with games that have mods or programs that use their own file extensions.

In my case it deleted a whole hose of extensions out of the registry and a few of my games stopped working.

I would just use the ccleaner option to free disk space by removing junk files.

@jonnieeo In my case I did a backup before hand. When you export the registry, you can just double click om it and it will restore. On the other hand I think you can do a windows repair to fix the registry. However when it comes to this sort of stuff I would use Windows Backup (just in case you want to go back) followed by backing up all the data from programs and games. Then reinstall windows cleanly, install the programs then copy the data back into the folders of the programs and games.

@jonnieeo uh this might be weird but...I clicked the restore option and that worked for me.And for some odd reasons windows 7 makes automatic restore points which kinda helped lol.In fact i didnt think i even bacaked up my files...they were still there after restoring.BUT you might wanna use an ipod or zune to store your data on for backup.

Always backup your registry before you mess with it. And CCLEANER is notorious for screwing up a computer's registry if you do not know what you are doing. That backup can save your rear!

Now for the most part that program is nice, but know what you are doing before you touch your registry!!!!

Downloaded this tonight after my backup program said there were registry errors; found 100s of problems, however be aware that clicking the button labeled "fix all selected problems" does NOT just fix the SELECTED ones but every one on the list. If you want to go slow you have to do one fix at a time. Make sure you back up the registry first. Computer seems OK after this, so far. Just thought I'd put this out there for those needing info on this. Download was free. Good luck.
