To see children care for justice then our world has hope......If they don't care then who will....I think this is absolutely wonderful and this is education responsibility since young age. Hope the older generation will move on and be replace with these children soon. I'm sure the world will be a much more just and peaceful place : ) Shame on you adults with hatred!
@rossinibkk Thank you, Rossinibkk! It's a big responsibility to cultivate a child's commitment to justice. I think it's instinctual to want justice, but it's society's (and a family's) responsibility to reinforce and develop that instinct, so that it develops into something strong and beautiful.
"O Son of Spirit! The best beloved of all things in My sight is Justice. Turn not away therefrom if thou desirest Me, and neglect it not that I may confide in thee. By its aid thou shalt see with thine own eyes and not the eyes of others, and shalt know of thine own knowledge and not the knowledge of thy neighbor. Ponder this in thy hear, how it behooveth thee to be. Verily justice is My gift to thee, and the sign of My loving kindness. Set it then before thine eyes." from Baha'u'llah
Baha'u'llah has a solution for this..It just gonna take some time for the world to realize the truth..I have to say Georgia really deserve a place in the kingdom of god..send my regards to her..God bless you and your family..
Bahais are the most peaceful people on earth. They respect all other religions and do no harm to any people. Yet, they get persecuted in Islamic countries like Egypt and Iran by the followers of so-called "Religion of Peace"!!!
To all my Bahai brothers and sisters, the entire world is with you.
Children raised in Bahai households in America and Canada are under tremendous burdens, especially with America's failing economy. Any organized religion is going to have wealthy ambitious people exploiting desperate people and subjecting their children to abuse. You Bahais in America have no proof of being anything better than modern christians or muslims, especially with your insane parental consent laws.
Nothing against children supporting each other internationally, but I really feel as though the poster should consider the reality of children in Bahai family in America suffering at least as bad as the Bahais in Iran.
Bahais are not Zionists, they just happen to have their world center in Israel orPalestine whatever you want to call what Bahais call "The Holy Land". Although Bahais may fully appreciate the safety of their world center from hostile forces by the IDF, they are not responsible nor do they encourage Israel's human rights violations.
I'm a muslim but learning about the Baha'i faith. I can understand why the people in Iran are acting this way towards Baha'i people. It's the association of prophets and other names with god according to Islam. This is a serious offense for them and that they don't tolerate. I also understand the Baha'i faith and how they may conflict with one another. Respect towards other faiths and the children should be a priority. No religious teachings should be present in any public school.
@cameronmoj ..... where is Baha'i grave ??? Jews acceptance of Bahai Faith
Although Bahá'u'lláh's writings addressed Christians more than any other non-Muslim religious groups and addressed them at an earlier date, but it were the Jews who accepted the Bahai Faith more than any other religious groups. The Bahai Gardens in Haifa and Ako
Jewish acceptance movement began in Hamadan around 1877, and by 1884
What a lovely video. raising awareness about the plight of Baha'i children in Iran. Authorities in Iran want to eliminate the Faith by targeting the community, including the children, in different ways. However, their behaviour only serves to make people hate their actions more and increases sympathy for the Baha'is internationally. After all persecuting little children, imprisoning, torturing and killing people because of their faith does not represent the very best of human behaviour does it!
look at iran, what a country they once were, first human rights charter and islam destroyed that country to the core to the extent that they dont even offer education to non muslim children today shame on iran and iranian people for letting thr society crumble the way they did
Nice video.but the fact is that the barbaric terrorist regime in Iran is not only prosecuting the bahais ,everyone who does not agree with their barbaric murderous corrupt rule.they murder, torture to death, mutilate peaceful demonstrators.the good news is that they lost all credibility among all iranians, except for their paid agents.
@Mahdavi1990 Thank you, that's very kind! She has always loved going to school and therefore I think she sympathizes with children who run into opposition doing something so basic.
This view of the Baha'i Faith as somehow connected to Zionism is, I'm pretty sure, a construct of Iranian propaganda. It's true that Baha'i holy places and administrative offices are in modern-day Israel. The reason is that in the 1860's, the Persian Shah and the Ottoman Emperor agreed to exile Baha'u'llah to Palestine, where He was a prisoner -- that is, unable to move of his own choice -- until His death in 1892. Whereupon His resting place became the holiest place on Earth for Baha'is.
The question of whether we -- Georgia's parents -- are exploiting her for our own activism is a very important one.
But again, the words are her own -- nobody wrote them for her -- and she and her 10-year-old cousin were the one who wanted to post a video on YouTube. After all, she is a child of the Internet age, and I've heard, "anything invented before you were born is not technology."
A book related to the subject is "Free Range Kids", by Lenore Skenazy -- challenging and controversial.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
is it realy her words? what do a 8 year old girle know about politics ? nothing ,thats right YOU have programd her to say it .anyway you have no plase in iran
ok if you dont belive me then go on the streets of iran and say that you are a bahai ,lool you be in prison in no time.thats why i say you have no plase in my islamic iran.stay in israel
@AMIRsarkari, ew, that's a horrible thing to say, persecution of any people is unjust and wrong, and to say something like that is ignorant and savage, comments like that tell people a lot abouts one's character and reasoning, watch out bud.
bahai faith is not a cult. it is a region like other religions. it says that all religions are from god and they came at different times to guide mankind towards an ever advancing civilization. bahaullah is the last one of this chain of religions from god. there will also be other prophets and religions from god in future just like bahaullah, jesus, budha, etc. as human beings, we are alwaus in need of gods guidances. at each age, our situations change and with that god sends new messengers.
@AMIRsarkari I am Iranian death to you and your god(khamenei) death to dictator We are victor Green Iran Free Iran Free children Free women Free men just humans and In the name of humanity ..............I'm so sorry for you you are full of hating even you even hate purest persons in the world I mean children you hate children and want to kill them Wow how much you are sinful ! What your God tell you? kill my children? If your God tell you kill my children ,your God is devil
