This is why I would never sail from Southampton! Went on first cruise in September this year, on Voyager of the Seas. Flew to Venice and picked up ship from there.
oo when i went it was lovely on this ship we got a few rough seas but i rember when i used to stand were you are know!! i just wish i was goin on it again! :(
I went on a Independence cruise November 8 2010 and it was my first cruise and the sea was hell but was still such an amazing holiday... but we did miss madiera
We went on the Independence n the 23rd November 2009 and going through The Bay of Biscay was a little rough but no way as bad as that we only had 30 foot waves if memory serves me correct
I've been on 3 cruises (Navigator & Independence of Seas) and been quite lucky with weather. We went in Oct 2009 and we were fine. However my sister went on Cruise end of Oct 2010 to Canaries and the weather was so bad the Captain had to make a detour and missed out on Madeira port - nearly put her off for life!!!
Ahh the bay of biscay. So, so, so many 'happy' memories on cruise ships there.
However, me and my brother went to the front of the Aurora (P&O) in about force 8 storm, the ship jumped as we jumped, and I'm not kidding here, we were floating for about 4 seconds! It was amazing.
I was on the November 1st 2009 crossing (not sure if the same trip) but was rough then, we were on the 10th floor did bang about a little bit but the Indy is very stable and wonderful, still had a great time... mark
o How i remember that lol was def rough crossing over hahaha funniest thing was the ppl in wheel chairs when the ship rocked they went crashing into lifts nearly pissed myself laughing shouldnt really ahhaha

Looks nice and cozy to be on such a monster plying through these waves. It looks like fun.

this was the 12th Nov sailing, but we heard that you had it a little rough too. We had our sea legs so didn't miss a thing :-)

Great video. Esp love how Indy just thunders headlong into the gale at her usual cruising speed. Incredible.

Are you not allowed to go outside?
xlxdriver 2 years ago
we weren't, all doors to decks were locked because of the high winds
TheMoogles 2 years ago
Once a ship encounters such a storm, the captain orders a "Lockdown" of the ship as The Moogles below responded.
