Why is there always some smartass who prides himself on giving negative reviews--to one of the most respected composers in classical music? It certainly brands the so-called "critic" as a real boor.
this is absolutely amaaaazing!!! i have no musical backround what so ever so could someone please breakdown the instruments used for me, i'm really curious to know :)
Classical music takes you to a whole new world. It takes you from the troubles and the sorrow in your life. All the pain and tears. It makes me wish I was there.
Is that an Oboe or English Horn (Cor Anglais) carrying the tune in the beginning? It's either high for an English Horn or low for an Oboe. I can't tell beyond that, unfortunately. A hunch tells me that it might be English Horn, but all I know for sure is it's a med-high double-reed sound.
Beautiful video Shania. I've often wondered what year ballet was created, by which country, the Italians, French or Russians I would guess. I think I'll research that someday. Thank you for uploading Swan Lake.
The beginnings of ballet can be traced to Italy during the 1400's at the time of the Renaissance.
It appeared in France when Louis XIV was in power. He believed that it made the courtiers look more elegant so he made everyone in his court walk on their tiptoes and perform on demand. He also started the world's first ballet school.
@Aetopus Maybe this might help, Ballet is a type of performance dance, that originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century, and which was further developed in France and Russia as a concert dance form.
Is this "Perfection" from Black Swan soundtrack?

Lovely pictures; 1:19, 1:44, and 2:28 were my favorites. 1:33 however is from Les Sylphides, not Swan Lake.