@AMIRsarkari You are an idiot if you truly believe that. I know why your crackpot mullah regime doesn't like Baha'is, they feel threatened since the Baha'i Faith doesn't have clergy! Also, it has about as much to do with zionism as a fork does with soup.
These are all very important prophecies, but they may not come to pass in the way we expect them. Just as the Jews of 2000 years ago expected a king to lead them to victory over other nations -- and Christians believe that they got One, just not the way they expected -- the people of this age are challenged to see the inner meaning of the prophecies that are the gift of a previous age, meant to help them, in this time, open their inner eye.
4. The Arabs will throw off the reins and take possession of their land, throwing out the authority of the foreigners. 5. A caller will call out from heaven. 6. There will be a great conflict in the land of Syria until it is destroyed. 7. Death and fear will afflict the people of Baghdad and Iraq. A fire will appear in the sky and a redness will cover them.
and by that these events were to happen as he resurrected: 1. Before his coming will come the red death and the white death. The red death is the sword and white death is plague. (see also Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse) 2. Several figures will appear: the one-eyed Dajjal, the Sufyani and the Yamani. Another figure, the Pure Soul (an-Nafs az-Zakiyya), will be assassinated. 3. The sun will rise from the West and a star will appear in the East giving out as much light as the moon.
that's just bullshit, I've had bahai's friends in school and they treated them BETTER than other people,
incase if u don't know what bahai is, it's basically they believe that the twelfth desibel of prophet mohammad has been reincarnated already and they consider him their righteous leader and follow his words..
may I remind you that had this been really true, the world would've been a different place.
We hear that a lot -- "if the prophecies had really been fulfilled, X would have happened." But those prophecies, just as in the past, are meant to be seen metaphorically; when they refer to the sun, for example, it may not be the physical sun, but the light of guidance that comes from God's divine Messengers.
The same challenge was made of both His Holiness Jesus, and the Prophet Muhammed. "How can claim to be a bearer of God's message, when all that we expect has not come to pass?"
If one is objective, they will find the same arguments presented in every religious book. It's just that we don't like it when the same arguments are presented to us. When we tell them to others, it's ok, but when it is told to us, we get offended and try to refute the very same arguments that we tell other people.
it seems that people here have no respect for what these kids are saying but rather they feel like writing an opinion that they decided to pull out from their ---
You know, wouldn't it be funny if a child said something like this accept towards...hmm..kids in Africa? then everyone would comment saying That's BEAUTIFUL! but to something like religion they feel like they have the right to suggest that these kids are different from the ones in Africa...
It's a fine line to walk, but as discussions on the Internet go, this one has been pretty good. Yes, some comments have been inflammatory and only partially informed, but they have provided a valuable chance to clarify the situation of the Baha'is in Iran.
Thank you to all who have raised questions, and to all who have helped to answer them!
I'll just say that if you don't know christianty beyond the bible, you are actually interpreting at your own behalf....read other books , like the bible as a historical book, then we'll talk
So, as the time goes by, people get more knowledgeable, logical, and open-minded. So, they really need a religion to respond to their life demands. That's another reason why god has frequently sent and will continue to send his "Holly Spirit" for the people to guide them based on their time demands.
their soul is the same. Some might be handsome and good looking in people's point of view, some might not. Depends on what "handsome" and "ugly" is interpreted among the people of that era. What we need to remember is that over the time this "Holly spirit" needs to bring some instructions and teaching based on the knowledge, demands, and the level of thinking of the people. As I said, people today can't accept to go to heaven for milk and honey. So, I need new instructions to teach me....
We know that prophets' divine spirits are originated from a common unit and a single source called GOD. Also, as it was discussed they all can claim to be the "GOD". So, if we say this prophet is better than the other, in fact that means " GOD IS BETTER THAN GOD" which doesn't make sense. So, in terms of ranking they are all equal because their soul is equal. They are all reflection of GOD spirit or as Jesus says "Holly spirit". It is only their bodies that changes over the time
because of their divine spirit they could symbolically claim to be the GOD. So, if Muhammad or Bahaullah or Jesus were symbolically GOD, due to their divine spirit, I think it sounds a bit funny if we say for example somebody like Khadija helped "GOD" to learn about the previous and future religions, doesn't it???
As you know all prophets are like a mirror that reflect the light of God to the people. Some people say why prophets at some stages claimed to be God. Well, when you can see the sun in a mirror, and you can feel its warmness in the mirror after reflection, in fact the mirror can claim to be the SUN. It is not the ACTUAL SUN but because it has all visible features of the sun and picture of the sun is observable, it can claim to be the sun. Prophets were exactly like that...
Richbee2be: That was really funny thank you...So, muhammad, prophet of god learned about the god and his religious from Khadija??:o ?? You mean "the prophets of god" doesn't know what their former religions were??? Are you serious?? If you are serious I have to say they learned from wherever Jesus learned from. When a person is chosen as a prophet, it doesn't matter if the person has PHD or his is illiterate because he will be leading and guiding peoples by the help GOD.
"These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father." (John 16:25)
Jesus DID talk in parables. You keep insisting that he didnt.
Proof:
"These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father." (John 16:25)
Reply to this message and do NOT quote irrelevant scriptures.
I have a challenge for you two gentlemen. Can you tell me anything that you can agree on about religion? I think it will be the most fruitful for you if you try to find common groud and see how far you can walk together down the path of religion before you have to part ways.
exactly supports this fact that when bible says "Jesus revived dead peoples" That meant Jesus revived their dead soul by his teachings, not reviving their dead bodies. "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." (Ephesians 5:14). Here "dead" is a metaphor, it is not the actual "death".
