Comparing my guy's to yours I need to upgrade my guys a lot and use David.

I just got my ass beat down three times in this battle. I could handle it if I didn't have that big mother lower my morale at the start. I could handle most large scale battles until now but this is just something else entirely.

I wish I could get the PC version but I'm stuck with the Xbox one. In the end it's a hard battle,and you probably need to level up if you weren't doing quests,you should have 1500 life for each party or more.

I also found out that some people don't do quests,and thats how you unlock more mercenaries of all types to fight for you,hence the purple haired girl X3

a one hand sword sounds good plus a shield looks cool, a typical type of soldier, but some says a one hand axe is better for you'll acquire a great art using an appropriate axe...

@Iamconfusednow the purple haird girl is a chick named nora, i got her in athlem guild. i found the spear guy (idk his name begins with a c i believe) in the town that is sorrounded by dessert i forget the name. in the town that has the acadmy there is a quest in the pub where you deliver a letter to another town. that town is where the spear guy is. but i have problems with the moral and i continously get raped in this fight

@Iamconfusednow the spear guy and the girl with the wierd hair are from the guild the spear guy is cotman from ballterossa and he starts out with two long orange axes the girl is from one to im not sure where i think you unlock her from a side quest im not sure the morale hes just been playing for a while and getting tons of upgrades like enhancing weapons and stuff do you know how to do it now the only reason im watching is i accidentally deleted all of my game saves to put in portal2 so see U

I noticed everyone was all like "Try to be at least BR 35 or higher" and I was like "...what BR am I?" I finally figured out what it was. I was BR 16... How on Earth did I even make it THAT far, cause apparently I missed some serious training. XD Am now BR 25, and still training, hoping this match will be more fair. =/ It is a real challenge.

I'm BR 15 and it kinda sucks xD I get killed by the big guy and the girl in like 1 or 2 hits.. aside of that, getting here with this BR was kinda easy.. anyways, right now I'm doing training at the ocean of sand area (or something like that) with those pain in the ass spiritlords.. damn birds are useful :P they sometimes kill me though.. but usually Rush saves the day with omnistrike and nimble bladedancer 3 lol.. dualwield ftw :P

I think I've finally figured out why it's so damn hard.

You see, it has a design flaw.

All the lackeys are supposed to be wiped out early in the fight by Gae Bolg, which for some reason stays unavailable for the rest of the fight.

The fight is fairly easy when you get lucky and Gae Bolg becomes available.

I don't know if there's a workaround, but you could try sending David's division towards Castanea in the beginning.

BR does not matter here(PC) they lvl up just as you do. I was BR 51 (David-Permafrost ; Caedemon-Scattered Petals) and i got my ass handed to me on a silver plate. They will spam ridiculous AoE skills one after another.

I heard that there are some differences so I can speak only about the PC version.. anyways, I got to this quest first at BR14 lol.. it was easy enough getting there, but it seems there is some serious training ahead of me.. oh well, even grinding is fun in this game so its fine ^^

David needs to be the leader of a squad, so if you have him in say, Rush's squad, then you will never be able to use the gae bolg.

I beat it at a Battle Rank of 21 with a Gae Bolg attack to eliminate all of the lesser squads not named Castanea and Roeas. Then Roeas was distracted by the green friendlies and I was able to take down Castnae by focusing on him with my 2 squads of 5 people (David's Division) and (McGrady's League). Just remember to never stray from the healing+attacking commands, or your HP could drop to dangerous levels.

killing Roeas first is the worst thing you can possibly do... Castaneas will go into overdrive with his massive amounts of hp meaning you will have to survive being hit 5 times for much longer than with Roeas... Castaneas also has far more dmging attacks

Overdrive in this battle only lasts 1 turn, in the end it doesn't really make THAT much of a difference.

BR43, did it fairly easily my fifth try.

4 Unions x3 each. Rush led the first one, David led the second (this is imperative).

Stock up on 100 of each herb you can get, save game in town so you can reload if things go awry.

Attack the groups to your right (top left corner of the battle minimap), making sure you kill them in 1 turn. Standby twice with all groups, heal if you have the option. Pray Gae Bolg is available during the fourth turn, then kill Roeas first. If you don't get GB, reload.

I was BR 15 when i reached this battle and there is no way you can win it... you can go very far, but there is no way you can beat them... as far as the Morale... i play it in the pc there is no deifference with the X Box, in order to balance it you need to be doing well in the battle

this battle is easy.

1. kill 2 unions on the west side.

2. wait there and they will come after you

3. now you can use gae bolg to wipe them out

4. your other unions should focus on Castanea

if you re lucky enough rush will use his special ability.

Thanks m8 that was what i always did but never worked, if you close in to the bosses on the first round the Gae Bolg option almost always (if not always) comes up. everyone but the bosses die and if you target the big guy first the battle is over

try getting BR 26-40, usually morale shown at the start of battle measures how strong vs the enemy

i managed to beat it without gale bolg at BR 34 much to my surprise....(theres proof)

usually at 6:28....there is a good chance to have gale bolg provided that david's union have 80 AP

i was actually able to beat it at BR 12 now.

i just took out the guys on the right flank while my guest union took the guys on the left. they died fast and i was able to get the gae bolg to destroy all of the enemy unions. just make sure that you dont waste rush's AP so you can use omnistrike on one of the bosses. i ended up only have rush's troop alive at the end :D

this battle was pretty easy and im BR 31. I admit it took a few tries but that was because i didnt properly set up my unions before. My winning setup had 3 unions: 2 specifically for atking, both having at least a healer, and another union of 2 with the leader as a master healer class. So i basically had 2 atking groups deadlocking everyone while the healer team just kept showing the "heal ur hp" option.

It's actually better to kill Castanea first. Since when one of the leaders withdraws the surviving ones goes into Overdrive. Roeas attacks are all single union and she can be Flank Attacked.

Though if you've been "properly" grinding in the game you can probably survive Castanea going into Overdrive if you haven't pilled Unions on him.

1. To check your BR after you win a fight check the top right of the screen when it says victory it should say there

2. No, they change their own equipment when they have enough loot. Or they might ask you for a weapon that you cant use but they can

I got pretty lucky since I was able to do gae bolg by the time the last reinforcements came. All units except for the bosses went down and the chick went down in one turn after that. Hammer dude was still a beast though

hehe this was so funny - I had managed to destroy everyone (including the girl boss) until only the huge dude remained. I had all 5 unions at that point, but then the huge dude activated "overdrive", killing 4 of my unions, leaving my weakest and newest union with Pagis as the leader. It was only out of luck that Pagis' union wasn't destroyed. After that, I repeatedly made Pagis' union use either "Attack with Mystic Arts" or "Keep your HP up!" and after maybe 15 turns, I killed the huge dude :D

lol...yeah coincidence much? Same issue here. Supposedly the boss is actually easier if you fight it before rank 40 (?) since it learns a shitload of new stuff afterwards, but whatever. Youre right, the game is a constant screw job. Whenever you think you gt to heal or anything, the game basically says seeing as you only have 3 hp, no heal 4 u!' The game is fun...when its not annoying..which is like 98% of the time. Thank god I got it cheaper, else Id be pissed I paid 60 bucks for an ulcer lol.

Yeah, not too sure about ps3, but I have the xbox version, and its pretty much the same annoying bullcrap ugh. I finally got past gates of hell with pure luck, and realized THERES A FIGHT RIGHT FUCKING AFTER AHHH xD. Its not nearly as bad as the previous one, so all good.
