The greatest athlete I've ever seen is Allen Iverson. 46" vertical leap, runs about a 4 minute mile, MONSTER football player with a canon for an arm, led the NBA in scoring for several years at 5'11". Whatever sport he chose he would be the best, tennis, MMA, X games, football but was amazing in the NBA against giants....

Fedor is amazing but I can't imagine dominating in running sports.

Emelianenko is a freak of nature and no other athlete even comes close. He started formal training at age 6 with judo and all of his movements are automatic.

His Combat Sambo resume will never be equalled either and his judo credentials are some of the best in the world.

Gus Johnson should be fired immediately also and never let within 100 yrds of Fedor.

Fedor has been just as dominate in MMA. He hasn't been beaten in 8 yrs(really never) and has been #1 for about 7 yrs.

Well I think there is no doubt that he is the greatest MMA fighter of all time.

Now when you compare him to other great athletes like MJ, Ali, Gretzky, Pele, etc. It's hard to compare and obviously Fedor was not blessed with the God given athletecism of those guys.

But I think when you talk about skill and knowledge in a particular sport and the pure ability to win, Fedor is second to none.

I agree that with all the sports(and them being so different), it's hard to draw a clear conclusion.