nowadays, people are ready to hear many facts as they are, without using metaphors. People are mature minded and can easily understand most of what Baha'ullah teachings. They find it in accordance to morality, logic, science...That was the reason prophets used metaphors for transferring their thoughts to the people. There are many examples in bible that Jesus clearly says he is talking to people metaphorically. I can provide them to you if you want. What you said in your last post ....
some relevant stories. But today people can't accept that they will go to heaven for just milk and honey, cause they are drinking this milk and honey everyday on their breakfast. That's why they don't see any reason for having any religion. Because they can gain all those promised gifts in this world. That's why they become agnostic. This proves their minds maturity that don't accept these promises. They find it in contradict with their logic and science. But what bahaullah says is that...
things?? but when Muhammad talked to them metaphorically, and likened moral values to materials they understand him and accepted his word. For example, he had to tell them that if they die they'll be sent directly to the heaven, where they could have falls of milk and honey, delicious fruits etc...That was all metaphor there is no such things available for the soul, soul doesn't need milk and honey or sort of things. Jesus too, he had to teach people by bringing examples, or telling
metaphorically???well, it was because people by the time hardly could swallow the a creator called God, Allah,...exists. (For instance, when Muhammad became a prophet, Arabs were still worshiping their hand made idols. ) So, how could these people first accept Muhammad as a prophet of god and second understand his teachings. How could Mohammad teach them that there if they die they soul will have an eternal soul which will live for ever. They buried their girls alive how could they accept such
Because each country had different problems with this religions. Baha'ullah had no PERSONAL beliefs on Bible. What he believed, ordered, and thought was all what he had been told by God. Secondly, all religions, in order to be accepted by today's logical, knowledge human beings, have no choice than to be based on logic and science. In fact they are all unlike what mullahs and priests tell you in order to keep their business running. Then why did those prophets chose to talk to people (next)
Instead of your opinions I rather receiving a logical answer for my last question including some words from bahai's holly book stating that "Christ is not a Truth", "Bahai's don't accept the Christ", " Baha'ullah is a false prophet". What I hope receive from you as a christian adult or a priest(Who knows) is some words from Baha'i's book that proves your "accusations".After that we can move on to the next point you arose about the problems Baha'ullah had made for Turks, Arabs, Iranians etc
Dear Richbee2be and nickolas177, What an interesting debate you're having. I really appreciate the way you are respecting each other's ideas. This is the Baha'i way, since we are forbidden to make religion a cause of argument and fighting. You are welcome to keep talking in this forum as long as you keep it respectful. Thanks for caring enough to write!
You are right bahaullah claimed to be the Crhist for his own benefits...That's why he spent more than half of his life in prison. This claim might have been for his followers too. These girls in this video are all the way talking about the advantages his followers are taking by being Bahai. Since they started following his teachings, 1000 of them were killed, exiled with their families, and been taken their own human rights. If you want to know their other benefits you'd better read their books
It is not easy to say Baha'is reject the Jesus and Baha'ullah was a false prophet. I just proved to you that you are completely "in sleep",. But if you want to prove that Baha'is reject the Christ you need to bring me some words from the Baha'is holly books. If you could only find ONE SENTENCE among their hundreds of books and prays written by our prophet, I will accept your word. By the way, you've not still answer my question. Who was the "Prince of the world"(John 14:30).
So, as the bible says it is all been stated in figurative language...when Jesus says I'll come back to you that means his soul which is a holly spirit will be back. Not himself physically. Therefore, there would be no contradicts through out the bible. But your false teachers who are your priests for their own benefits don't want to accept this reality and not only Jesus has found them sleeping but they also prevent you from probing the realities and the truths.
Also, one of the main reason people convert from Christianity to other religions such as Islam is due to the contradicts in bible. People get confused when Jesus says "I'll go and you no longer will see me again" and somewhere else says "I'll come back to you". That's because Christians don't want to understand that returning the same Jesus with the same physical characteristic is impossible. Because when human being dies it is only his soul that lives for ever not the flesh and the body.
But if you want to deeply analyse what jesus said, that means the holly spirit which is the holly spirit of god will be sent again to people. Of course this spirit in order to come to this material world needs to have a material part which is the body. That's why soul and body are complementary aspect of a human being. Therefore, another messenger from god is needed to bring this Holly counselor soul which is in fact the soul of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and all former prophets to this world
Nice, then you believe that Jesus was the light and glory of god right(John 8:11). He also says "The counselor the holly spirit, whom the father will send in my name, will teach you all thing and will remind you of everything I have said to you"(John 14:26). Baha'ullah in Arabic means "The light of God". So even if you want to translate the bible superficially, when the Jesus says I'll be back, that means the light of God will be back and the light of God is Baha'ullah. Next
answer my question if you know your bible better than me...How is the person Jesus 1000 of times says he will come...who is the prince of the world, who is the counselor, who is the holly spirit???? Just don't come up with childish mambo jumbo please...say something not to get fooled by people
UNBELIEVERS what do you mean?? Baha'is believe in all religions including Christianity. Did you read it completely or just throwing something?? Jesus is talking about himself and says when he comes he must not find you sleeping. Who has come now for not believing him?? Jesus is not talking about Baha'ullah, he is talking about the next prophets. Muhammad, Baha'ullah and future prophets. You read your bible as if you are reading a story book, don't you???
