Someone mistook music weapon in M7. Basara just sing a song from his heart to other ones including the protodevlins..and yeah, in Basara's point of view, there's no enemy, but there's only people who not recognised the power of music&peace&love! so, he have to let ppl know the meaning of things. And just becoz he could manipulate song energy doesn't mean it would harm anyone (and never it will), it's just Protodevlins feartruth of music and never realize that they themselves could sing, too!

Macross 7 is a weird chapter in the series. I loved the music. I loved seeing old characters. The giant super space monster and magic music power aspect of it ruined it for me however. Even Macross Frontier takes the music as weapon a little too far, but not as far as Macross 7. If you try to ignore the Basara music weapon stuff in Macross 7 the remaining stuff is actually good.

No I hated M7 because they took the idea of music is the weapon a little too literally. The music itself is awesome as hell I just couldn't get around that plot point. A mecha powered by Courage..sure. A mecha that gets bigger then more pissed you get until it uses galaxies like shuriken? That's stretches it but still barely acceptable die to sheer awesome. Killing someone because they played a power ballad with supporting vocals? What did you smoke?

What can I say this probably my favorite song of Yoshiki Fukuyama. This song has enabled me to cope through very hard times and find a meaning and sense to personal trails and events. Yoshiki YOU RULE. May your songs trascend time and space and reach those who seek hope and joy in life!!.

@Shadowisdead I loved Macross 7 as well but I think my biggest complaints were the low quality of animation. This is primarily seen in the amount of repeated scenes it uses. Of course this doesn't detract from the overall message, but for many people, it destroys it. Also, if you don't like the music, you can't like the show. Still one of my favorites, though. :D FIRE!
