How the radio works on GTA: SA - One 2-3 hour long track is recorded for every station, then played with a loop.

On GTA IV - Several few minute long tracks are recorded, such as songs and adverts, which are picked in a random order by a randomizer, so it's almost always different. :)

what i really love about the radio stations is the orders change throughout the time setting in the game. Rockstar said they wanted to make the stations change (i.e. commercials, songs, DJ speaking) and say it's late out. the DJ would go "It's late out for you Liberty City residents and here are some songs."

but overall, Liberty Rock Radio is my favorite out of any station :)