Also in (John 14:26) " But the counselor, the holy spirit, whom the father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. There are more of these in your bible if you read it carefully, if not you will be one of those Jesus says:(Mark 14:35-36) "Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back whether in the evening, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let me find you sleeping".
I can provide you as I promised with plenty of documents that proves your are wrong. One of them is John 14:30. Come back with translation. Why Jesus say" I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming" who is the prince of this world??? Isn't he the next prophet? Muhammad or Baha'ullah etc...?He also says " For I tell you, you ill not see me again until you say, blessed is he who comes in the name of god"(Matthew 23:30). next comment...
PROMOTION of Youtube playlist "Candles of Unity", a broad introduction to the Baha'i Faith, the fastest growing world religion through which the plan of God for humanity is now clearly known.
Baha'i children?!? So these children studied all the options, including no religion at all, and freely chose to become Bahais? How remarkably adult of them. Though I rather suspect they sort of automatically "became" the religion of their parents.
One enlightened day freedom FROM religion will become a basic human right for all children and adults. Until then the rational and intelligent among us will just have to grin and bear the inanity of millions blindly following their fairy tales.
I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that we mostly agree here. Independent investigation of truth really is crucial, and unthinking conformity leads to all sorts of trouble. I assure you that our children are always encouraged to learn about all religions and philosophies, but I'm sure they'll be more able to do that when they are older.
Baha'u'llah instructs us, "see with thine own eyes, and not through the eyes of others" (Hidden Words, Arabic #2).
Baha'u'llah instructs us, "see with thine own eyes, and not through the eyes of others"
Yet he lays claim to some special "devine seeing" gifts allowing only him access to some "secret special wisdom®" that you cant see with thine own eyes but need his to see. For which he, of course - like all religious leaders before and since, does not offer a shred of evidence.
By its aid thou shalt see with thine own eyes and not through the eyes of others, and shalt know of thine own knowledge and not through the knowledge of thy neighbour.
There is no need to repeat things from other people like what a parrot does (thou shalt see with thine OWN eyes and not through the eyes of others).
We are ALL capable of reading holy scriptures for OURSELVES.
Why are there so many Christian sects? Because infront of a crowd of people, a priest gives their own interpretation which causes division. The literacy rate these past few hundred years has risen dramatically: We no longer require someone to preach at us!
Anyone who believes Islam is a "death cult" ala Sam Harris's seemingly opportunistic jumping onto the lucratively war and oil-money supported anti-Moslem bandwagon, should watch the documentary Encounter Point, inspect the nurashkijerrahi website, see Israeli anthropologist Jeff Halper's video on google, and also check the work of American Jewish activist Norman Finkelstein. A watch at the BBC's "Power of Nightmares" online would be a good place to start breaking the brainwashing too.
"Anyone who believes Islam is a "death cult" ala Sam Harris's (...) should (...) check the work of American Jewish activist Norman Finkelstein."
I have some respect for Jews who convert to Islam and go live in Islamic countries. I have no respect whatsoever for those who sit their asses in the US to trash those who have only that ridiculous strip of land surrounded by Arabs by all sides.
Dear Sisters indeed what is happening in Iran and other countries some people are doing a great deservice to Islam, the Bahai Faith and indeed all Mankind.... You may find my videos of interest. Salam Anne Marie Elderkin (Habibi)
Could you please give specifics? I would be happy to answer them individually. As with any religious history, it is emotionally charged, but fortunately in the case of the Babi and Baha'i Faiths, many primary documents and accounts still survive, simply because the events are all within the last 165 years.
"aggression against the moslem middle east has NOTHING to do with persecution of Baha'is. they are only persecuted because he fanatic clergy in Iran hate a faith that puts them out of business. they have been persecuting the Baha'is even when there has been peace. your argument could be translated into "to stop the genocide of the Jews in Europe, the rest of Europe should have allowed Hitler to roll over Poland... wait.. they DID that....
since when is a human rights issue a political issue? i suggest you read the universal declaration of human rights and the UN Bill of Rights of Children.
As a parent, I feel its exploitative to use a child of this age for political purposes. Of course, the child cares, but why should she have been exposed to this kind of frightening information to begin with? She'll have her whole life for this. You, and the Bahai organization should at least wait until the children are around 12. A final note:what will really further the welfare of those Bahai children is protesting further armed aggression against the Moslem mid-east. Are you doing that?
children should be infantilized and blind to what is happening to other children in the world? even if it's something not violent or gory? they should be watching miley cyrus all day or care only about nintendo or dolls? maybe that so called norm, is not right? that we dumb down our childen by not letting them learn about anything? check this magazine and buy it for your daughters if you have any. "New Moon: the magazine for girls and their dreams." THAT's how we should be educating children.
Yes, and it should be left to THAT child's parents. Please do not remote-parent this young girl. Leave parenting her to her parents, and you parent your children according to your taste. Thank you.
I can respect that point of view (not exposing children to this sort of thing until they are older). We felt that Georgia was ready for it. After all, the Iranian children are basically being bullied, which is something she can relate to.
As for promoting peace and opposing aggression, although they are not related to Baha'i persecution (as mentioned elsewhere), yes, that is definitely part of the mandate of being a Baha'i.
Then Now is the time to examine your own participation in the demonization of Iran, before you see another national culture devastated by war, leading to famine, bombs, polluted water and depleted uranium *killing* hundreds of thousands of children, and young women being gang-raped in Iran, (and possibly the US) as they are now in Iraq. And I'd take the responsibility for that myself, and let my daughter feel as safe as possible to do the growing up which belongs to her stage of life.
If Baha'is don't bring the plight of their fellow believers in Iran to the world's attention. Should we close our eyes to the daily injustices heaped on Baha'is for fear of "demonizing"the Iranian authorities? Might help u to know that there are currently a group of Baha'i youths imprisoned in Iran whose only "crime" was to be involved in a service project to help underprivileged Muslim children. Baha'is don't seek to demonize.Their highest aspiration is to serve their fellow man.
