Waste of time -- just reading a good book on the subject makes more sense.

I have a Chlorine pool and Ive been told that once a year I should put salt in the sand filter to help reactivate the sand, is this true or are the pool shops just trying to get me to buy salt???

We have never heard of adding salt to a sand filter.. The pool shop must be trying to sell you salt?

What you can do is every 2-3 years you can take the top 4 inches of sand and replace it with new.. That is the only preventative maintenance we recommend..

This is a great video to show people the importance of consulting a professional for their swimming pools. I am CPO certified and tech 2 certified pool tech. I always am looking for new information on pool care. Plus it helps the owners actually own pools and practice what they teach.

Overall, the video is informative and a good idea of what to expect from the video series is received. However, the animal noises in the background are a little distracting. Presenter needs to breathe properly as at each pause, we can hear each breath taken by the presenter, this could also be edited out.

Maybe more pool scenes, since this is the introduction video. You need to talk with your hands or put them out of sight. Hands folded in front of you makes you look nervous or like you are up to something.

When it comes to owning a pool I think everyone should know about the mantenance aspect of it. I think it could be overwhelming deciding which equipment to buy to be certain that the pool is correctly maintained. It seems like you really know what you're talking about and it's also great that you're a pool owner yourself so therfore you are speaking from experience as to what works best.

For me, a resource for pool maintenance is invaluable. I've always been bad at these things. I could never keep my fish alive because I didn't understand how to properly take care of the aquarium. Now with a pool, I'm lost. The series could prove to be a lifesaver for me.

Hi, thanks for commenting.. bigger is not better because you have to get the right volume and flow through your filter. To much or little flow, and it wont filter your water as effectively,
