While this looks like a solid system. You can save a lot of time, and effort, by using a glass turkey baster with zip ties and coffee filters over the end as the screen. I've seen it done this way before and it works fine.

Not trying to kill your swag here papastoner, but just providing another way for people to get that errrrly goodness.

ok ive made the extractor and everything. have the quadruple refined 100% impurity free butane but now im stuck on the filter part. I cant find accu-mesh. to be honest i think this guys bullshitting us on finding it at a street vendor. I mean seriously thats all this vendor sold as if he knew people only wanted accu-mesh from his little shop? Can i use normal 100% silk instead? just cut it from a piece of silk clothing? or can i use three or just one coffee filters? Im so ready to make bombness

@maesrtk ABS has no fireproofing, PVC in plumbing is used as a fire barrier... ABS emits chlorine gases when heated... PVC would be safer, trust a plumber :P

@maesrtk the way that you are thinking that ABS is safer is in Potatoe cannon projects where you are worried about pressure and explodeing PVC shrapnel. none of the contents are under any large pressure because of the open ended design(no way to trap gasses), but ABS does break down faster chemically. i"ve read where people have made them out of ABS and it has started to break down and ooze into their oil and turning it really cloudy. completly ruined the entire batch.

the real names of these parts are

schedual 40 male threaded riser (for the body)

slip x slip unions (the big white riged things)

& what he calls "reducers" are actualy called adapters.

threaded unions not slip.

these unions & adaptors are not needed, use a 6" sch 20 piece of pipe & the 2 end caps & a screen. drill like he said, but on the bottom cap drill a bunch of holes to drain the butain quickly so as to not burn the thc by keeping it contained longer in the extractor.

I woked at a few hardware & landscape stores, Ive done this several times without a problem. save yourself the $ this guy is wasting you on buying unnessasary parts.

This is a great setup. If you are getting quantities on a second run try making your exit fitting diameter smaller to slow the solvent flow and allow it to reduce more oil. I dont think butane is a solvent to pvc so it should be safe to use. I think you may be over doing it with the filter however the filter may be helping with flow control. Nice video

So your telling me you randomly just found some guy out on the street who was only selling just one type of material called Accu-Mesh? Thats a bit of bullshit man. That would be like trying to find a street vendor with the rarest parts of a 1930 Corvette and nothing else. Is there anything else that can be used instead of silk screen since this doesnt exist in stores.

Are you sure that oil will be safe to use ive heard pvc is not good for extractic canna like the butane absorbes some chems from it or something . A good video none the less thats a fine looking extractor though I dont know about the materials (just the pvc realy .)

The honey bee extractor is also made of plastic and has been on the market for a long time. If you are concerned you can certainly use glass or stainless steel instead.

plastic is fine, butane is fine because it evaporates.

I extract it on a big mirror instead of a bowl so it dries out faster preventing the butane from burning the oil causing a bad taste when smoked or mixed in with food.