I have Baha'i friends, and I'm sorry about the human rights failures of the Iranian government--nevertheless, probably the most successful thing the Baha'i community could do right now, for the welfare of Baha'is in Iran, and for the world community, would be to speak against terrorism toward Iran, which both Baha'is and Moslems will be caught up in.
We are opposed to all terrorism, whether it's a country that funds HAMAS and HEZBOLLAH, and terrorizes it minorities, or states terrorizing other peoples. But do NOT blame the victim. Baha'is are being raped and violated of their rights, do NOT blame them. Do not excuse the terrorist behavior of ANYONE.
Baha'is do NOT demonize Iran, or its people, or its government. We LOVE Iran. It is SACRED to us. We are the well wishers of all nations and countries. Baha'is in Iran have been and are doing all kinds of service for their country and would do more if we were not barred from most work there! But OUR way is not one of political protest and confrontation.
Terrorism is the true universal language of of Islam. What you are saying translates to this: The Baha'i should be quiet about whatever Muslims do to them, or the West might step in to help them and end up causing Baha'i deaths. You are saying it's better for them to be opressed and quiet then vocal and dead. I wonder why Muslims don't take that very same advice to heart in all countries they terrorize, such as Russia, Indonesia, Tailandia, China, and even Israel.
@givebirthathome well u think that the children in Iran are big enought to be persecuted, to see their parents in prisobn because they believe in "unity in diversity" , because they believe in God, but not in the way than the government wants them to ?!
Those children just understood that kids of their age, are being persecuted... for no reason at all.... so they shout "INJUSTICE" to the world!
GREAT AND URGENT video. We really need to hear about this crisis and act upon it as Baha'is. You girls are to be congratulated and make Baha'u'llah very happy. I will keep you in my prayers.
Georgia received a letter from a young people's outreach department of the Baha'i national office to inform her of what was happening to Baha'i kids in Iran and let her know how she could help.
When she read the letter, she was, naturally, very upset and took the letter to her teacher and asked her to read it. She told me she wanted to tell everyone about what was happening.
I told her if she wanted to make a movie about it, I would post it on YouTube for her.
I shot the footage and thought for a long time about whether it was a good idea to put Georgia OUT THERE in public. I decided that since she wouldn't have access to any comments, I would be able to take the brunt of any attacks the video generated.
bahai faith??? dont flatter yourselves. more of a cult than a faith, thats right ive been to there so-called community gatherings scandalous very scandalous people. bahai discrimination !! what a load of rubbish.
provide substantiation for your tired, fanatic, bigoted charge of "scandalous." wait, you can't, because you're intolerant and use the term "cult" to refer to anything that you don't agree with.. :)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
on the contrary i'm quite tolerant to all faiths. however I cannot bring myself to agree with the bahai as a faith. Bigotry, intolerance call it what you will. This cult is of the scandalous type and has unfortunately warped the minds of many individuals into believing the opposite. I challenge you to visit one of their community gatherings for some time and then tell me your opinion, I never judge before I dont know.
I became a Baha'i 18 years ago. :) There is nothing but kindness, spirituality, and participatory community building about the Baha'i gatherings. Your baseless accusations, again, have no proof. You are hereby being kill-filed. No independent scholar has ever accused Baha'is of THAT. Come up with better criticisms of the Baha'i Faith, ELSEWHERE (since this is no longer about this video), and we will be happy to discuss. Until then, chapeau, my friend...God loves you.
I have been to a Baha'i gathering. It is so cult unlike that I'd say they are boring. Muslims, on other hand, are a gigantic death cult. Growing faster then any other religion but your's trully Baha'i and, surprise, Zoroastrism.
If you have only been to "a" Baha'i gathering, it seems unlikely you are Baha'i. What is your religion, by birth and by present conviction? Raised in non-observant mainstream Christianity, I became a Buddhist as an adult. That's where I'm coming from in my remarks on Islam in my comment above.
using children to make a statement about other children...Gosh! listen to what the damn children are talking about!
OTHER CHILDREN whos teachers make fun of them because of their religous beliefs! and expelled for speaking truth about what their religon means to them!
christians do it through Kids for kids...and its ok, it should be ok for these or any other kids to speak for other kids too!
Still a political propaganda. The children are not "Talking about" anything they're "reading from a note written by adults." Not right to involve and use the children. No teacher makes fun of Bahaii kids in Iran and if one does that he's just a single idiot.
there is HUGE discrimination against bahais in iran, During a 30-day period from mid-January to mid-February, some 150 incidents of insults, mistreatment, and even physical violence by school authorities against Baha'i students were reported as occurring in at least 10 Iranian cities. (and, in at least one case, child was blindfolded and beaten) now tell me thats one "single idiot" doing this!
HeartlessA, did you personally witness the 150incidents or you heard it from those who heard it from others?! There is no doubt that the regime is anti-Bahai but the question is, who else is the regime actually for but themselves? I'm a Persian from a none-religious muslim family and I feel no different than a Bahai family when it comes to the regime. The religion is just an excuse. They have this bitter character which makes them fight against everyone who's not 100% like them, including us.
Because kids normaly don't talk about religions, politics, far countries and regimes. They talk about dolls and nintendo games and kitties. She can hardly pronounce "Bahai faith" and you're saying this is kids words?! :)
To see children care for justice then our world has hope......If they don't care then who will....I think this is absolutely wonderful and this is education responsibility since young age. Hope the older generation will move on and be replace with these children soon. I'm sure the world will be a much more just and peaceful place : ) Shame on you adults with hatred!
rossinibkk 2 months ago
@rossinibkk Thank you, Rossinibkk! It's a big responsibility to cultivate a child's commitment to justice. I think it's instinctual to want justice, but it's society's (and a family's) responsibility to reinforce and develop that instinct, so that it develops into something strong and beautiful.

