Have you guys ever thought, that Qur'an isn't just for recitation and breathlessly go on reciting without even understanding what it says. This makes Quran just a pleasurable way of entertaining the audience!!! Get it?? This isn't the mission the Holy Quran was descended upon the Holy Prophet! So b4 saying Mashallah, just think about this.!

Good point punjabian, but you are sorely mistaken. This is a form of adoration to the words of God. He is trying to give it the highest level of attention by beautifying it with his voice. It is not a performance. It is the manner in which he recited the words of the Quran that allow us to appreciate it just a little bit more. If this were the case, why bother even trying to recite it? Millions recite it and memorize it for the sake of earning God's mercy. Not to prove you otherwise ;)

But rumour has it that he was paid for this act actually.... and thats what I tried to explain... going on and on breathlessly, isn't an art!!! Listen to Imam Sudais!! He recites it in rhythmic beauty..... but if (though i ahve never heard about him), he too is paid.... he's wrong too!!!!

I mean do you like Quran being a source of fianncial benefit???? Well... I Don't!
