All three are important plus really shallow water helps keep the water flat. We are sailing in about 1 meter deep water and there are some areas where its less than half a meter. I'm using a cambered race sail and a carbon slalom board designed for topend speed.

That's really cool! How long does it take somebody to learn how to kite surf?

Thanks! Well, I'm not really sure about learning to kitesurf but windsurfing can be picked up with a few lessons and a season of practice. I've heard from others that kitesurfing is a bit easier to get the hang of however!