You Bahais in America have no proof of being anything better than modern christians or muslims, especially with your insane parental consent laws.
madmanmantra 11 months ago
Nothing against children supporting each other internationally, but I really feel as though the poster should consider the reality of children in Bahai family in America suffering at least as bad as the Bahais in Iran.
madmanmantra 11 months ago
Bahais are not Zionists, they just happen to have their world center in Israel orPalestine whatever you want to call what Bahais call "The Holy Land". Although Bahais may fully appreciate the safety of their world center from hostile forces by the IDF, they are not responsible nor do they encourage Israel's human rights violations.
madmanmantra 11 months ago

A book related to the subject is "Free Range Kids", by Lenore Skenazy -- challenging and controversial.

bahai faith is not a cult. it is a region like other religions. it says that all religions are from god and they came at different times to guide mankind towards an ever advancing civilization. bahaullah is the last one of this chain of religions from god. there will also be other prophets and religions from god in future just like bahaullah, jesus, budha, etc. as human beings, we are alwaus in need of gods guidances. at each age, our situations change and with that god sends new messengers.

3. The sun will rise from the West and a star will appear in the East giving out as much light as the moon.

that's just bullshit, I've had bahai's friends in school and they treated them BETTER than other people,
incase if u don't know what bahai is, it's basically they believe that the twelfth desibel of prophet mohammad has been reincarnated already and they consider him their righteous leader and follow his words..
may I remind you that had this been really true, the world would've been a different place.
turnernorth 2 years ago
We hear that a lot -- "if the prophecies had really been fulfilled, X would have happened." But those prophecies, just as in the past, are meant to be seen metaphorically; when they refer to the sun, for example, it may not be the physical sun, but the light of guidance that comes from God's divine Messengers.
The same challenge was made of both His Holiness Jesus, and the Prophet Muhammed. "How can claim to be a bearer of God's message, when all that we expect has not come to pass?"
neolefty 2 years ago
If one is objective, they will find the same arguments presented in every religious book. It's just that we don't like it when the same arguments are presented to us. When we tell them to others, it's ok, but when it is told to us, we get offended and try to refute the very same arguments that we tell other people.

So, as the time goes by, people get more knowledgeable, logical, and open-minded. So, they really need a religion to respond to their life demands. That's another reason why god has frequently sent and will continue to send his "Holly Spirit" for the people to guide them based on their time demands.
nickolas177 3 years ago
their soul is the same. So, I need new instructions to teach me....
nickolas177 3 years ago
We know that prophets' divine spirits are originated from a common unit and a single source called GOD. Also, as it was discussed they all can claim to be the "GOD". So, if we say this prophet is better than the other, in fact that means " GOD IS BETTER THAN GOD" which doesn't make sense. So, in terms of ranking they are all equal because their soul is equal. They are all reflection of GOD spirit or as Jesus says "Holly spirit". It is only their bodies that changes over the time
nickolas177 3 years ago
because of their divine spirit they could symbolically claim to be the GOD. So, if Muhammad or Bahaullah or Jesus were symbolically GOD, due to their divine spirit, I think it sounds a bit funny if we say for example somebody like Khadija helped "GOD" to learn about the previous and future religions, doesn't it???
nickolas177 3 years ago
As you know all prophets are like a mirror that reflect the light of God to the people. Some people say why prophets at some stages claimed to be God. Well, when you can see the sun in a mirror, and you can feel its warmness in the mirror after reflection, in fact the mirror can claim to be the SUN. It is not the ACTUAL SUN but because it has all visible features of the sun and picture of the sun is observable, it can claim to be the sun. Prophets were exactly like that...
nickolas177 3 years ago
Richbee2be: That was really funny thank you...So, muhammad, prophet of god learned about the god and his religious from Khadija??:o ?? You mean "the prophets of god" doesn't know what their former religions were??? Are you serious?? If you are serious I have to say they learned from wherever Jesus learned from. When a person is chosen as a prophet, it doesn't matter if the person has PHD or his is illiterate because he will be leading and guiding peoples by the help GOD.

