  • Ah talent like this so rare, the playing, the soul that went into it. To be able to play like that and then listen to his voice as well. Saw him once one of best shows ever back in Chicago...

  • He's not just a joke hippiman, he's a nut. Don't encourage him. He will just keep reponding with BS.

  • because of SRV and YouTube, i cant enjoy my old favorites like Pink Floyd and Zeppelin. SRV live blows away everything!

  • master

  • if i could bend like that.... GOD HE IS AMAZING

  • This is an amazing cut...

  • Stevie just played everything so much more confiedent and stronger live.. His live recording are the best!!! And thats what the blues is all about. Be able to put on a good live performance and feed off the crowds energy.. Every note that He struck meant something.. Just like every word He was singing..

  • Doesn't get much better than this ! The notes cut right through you. Beautiful ... !

  • Only ONE Stevie Ray !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • amazing version. no lie.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this! Every single time I listen to him play I still have the same feeling that he was a GIFTED guitar player & is deeply missed by so many people. That UNIQUE sound he had with those strings. I never get tired of listening to his music. Thank you for this.

  • you cant beat quality

  • this is from his performance at Carnegie hall, i forgot the date though

  • Thank you. So, the date would be October 4th, 1984. Just a few days after his thirtieth birthday, I do believe. Thanks again, man.

  • @redbirdfan126 1 day to be precise

  • @jonno63 Thank You; much obliged.

  • @SoulGuitarrist I still have my ticket stub it was definitely 10/4/84

  • This is how music should soundfrom the soul. All music should be true and from the soul regardless of the type of music it is. Most of todays music is crap and there is no real feeling in it. It is produced on some computer and mixed so the Artist do not really have to have any talent. Long live true artist like SRV. Thanks for posting.

  • @1972Zane

Music should sound cold and industrialized. Robotic, even. Music today is so organic and passionate. Death to the artists of the world. Death to the soul.

  • @mrbunghole wow man your opinion really......... SUCKS! this is real music not the crap you listen to. how can you be such a retard?

  • @zeppelin1996 lol. I was joking about everything I said.

  • @tony9L9L Because, ya know, he couldn't play circles around Hendrix, or ANY other guitarist or anything.

The man shits all over Hendrix, Clapton, Jimmie Vaughan, and every fucking other guitarist on the face of this planet.

  • @HoleHeadedLiar You are deaf and probably blind to. You leak milk all over your computer you lactating hermaphrodite, stop talking shit and listen to some real music you limping mook.

  • @tony9L9L Your a joke.

  • @hippieman1026 Stevie was Mr Unoriginality (even his own biographer admitted it) he added NOTHING to music and was one of the main reasons why blues music became so uncool and unfashionable. You must admit his music has dated very badly? I think its sad watching a performer so unsure of himself and so riddled with gimmicks. He is like a pastiche of a guitar player- a tribute act, nothing more.

  • @tony9L9L Let's hear you play something like this. So what if he unoriginal that doesn't mean anything. Not every one has to be a hipster. Blues didn't become so "uncool" because of one person blues became unpopular because of people like you who have to point out the obvious. And if he was a tribute act then how come he didn't just cover? Life by the drop was nothing like Hendrix. Hendrix grew far from blues. Srv didn't. Go away you Metal head.

  • @hippieman1026 Any 8 year old child could play like this. I presume you have fried what brain cells you were born with and cant see the fancy dress tribute act for what it is. Oh and Im not into metal at all, I prefer Jeff Beck, Chet Atkins, Tommy Emanuel or of course the Seattle maestro- Jimi Hendrix- you should check them out and stop listening to pale imitations.

  • @tony9L9L Just because of how he dresses doesn't mean shit. Get off of this vid man. All you do is link around and bash peoples music. You have no videos of anything. Just a picture get a life stop thinking every one steals every thing. And yeah I know most of those musicians just because you don't like Srv because you think he's stealing styles and he didn't his style was very different from most blues guitarist. I called you a metal head because that's what you're acting like.

  • @hippieman1026 I find this pretty funny though ;)

  • @hippieman1026 I apologise for voicing my opinion, I apologise for taking advantage of the freedom of expression that youtube allows and i apologise for frustrating you with a balanced defence of my perspectives on the lactating hermaphrodite that is Stevie gay Vaughan.

Im sorry for making you squirm and wince and for making you feel submissive and small. I feel bad that i enjoyed your impotent protestations like a lamb bleating in a storm drain. Forgive me Cleetus?

  • @tony9L9L You're forgiven for not knowing where to put your opinions. :) and lmao my name's not "Cleetus" Lol. I never felt submissive you just apologized you're the submissive one. :)

  • @tony9L9L So I stand by my statement you're a joke. ;)

  • @hippieman1026 you wince you mince you pontificate you spread disease you are a latating hermaphrodite, a sockless milky gender non-specific lemony scented weak boy. so what

  • @tony9L9L I'm usually am sockless, so what. And like I said before I'm standing by my statement, you're a joke.

  • @mrbunghole are you stupid or what?

  • @mrbunghole You must be a Nine Inch Nails fan: but, as a fellow NIN fan and Rivethead, I'll tell you that you are missing something: you can quantize the hell out of everything else, but the vocals have got to remain human, and imperfect.

Stevie Ray could play with amazing accuracy, he was very close to quantization naturally (see Testify, Rude Mood; via Texas Flood) but his vocals were human and imperfect, as they should be.

  • @HoleHeadedLiar I'm not a Nine Inch Nails fan. I think what I dislike so much about NIN is their lack of organic sound. They sound machine-like. I was joking about what I said. Beavers up!

  • @1972Zane you are so right, and i have said the same thing many a times, on here and to people i talk to in blues clubs, thank god i grew up when i did, learned a love of the blues early on and started playin the harp in 69, and 42 years later still am and striving to keep the blues alive wherever i play

  • So Soulful!

  • You will always be missed and remembered Stevie
