I started doing these after a surgical repair on a torn labrum in my shoulder. The ball forces the shoulder muscles and joints to work for balance while strengthening them at the same time.
i suspect the fitness model doesnot know anything about body neutral alignment. he is looking forward damn it. And i wanted to use this video as a reference.
@captainspiwtf It means you have to train your stabilizers a bit more. You shouldn't just work out the pectoralis majors, but also minors. Same with MANY MANY MANY other muscle groups. It will REALLY help you in the long shot.
i actually found it easier than regular push ups. the closer your chest is to the ball, the easier it is to push up, because more of your weight is supported by the ball. start that way, then gradually move out.
Hi,i've been doing a certain type of exercise on the stability ball 85cm in diameter which is specific to my sport, rugby.what i do is, balancing in a kneeling position on the ball and passing a rugby ball with both hands to a mate about 10m away.i've a 75% success rate in which the pass was reasonably made. How wld u rate the level of difficulty;from easy to intermediate to difficult?Think if u can provide a general assessment for me?THanks!
Just watching for the guy XD

It's hard to keep the balance but I think that with some practice it will eventually become easier.

Adam, you make it look so impossibly effortless... *_*

Try putting your hands on a foam roller while your legs are on the exercise ball! Now that's a push-up!

this shit takes practice but its a really good workout even if u cant do it too good. try putting it next to a wall for extra support.

brianmclean1990 2 years ago
thats where you need to learn the balance. This is what is suppose to do but you need to learn the art of balance. makes more muscle work
virulentv 2 years ago
@captainspiwtf I have that problem too!

i think 5-10 reps with this exersize is too easy, and i bet that he can take lake 5 times more. Maybe a little extra weigt (backpack) would help

so, when you have the ball under your feet and perform the push up, that exersices the Top part of your chest, correct?
1ToNJaB 3 years ago
yes it would work the top more due to the angle but will still work the centre of the chest too
pdrums777 3 years ago
you cant isolate a single part of one muscle as the muscle fibers all work once under tension but it should feel like its at the top of the chest