I have a challenge for you two gentlemen. Can you tell me anything that you can agree on about religion? I think it will be the most fruitful for you if you try to find common groud and see how far you can walk together down the path of religion before you have to part ways.
neolefty 3 years ago
exactly supports this fact that when bible says "Jesus revived dead peoples" That meant Jesus revived their dead soul by his teachings, not reviving their dead bodies. "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." (Ephesians 5:14). Here "dead" is a metaphor, it is not the actual "death".
nickolas177 3 years ago
nowadays, people are ready to hear many facts as they are, without using metaphors. What you said in your last post ....
nickolas177 3 years ago 2
some relevant stories. But what bahaullah says is that...
nickolas177 3 years ago 2
things?? but when Muhammad talked to them metaphorically, and likened moral values to materials they understand him and accepted his word. For example, he had to tell them that if they die they'll be sent directly to the heaven, where they could have falls of milk and honey, delicious fruits etc...That was all metaphor there is no such things available for the soul, soul doesn't need milk and honey or sort of things. Jesus too, he had to teach people by bringing examples, or telling
nickolas177 3 years ago
metaphorically???well, it was because people by the time hardly could swallow the a creator called God, Allah,...exists. They buried their girls alive how could they accept such
nickolas177 3 years ago
Because each country had different problems with this religions. Baha'ullah had no PERSONAL beliefs on Bible. What he believed, ordered, and thought was all what he had been told by God. Secondly, all religions, in order to be accepted by today's logical, knowledge human beings, have no choice than to be based on logic and science. In fact they are all unlike what mullahs and priests tell you in order to keep their business running. Then why did those prophets chose to talk to people (next)
nickolas177 3 years ago
Instead of your opinions I rather receiving a logical answer for my last question including some words from bahai's holly book stating that "Christ is not a Truth", "Bahai's don't accept the Christ", " Baha'ullah is a false prophet". What I hope receive from you as a christian adult or a priest(Who knows) is some words from Baha'i's book that proves your "accusations".After that we can move on to the next point you arose about the problems Baha'ullah had made for Turks, Arabs, Iranians etc
nickolas177 3 years ago
Dear Richbee2be and nickolas177, What an interesting debate you're having. I really appreciate the way you are respecting each other's ideas. This is the Baha'i way, since we are forbidden to make religion a cause of argument and fighting. You are welcome to keep talking in this forum as long as you keep it respectful. Thanks for caring enough to write!
neolefty 3 years ago
You are right bahaullah claimed to be the Crhist for his own benefits...That's why he spent more than half of his life in prison. This claim might have been for his followers too. These girls in this video are all the way talking about the advantages his followers are taking by being Bahai. Since they started following his teachings, 1000 of them were killed, exiled with their families, and been taken their own human rights. If you want to know their other benefits you'd better read their books
nickolas177 3 years ago 2
It is not easy to say Baha'is reject the Jesus and Baha'ullah was a false prophet. I just proved to you that you are completely "in sleep",. But if you want to prove that Baha'is reject the Christ you need to bring me some words from the Baha'is holly books. If you could only find ONE SENTENCE among their hundreds of books and prays written by our prophet, I will accept your word. By the way, you've not still answer my question. Who was the "Prince of the world"(John 14:30).
nickolas177 3 years ago
So, as the bible says it is all been stated in figurative language...when Jesus says I'll come back to you that means his soul which is a holly spirit will be back. Not himself physically. Therefore, there would be no contradicts through out the bible. But your false teachers who are your priests for their own benefits don't want to accept this reality and not only Jesus has found them sleeping but they also prevent you from probing the realities and the truths.
nickolas177 3 years ago
Also, one of the main reason people convert from Christianity to other religions such as Islam is due to the contradicts in bible. People get confused when Jesus says "I'll go and you no longer will see me again" and somewhere else says "I'll come back to you". That's because Christians don't want to understand that returning the same Jesus with the same physical characteristic is impossible. Because when human being dies it is only his soul that lives for ever not the flesh and the body.
nickolas177 3 years ago
But if you want to deeply analyse what jesus said, that means the holly spirit which is the holly spirit of god will be sent again to people. Of course this spirit in order to come to this material world needs to have a material part which is the body. That's why soul and body are complementary aspect of a human being. Therefore, another messenger from god is needed to bring this Holly counselor soul which is in fact the soul of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and all former prophets to this world
nickolas177 3 years ago
Nice, then you believe that Jesus was the light and glory of god right(John 8:11). He also says "The counselor the holly spirit, whom the father will send in my name, will teach you all thing and will remind you of everything I have said to you"(John 14:26). Baha'ullah in Arabic means "The light of God". So even if you want to translate the bible superficially, when the Jesus says I'll be back, that means the light of God will be back and the light of God is Baha'ullah. Next
nickolas177 3 years ago

UNBELIEVERS what do you mean?? Baha'is believe in all religions including Christianity. Did you read it completely or just throwing something?? Jesus is talking about himself and says when he comes he must not find you sleeping. Who has come now for not believing him?? Jesus is not talking about Baha'ullah, he is talking about the next prophets. Muhammad, Baha'ullah and future prophets. You read your bible as if you are reading a story book, don't you???
nickolas177 3 years ago

Until then the rational and intelligent among us will just have to grin and bear the inanity of millions blindly following their fairy tales.
fctchk 3 years ago

For which he, of course - like all religious leaders before and since, does not offer a shred of evidence.
fctchk 3 years ago 3
You are mixing things up.
This is the full sentence:
By its aid thou shalt see with thine own eyes and not through the eyes of others, and shalt know of thine own knowledge and not through the knowledge of thy neighbour.
PleasantPenguin 3 years ago
An explanation:

"aggression against the moslem middle east has NOTHING to do with persecution of Baha'is. they are only persecuted because he fanatic clergy in Iran hate a faith that puts them out of business. they have been persecuting the Baha'is even when there has been peace. your argument could be translated into "to stop the genocide of the Jews in Europe, the rest of Europe should have allowed Hitler to roll over Poland... wait.. they DID that....
barmak9 3 years ago
since when is a human rights issue a political issue? i suggest you read the universal declaration of human rights and the UN Bill of Rights of Children.
barmak9 3 years ago 3
As a parent, I feel its exploitative to use a child of this age for political purposes. Of course, the child cares, but why should she have been exposed to this kind of frightening information to begin with? She'll have her whole life for this. You, and the Bahai organization should at least wait until the children are around 12. A final note:what will really further the welfare of those Bahai children is protesting further armed aggression against the Moslem mid-east. Are you doing that?
givebirthathome 3 years ago
children should be infantilized and blind to what is happening to other children in the world? even if it's something not violent or gory? they should be watching miley cyrus all day or care only about nintendo or dolls? maybe that so called norm, is not right? that we dumb down our childen by not letting them learn about anything? check this magazine and buy it for your daughters if you have any. "New Moon: the magazine for girls and their dreams." THAT's how we should be educating children.
barmak9 3 years ago
New Moon is for pubescent children. This child is far from pubescent. Good parenting is subtle art, with many gradations.
givebirthathome 3 years ago
Yes, and it should be left to THAT child's parents. Please do not remote-parent this young girl. Leave parenting her to her parents, and you parent your children according to your taste. Thank you.
barmak9 3 years ago

Baha'is don't seek to demonize.Their highest aspiration is to serve their fellow man.

