There are and have been some pure drivers out there. Love 'em or hate 'em. They are the guys who keep their car in the running when their car is running poorly. They find a way to drive through almost any wreck. They know how and when to spin a guy without hurting the driver. They know the fastest way around any track. They make their own decisions. There's a reason why those drivers win multiple championships...
They need to do something to NASCAR to make it more interesting. I mean, what skill is required to drive 400 laps of the same oval circuit? Looks like anyone that can stay awake can win a race ! Why don't they add some S bends or something to make the sport more interesting ?
the only reason dale didn't have more crashes is because he caused most of them, he was a menace i'm sorry he died but he was doin what he loved when he passed. i'm glad he isn't racing anymore...
The word "RACING" does not exist in nascar anymore because that's not what is happening. This video shows REAL RACING from the good ol days. If Davey Allison was still alive he would have a couple of championships under his belt at least. R.I.P. Dale. Nascar will never be the same without him.
@blazinsc2 however, the best save/moment in NASCAR in my opinion was the 1987 all star race at charlotte where Earnhardt went on to win it after being pushed into the grass only to bring it back onto the track. This man knew how to drive that's for damn sure. :)

@Reistart uh for your information stock cars do race on road courses.. infineon, road america, watkins glen i think 1 more but i can't remember so yeah.. and if you had any brains at all you would know that crashes in nascar usually occur from a tire going at 160 mph or they cant tell if a car is in there blind spot and clip them because again they are racing very close to each other at over 150mph. there is also ALOT that goes into car setups and achieving fast lap times so again EDUCATE URSELF

@AndrewJThomas97 the funny thing about this is that since the COT came out, Jeff Gordon has almost as many top-fives and AS many top-tens as Jimmie Johnson. He has also finished second at least 10 times since his last victory last year, so he has about 25 second place finishes. Hendrick is simply giving Johnson better cars and Gordon is getting older. You would have had to watch Nascar since 1990 to understand any of the points you make and if Sr were alive, he'd be 60 and retired at least 5

They need to do something to NASCAR to make it more interesting. I mean, what skill is required to drive 400 laps of the same oval circuit? Looks like anyone that can stay awake can win a race ! Why don't they add some S bends or something to make the sport more interesting ?

The word "RACING" does not exist in nascar anymore because that's not what is happening. This video shows REAL RACING from the good ol days. If Davey Allison was still alive he would have a couple of championships under his belt at least. R.I.P. Dale. Nascar will never be the same without him.

@blazinsc2 however, the best save/moment in NASCAR in my opinion was the 1987 all star race at charlotte where Earnhardt went on to win it after being pushed into the grass only to bring it back onto the track. This man knew how to drive that's for damn sure. :)

@blazinsc2 He "almost" saved it. The car nosed into the wall and he finished 21st. This was 1995 spring Talledaga race. Martin won Gordon was second and Morgan Shepherd, who wrecked Dale here finished 3rd

I grew up a race fan and nothing pisses me off more than people who don't give race car drivers the proper respect they deserve. They risk their lives every time they start a race and this video is a great example of how tough these guys are and what balls of steel they have. No other sport comes even close to the risk they go through. PERIOD! You would be DEAD if you crashed like this in a regular car! And this is typical for these guys. Great Video!

Dale was a good driver w/ a good crew and good equipment. That's why I could never figure out why he was such a poor sport and a genuine turd on the track.
If you had a better car and could pass him on the right, he would just crash you out.

@Reistart uh for your information stock cars do race on road courses.. infineon, road america, watkins glen i think 1 more but i can't remember so yeah.. and if you had any brains at all you would know that crashes in nascar usually occur from a tire going at 160 mph or they cant tell if a car is in there blind spot and clip them because again they are racing very close to each other at over 150mph. there is also ALOT that goes into car setups and achieving fast lap times so again EDUCATE URSELF

@AndrewJThomas97 the funny thing about this is that since the COT came out, Jeff Gordon has almost as many top-fives and AS many top-tens as Jimmie Johnson. He has also finished second at least 10 times since his last victory last year, so he has about 25 second place finishes. Hendrick is simply giving Johnson better cars and Gordon is getting older. You would have had to watch Nascar since 1990 to understand any of the points you make and if Sr were alive, he'd be 60 and retired at least 5
