you can speed up rendering by saving IRmap, so vray dont need to calculate GI every frame. But ist only usablw in scenes where isnt moving objects, lights and other stuff.
Gorgeous lighting but the room needs some color. When a room is too white it feels empty. Also how do you like using maya for archviz? Years ago i worked in maya but switched to 3ds max because i felt it was a lot more practical for architecture.
@RaGaZzAcCiO23@RaGaZzAcCiO23: You're right, it needs some more color. But actually that was just a test. Check out the Gallery Appartment I did, that looks a lot better I think. About Maya and Archvis: I'm also now switching to 3DS Max because of the reasons you mentioned. Still I love Maya, it's the program I use since 10 years. Looking forward to VRay RT GPU..
@windowsvista113 LOL are you serious? You actually PAYED $3000 for Maya and you're on here asking how to use it? First off 3D packages are VERY VERY deep programs and it takes a very long time to learn. Its not something you can just jump into and start making things. There are hundreds of tools you need to learn and understand before you even think of creating anything. I suggest you take a class or invest in some in depth video tutorials. Learning 3D requires ALOT of time and dedication.
hi, i really like the camera movement. i am using maya vray since from 2 month.. but i am still not getting right settings for animation render. if you can tell me those settings it will be very great.
Dear I become a big fan of yours after watching this video and i need a help from you I am also using vray but i couldnt get this type of result in maya check out my work by typing aatif306 or aatif showreel on youtube. Actually i dont understand the settings so can you please send me these settings on my email Aatif_aarif@hotmail.com
umm i'm a maya user but i switched to max for vray, now that theres a vray version for maya i still find 3ds max vray easier to use is more intuitive even though you have control with the shaders, maya doesnt have photometric lighting which makes maxs interior lighting so much better plus i've compared big scenes on maya and max and max has proven to be more effective and theres the vray RT for max as well
@Yrgen2 Slow renderer are you kidding me? Its one of the fastest ones out there. Calculates lighting and displacements incredible quick. They even have their realtime renderer out now for 3ds max. You obviously dont know how to use it if you think its slow. Its probably 3x faster than mental ray. Being good at vray like any renderer means knowing how to optimize your settings for a good balance of speed and quality.
of course maxwell...which is as mental ray far superior than vray is just that everybody can play with vray and get very good result... but to work with maxwell or mental ray it´s more needed than just fiddeling around a bit. Of course vray is a nice render engine no discussion about that it´s just i can see a vray render from a mile away they look more or less all the same to me.. just my 2 cents
Maxwell is generally easier to configure, but both can produce the same results if configured correctly. Maxwell should also be considered useless for animations.
it's really fantastic bro but how can i render a scene like this i use v -ray for max and sketchup and their out is jpeg how can i render a hole animation like this ?
@JohnFelipo it was about 10 minutes per frame. I rendered the animation in twice the speed and then reduced it again in AfterEffects by 50%. That works great!
wow so let me get it right you are saying that all of this level of realism took only 18 ??? i must get a quad core right now i have dual core . very fantastic by the way
Man, feel like I am the only one not asking about technical parameters etc., but could you please reveal what music is that? :) It's really nice a fits into the scene... A spectacular scene byt the way. Hope to be doing as good as you soon. :)
Oh, that is actually a song from YouTube. The original track was deleted because of copyright issues. Thanks for the compliment and happy holidays to all!
18 Hours is really short. Everything is rendered with GI! Especially The blurred reflection of the wodden floor takes a long time to render. Actually VRay is very fast, I guess with Mental Ray it would have taken twice the time.
How fast does Vray for Maya render on a machine like urs? Also Is there a V-ray RT for maya?? From what i saw, V-Ray RT is really fast, does that mean people wont need renderfarms?
VRay RT is really fast but if you want to render in in Production quality mode, you would still need a Renderfarm or wait a few nights. Right now VRay RT is not available for Maya but they plan a GPU based VRay and that will be available for Maya a well
I never really liked Mental Ray, although it is a great renderer where you can get very good results. What I don't like is that it is much more technical, you can adjust about every little parameter of the lights, materials, cameras etc. Vray is "easier" to learn, but still don't expect that you'll get superrealistic results "right-out-of-the-box"...
i'd like to give vray a try, but I haven't seen any good tutorial on vray for maya, would you recommend me a website or something please?(by the way ... Maybe you would like to see some of my works. they're also on youtube)
wow this will certainly be of great use for arch jobs. looks awsome and render time seems very fair.... What machine did you exactly use buddy? congratulations
Thanks, yes, because of the possibility to prerender the light and shadows (only for non-moving objects), there is no flickering and the rendertime is that short. I have a Quadcore Q6600 with 4 Gigs of RAM, so really nothing special...
wow... super cool...

its funny to see how you use twixtor to reduce render times with 50% ;D. i use same technique.
you only have to watch out with objects moving faster trough the screen like at 0:04 and 0:08, you can see a bit of warping.
But GREAT job!
