Lenovo Y560 and VeryFace Review

I have an i7 model and it's a really good laptop. Awesome sound quality too, thanks to the JBL speakers. But it doesn't last long on battery, only an hour or so. But that is common with all i7 laptops. I recommend getting this laptop.

I don't own the laptop any more.

The battery life will vary depending on many factors - size of battery purchased,

Processor and RAM memory purchased, Video card, the way you use the computer, do you use Bluetooth, wi-fi and other features all the time, or you turn them off when not needed, how have you set the Brightness of the monitor, Power Saving settings and so on......

Quite good review ;) I consider buying this laptop, but I'd prefer i5 460M version. i7 740QM isn't much more expensive, but I think theres a difference in battery life. Could you please share your experience and write how long the battery lasts with ati graphic card off, only using wifi for surfing? :)

If you buy the smaller processor you will have a longer battery life.

I already sold this laptop,

I do not own it any more but I think just for surfing it may last you twice longer than the usual.

There are many ways to change settings to use less power - read about it online, google it.

The easiest way is to lower the brightness and to make sure you don't run too many programs at the same time.

Regarding the question about the laptop's fan, I want to add:

It is nicely placed at one of the corners of the laptop, and it has quite a big grid which allows for a great air flow.

That's why the laptop never becomes very warm (I don't think it can ever overheat), considering the fact that its hard drive runs with 7200rpm.

@OMGMuki I have not experienced any problems with this laptop.

It will run most games, I am not sure about the very New Games with huge 3D graphics - I don't play those.

The minor issues I mentioned before/below, are only issues with the Lenovo IdeaPad Center software. The problem is that it automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen, even though you set it on a certain level.

The solution is simple - uninstall the Lenovo software.

You don't need it that much, anyways.

The laptop is overall great! It has some minor issues but if you tweek it just a bit it becomes perfect. And the Veryface software is amazing!

Някои от моделите на Леново имат проблем при използването на софтуера на Леново - Lenovo Idea Center. Когато променяте яркостта на монитора (Brightness) например на максимално 10, софтуера на Леново автоматично връща нивото на яркостта на 4 или 5. Изглежда, че това е несъвместимост между Lenovo Idea Center и Windows 7.

Решението е просто - ънинсталирайте (uninstall) софтуера на Леново!

Той не ви трябва толкова така или иначе, а даже може да ви бави и компютъра.

Други позитивни характеристики са:

LED екран, което прави лаптопа изключително лек.

Друго, което прави добро впечатление е вентилатора и неговия дизайн - разположен е в единия от краищата на лаптопа и има голяма и добре изработена решетка, в резултат на което лаптопа никога не загрява много като се има предвид, че харда му работи на 7200 оборота в минута.