oops, meant to say..If Baha'is don't bring the plight of their fellow believers in Iran to the world's attention I WONDER WHO WILL! :)
Avicenna9 3 years ago
I have Baha'i friends, and I'm sorry about the human rights failures of the Iranian government--nevertheless, probably the most successful thing the Baha'i community could do right now, for the welfare of Baha'is in Iran, and for the world community, would be to speak against terrorism toward Iran, which both Baha'is and Moslems will be caught up in.
givebirthathome 3 years ago
We are opposed to all terrorism, whether it's a country that funds HAMAS and HEZBOLLAH, and terrorizes it minorities, or states terrorizing other peoples. But do NOT blame the victim. Baha'is are being raped and violated of their rights, do NOT blame them. Do not excuse the terrorist behavior of ANYONE.
barmak9 3 years ago
Baha'is do NOT demonize Iran, or its people, or its government. We LOVE Iran. It is SACRED to us. We are the well wishers of all nations and countries. Baha'is in Iran have been and are doing all kinds of service for their country and would do more if we were not barred from most work there! But OUR way is not one of political protest and confrontation.
barmak9 3 years ago 2

Those children just understood that kids of their age, are being persecuted... for no reason at all.... so they shout "INJUSTICE" to the world!
they are brave!

Although i do not belive the bahai faith whatsoever, persecution for any faith is wrong.

GREAT AND URGENT video. We really need to hear about this crisis and act upon it as Baha'is. You girls are to be congratulated and make Baha'u'llah very happy. I will keep you in my prayers.

A little background on how this video came to be:
Georgia received a letter from a young people's outreach department of the Baha'i national office to inform her of what was happening to Baha'i kids in Iran and let her know how she could help.
When she read the letter, she was, naturally, very upset and took the letter to her teacher and asked her to read it. She told me she wanted to tell everyone about what was happening.

[continued from previous comment]
I told her if she wanted to make a movie about it, I would post it on YouTube for her.
I shot the footage and thought for a long time about whether it was a good idea to put Georgia OUT THERE in public. I decided that since she wouldn't have access to any comments, I would be able to take the brunt of any attacks the video generated.

bahai faith??? dont flatter yourselves. more of a cult than a faith, thats right ive been to there so-called community gatherings scandalous very scandalous people. bahai discrimination !! what a load of rubbish.
mastercaresecurity 3 years ago
provide substantiation for your tired, fanatic, bigoted charge of "scandalous." wait, you can't, because you're intolerant and use the term "cult" to refer to anything that you don't agree with.. :)
barmak9 3 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
on the contrary i'm quite tolerant to all faiths. however I cannot bring myself to agree with the bahai as a faith. Bigotry, intolerance call it what you will. This cult is of the scandalous type and has unfortunately warped the minds of many individuals into believing the opposite. I challenge you to visit one of their community gatherings for some time and then tell me your opinion, I never judge before I dont know.
mastercaresecurity 3 years ago
I became a Baha'i 18 years ago. :) There is nothing but kindness, spirituality, and participatory community building about the Baha'i gatherings. Your baseless accusations, again, have no proof. You are hereby being kill-filed. No independent scholar has ever accused Baha'is of THAT. Come up with better criticisms of the Baha'i Faith, ELSEWHERE (since this is no longer about this video), and we will be happy to discuss. Until then, chapeau, my friend...God loves you.
barmak9 3 years ago
I have been to a Baha'i gathering. It is so cult unlike that I'd say they are boring. Muslims, on other hand, are a gigantic death cult. Growing faster then any other religion but your's trully Baha'i and, surprise, Zoroastrism.
Eikinkloster 3 years ago
If you have only been to "a" Baha'i gathering, it seems unlikely you are Baha'i. What is your religion, by birth and by present conviction? Raised in non-observant mainstream Christianity, I became a Buddhist as an adult. That's where I'm coming from in my remarks on Islam in my comment above.

That is so negative, you must not like yourself that much

Using children to make political statement?
kinda low.
Hesam0000 3 years ago
using children to make a statement about other children...Gosh! listen to what the damn children are talking about!
OTHER CHILDREN whos teachers make fun of them because of their religous beliefs! and expelled for speaking truth about what their religon means to them!
christians do it through Kids for kids...and its ok, it should be ok for these or any other kids to speak for other kids too!
HeartlessArchAngel69 3 years ago 3
Still a political propaganda. The children are not "Talking about" anything they're "reading from a note written by adults." Not right to involve and use the children. No teacher makes fun of Bahaii kids in Iran and if one does that he's just a single idiot.
Christians using kids doesn't make it right.
Let the kids be kids.
Leave the political BS for us adults.
Hesam0000 3 years ago
EXCUSE ME!
there is HUGE discrimination against bahais in iran, During a 30-day period from mid-January to mid-February, some 150 incidents of insults, mistreatment, and even physical violence by school authorities against Baha'i students were reported as occurring in at least 10 Iranian cities. (and, in at least one case, child was blindfolded and beaten) now tell me thats one "single idiot" doing this!

Stop the lies please...

Stop the hipocrisy. Mohammed was the master of all lies.
Eikinkloster 3 years ago
HeartlessA, did you personally witness the 150incidents or you heard it from those who heard it from others?! There is no doubt that the regime is anti-Bahai but the question is, who else is the regime actually for but themselves? I'm a Persian from a none-religious muslim family and I feel no different than a Bahai family when it comes to the regime. The religion is just an excuse. They have this bitter character which makes them fight against everyone who's not 100% like them, including us.
Hesam0000 3 years ago
not to mention Baha'i students seeking to enter Iranian universities have been expelled after being identified as Baha'is!
HeartlessArchAngel69 3 years ago
how do you know that this letter was not written by one of the kids? it sounds like in simple kids words to me!
HeartlessArchAngel69 3 years ago
Because kids normaly don't talk about religions, politics, far countries and regimes. They talk about dolls and nintendo games and kitties. She can hardly pronounce "Bahai faith" and you're saying this is kids words?! :)
