Personally I liked it. Thanks for posting. I don't understand the negative comments. It's a high school marching band, and they did a great job. You think it's easy for a HS band to play rock and roll?
A large band like this one is clearly TOO LARGE and therefore unwieldy and awkward. Even the drum introduction was BAD - at least that could have been much better. The director needed to listen to the original to make changes.
You are right that it was too large. That is no longer the case since we just opened the third high school. You do need to realize that this was in a gymnasium with 250 band members and there is a bad echo with my video camera. A marching band can't sound like the original since it wasn't originally a marching band song. That's why it's called and arrangement.
this is REALLY good. i love band and youth orchestra arrangements! (maybe cuz im in an orchestra myself! one of our songs is on youtube, so just ask :) )
Why do you listen to marching band songs if you don't like the arrangement? Marching bands and rock bands are totally different, they will not sound the same.
I just believe that songs should be left alone. The original artists never intended them to be played by a big marching band that's why they do not sound right. Tusk by Fleetwood Mac for example is made for a marching band...
first of all S.T.F.U. If you going to make that argument then go ahead and make the argument that anyone who has ever made a song in their life, meant it to be only played on the instruments involved. BUT WAIT THERES MORE. G.T.F.O. because you should be complaining about the gay as remixes to this song that are horrible. Instead you try and pick on the marching band. Just go die in a fire and let the rest of us enjoy marching band song covers. ya flaming troll.
i'm sure it was amazing in reailty, but the audio recorder isn't really made to handle that all much. if these guys went to a studio (one large enough) it'd sound even better.
Carried the essence of the song as marching band could do, I like the song and do it it as a fun karaoke song.

@Xangman1302
I wouldn't say the band is too large... its a marching band, meant for playing on a football field and not a gymnasium.
