  • Haha "that turbo is easily good for 8's" are you kidding me!? The MPT70 is good for 700 crank, 750 MAX if you're looking for just a few runs. Not to mention the fact that you'll need aftermarket balancing if you intend to hold anything close to that. 24 psi on pump and water + meth max, and not much more on alcohol. This is a street turbo; I have the same one on my 3000GT VR4.

  • What did you end up running with this car? Mine at 14 psi I got a 10.61 at 125 mph ran out of gear pretty early. Put down 523 rwhp.

  • @Oneslowstang - at 14-15psi, 5 speed and drag radials it went 10.60s@130-132 on the rev limiter. I believe with 4.10s and taller tires. It's not my car so I don't remember the exacts.

  • It's a custom-built kit from a guy in town using parts mostly from the turboforums. Power was low 500s rwhp at 14psi on a stock shortblock.

  • @slingshot2009 - that's not an "eBay turbo". Master Power is a Brazilian manufacturer who has a reputation for producing long-lasting and reliable turbos that make great power. theturboforums has pages of threads of people's experience with them.

  • @tabaristewart You can get 100% complete turbo kits for 500 bucks on ebay.If you mount them in the back like STS turbo does,the turbo will stay bout 500 degrees cooler than under the hood turbo kits.And if its not the best turbo,it will hold up nice because of the HUGE heat difference vs under the hood kits.ALWAYS use Z-max with turbo systems.It soaks into metal putting a protective barrier around all metal parts in the engine and turbo's.you dont need headers with a rear mount turbo kit. $

  • @Duckyistrippin well,those fan boy kits can make just as much hp as any other turbo kit.The exhaust A.R. housing is what controls turbo lag.the A.R. exhaust housing on an under the hood kit wont work on a rear mount.thats why some people give a rear mount a bad rep.its because they dont know what theyre doin.the heat in under the hood turbo kits are 90-95% of the reason why they have bearing and shaft failure.putting the turbo in the back,puts the extra weight near the rear axel,+ for traction

  • @Duckyistrippin Turbos can use heat to help it out,yes.but they do not THRIVE on heat.lol.its like youre saying without heat,a turbo wont work,or that it will not put out nowhere near the hp as an under the hood turbo kit.thats stupid.A rear mount turbo kit will make the same amount of HP per lb of boost as any under the hood turbo kit on the market.a rear mount kit will keep your oil,intercooler,and turbo's WAY cooler than an under the hood turbo kit.dont gotta buy headers for a rear mount kit.

  • @Duckyistrippin Plus its WAY less trouble to install a rear mount kit.Way less.Under the hood kits can be the biggest pain in the ass.You gotta cram everything under the hood.It makes your engine bay hot too.even at idle,the under hood kit is LOTS hotter than a rear mount.From pretty much any angle you look at it,rear mount is better in every way.Way Less heat and putting the extra turbo kit weight over the rear axels for more traction are the the major winning points for the rear mount kit.

  • @Duckyistrippin some people dont got all fuckin week to put a turbo kit on.and some people got families and 50 hour a weeks.Oh,lol,and the rear mount kits use the SAME kind of turbo's as you do on under the hood kits.And you can use the SAME intercoolers too.I went to a car show in Nashville where STS turbo was puttin their rear mount kit up against another ss camaro with an under the hood kit.They made almost the same exact amount of hp per lb of boost.rear mount kit was way cooler though

  • @Duckyistrippin boost IS the increase of airflow into the piston chamber.lol,thats why they call it boost,lol,because anytime you increase the airflow in the piston chamber,lol,the psi goes up.you cant increase airflow without increasing the psi(lbs of boost) inside the piston chamber.the turbo rams airflow into the piston chamber and therefore making the psi(lbs of boost) go up.when you say,''We all know hp is made by airflow. not boost,you said that,its the most stupid shit i ever heard. lol

Eventually, you will run hit the boost limit. Then What? oh yeah..get a bigger turbo, turn the boost down and start tuning from there. all the while making MORE POWER than you did before on the smaller turbo. amazing how that works.

  • I put a single turbo on my 92 vert a few years ago. What are you waiting for? Check my video. It's a stock 5 liter with a 62mm turbo. Once you do it, you'll be glad you did. It only took about 20 hours in my garage off and on to do. Pretty simple.

  • If you watch the video it list the turbo as being a T70. It's about 200-300 bucks on ebay and is good to about 600+HP.

  • Be careful; Several brands can be titled as a "T-70", but some of the cheaper ones can be junk and won't last very long.

  • The car in this video is not mine, but my car has the exact kit and a similar heads/cam/intake combo. The shortblock in my car is almost stock: Probe forged pistons, ARP hardware, .030 over, that's about it.
