No, it will not affect your children. CP is not a disease, and it's not genetic. It's no more likely to be inherited than a broken arm.

You're right, this is NOT CP! CP is damage to the young nervous system that happens before birth or shortly thereafter. Really, they should do some research before posting such misinformation! A brain tumor and CP are two completely different things!

Not CP., 9 years of age is too old to be diagnosed. A brain tumor is very different than brain damage caused by CP. CP is a condition not a disease.

Oh my god...MAYBE you can be diagnosed at 3 years old (at the oldest) as a result of a drowning however at the age of 9 this no longer classified as CP. Not that she even has the same type of brain damage.

I have CP and my presentation is nothing like hers. As well CP is NOT a DISEASE. This video is so stupid...

This young woman had a brain tumor.

That caused the hemiplegia. I agree with the posters who are saying WTF about this--the symptoms are similar to some cases of CP, but this woman's disability "cause" was that brain tumor.

I have CP w/ spastic (meaning tightness) diplegia (two legs) It isn't a disease. It's a neurological disorder that affects the way the neurons are sent to the muscles. No offense. I'm sure the guest may have CP-like symptoms, but it's highly unlikely for someone to DEVELOP CP so much later.

The host had no idea the girl had CP until she showed up- never even mentioned it on her application to be on the show. It was the GUEST and her MOTHER who told the host that the girl had CP.

If someone comes to your video shoot in a wheelchair and 4 family members with her and told you and your crew of 10 that they have CP that is what you will think too. No homework needed.

Then the show shouldn't have been aired, period. It should not be up on Youtube for the entire world to see. If you're going to do a show on cerebral palsy, at least get some of the most basic facts about it first. Start with the fact that CP is NOT a disease! All this video did was spread more or the misconceptions and ignorance that many people with CP have to endure on a daily basis.

I know that a brain tumor is not CP, as my mother has a pituitary brain tumor and has had 3 brain surgeries. Gabby Castaneda's mother came with her to the video shoot and todl me she had CP- so that is the info I have to go on.

I am fine with CP and I am leading disability consultant but a brain tumor is not CP, you can not have CP at 9 years. Her speech patterns are that of an head injury or trumor NOT cp which is more slurred. I know about CP and meet 1000s of people with cp and this is not cp!

As unfortunate as Miss Castaneda's situation is, I have to say that she should at least be happy that she knows WHY she hasn't been attracting men like other women have. Her bad luck is strictly medically induced, something I wish I could put the blame on myself. I'm in near perfect health, and I've got most of the traits that should make me a veritable chick magnet, and yet I'm not.

At least YOU can have peace of mind. *lol*
