  • The nay-sayers show their true colors by taking time to leave insulting comments

  • @DrHonestruth1959 @DrHonestruth1959 Actually, this video and it's concurrent commentary show remarkable restraint. Which I find stunning in itself due to the huge disservice that it does to the science of geology. I know it's over 8 months since your post on this, but I've got just a little bit of data that kinda shows how a literal interpretation of Genesis is incorrect. Only about 9 trillion cu meters of data. And that's just to start. Care to hear more?

  • @NorthForkFisherman Ive heard it all over the last 35 years, but by all means lay it on me.

  • @DrHonestruth1959 Excellent. I'm glad you've responded. Like I said, it's about 9 trillion cu meters of Permian inland evaporite salt that shows the truth of the tale. The amount of heat required for the formation of this one deposit alone directly precludes a global flood due to the deleterious effects on the environment. It's simply too much heat. Additionally, this is just one deposit of a great many. And there are other features (anhydrites, caliches, etc) that support this fact.

  • @NorthForkFisherman So because it must have been outrageously hot at some point in the past that debunks the global flood theory?

  • @DrHonestruth1959 Bingo. The heat from these processes directly contradicts the flood story as taken literally by most creationists. All these formations, being made in a single year? Not possible without a complete and permanent sterilization of the earth's surface. It's far more likely that a local flood, while severe, became part of the presiding folklore and simply grew in the telling over time. Additionally, the entire mass of the fossil record itself contradicts the Genesis accounts.

  • @NorthForkFisherman The heat from "these processes" contradicts a global flood? The processes that you believe "must" have taken place to form "all these formations"?

  • @DrHonestruth1959 Actually, It's knowledge, not belief. Laws of chemistry are just that, as are the laws that govern the flow of heat. But you are at least correct in the first part. Yes, these processes directly contradict a global flood. You don't really have too much to say on the matter other than to restate my data. Have you none of your own that supports it?

  • @NorthForkFisherman Its just belief. You think its knowledge, but that doesn't make it knowledge. Study your precious salt with an open mind rather than an indoctrinated mind, and you will see that it must have, or at least could have been other processes that formed it. My original point was that when anticreationist leave comments on Christian vids its pathetic. You seem to have taken issue with that point. I enjoy that.

  • @DrHonestruth1959 Too bad the laws of chemistry aren't influnced by your wishful thinking. The salt is all second cycle with a very low bromine count in ppm. And you missed the point about pollen (which in itself directly refutes the flood). And I still note you seem to be unable to refute my data. My mind is quite open, to facts, not myths. Provide proof, and you might have an audience. Simply parroting things over and over, well, now that's pathetic.

  • @NorthForkFisherman You have provided no proof, and neither has anyone else. Your the one parroting things over, and over. As far as your mind being open to facts, not myths, well, do you believe in dawinian evolution? If so your mind is open to myths! My original point was that when anticreationist leave comments on videos like this one that is pathetic. Especially when they respond to 8 month old comments! I can only conclude that your a troll.

  • @DrHonestruth1959 "You have provided no proof"? Really? Look back about 3 weeks ago, "Doctor". As far as your personal opinion of me? It simply does not matter. It's about what the data says. Now, I asked you if you wanted me to elaborate, but you've not responded so I shall endeavour to explain my data as clearly as I can. Additionally, as I'm a molecular biologist, I know evolution is a fact, but our topic here is the Noachian Flood, so I'll stay on that. (continued)

  • @DrHonestruth1959 What we're going to examine today is the Opeche Shale. This is a formation that runs from the Dakotas down to Texas. In the Williston Basin section, at the deepest point is a deposit of salt that is 91 meters thick. Now the area of deposition is 188,400 sq km, so dividing by 2 to get an average thickness of 45 meters you are left with approx 9 trillion cu meters of NaCl. With a density of 2,160 kg/m^3 this represents the evaporation of 540,000 cubic kilometers of seawater.

  • @DrHonestruth1959 Now it takes 10^24 joules to evaporate this much water. That is two times more heat than would be necessary to raise the temperature of the entire atmosphere by more than 100 degrees Celsius. Ergo - Noah and his little pleasure cruise - parboiled where they sat. And this is just one of hundreds of formations like this all over the world. And we've not even covered anhydrites, caliches, buried desert pavement, pollen data, biomass issues, or meteoric events. (continued)

  • @DrHonestruth1959 And of course, references: Wilgus, Cheryl K. and William T. Holser, 1984. "Marine and Nonmarine Salts of Western Interior, United States," AAPG Bulletin. p. 765-766. This clearly shows that this is all second-cycle deposition and covers both area and pollen data. For the rest, dig up some college level chemistry and physics texts. Shall we continue? There's so many other lines of evidence that directly contradict a flood it hard to know where to start. Pollen?

  • @DrHonestruth1959 Been the better part of a week....had enough time to run to AiG for a cut and paste answer, or would you like more time?

  • FIND OUT ABOUT THE BLACK HOLE IN THE BOOK OF ENOCH!

  • My God is real. He created this world about 6,000 years ago and He watched as every proud evolutionist was born and He watches as their pride sends their proud souls to Hell away from Christ. And you are right about only one thing, He will make you believe when He wants. Don't hold your breath though. The Bible states that some are pre-destined to salvation and others to condemnation. But don't worry, Hell is just to punnish, not forever but for aionion, (a greek word that you should study).

  • Creationists have money, not to invest in science to improve our lives, but to waste it on churches and propaganda for their imaginary god. If you think that old papa God exists and created universe of 560 billion years in size than this god doesn't need any defending and any churches, he will make us believe when he wants

  • Christians created Science. The Constitution is deeply indebted to Christians. Christians helped to create the idea of the University. Christians give a moral standard that treats all people with love. Christians have given much to all these areas.

  • Science may have been found by Christians but it is no longer furthered by creationists is it now; Christian can still be scientist but people who put the bible before science don't make very good ones.

The founding fathers were not Christians.

Christians give us the moral standard that women and gays are lesser people and that slavery is OK. how is that a good moral standard. Morals don't come from a book they come from a working community, without moral communities fail.

  • No. You are correct. More Atheist and other religions are now influencing what Christians created, and w/o a Biblical basis it will be for the worse. You are incorrect to say that putting the Bible before "science" is wrong. Science is based on philosophical assumptions, if these philosophical assumptions are not guided by the Morality ascribed in the Bible then "Science" will turn into something like Nazism. Youtube is not enough to discuss further. Email me if you'd like to discuss more.

  • Destroy the wisdom of the wise and replace it with the foolishness of the foolish? That's a great plan! If Paul had wisdom at all, I think he'd be impressed with what man has learned.

    1 Corinthians 13:11

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things... ...And quit believing.

  • What a sad person you are. Grow up and obtain faith from somewhere. Become a man and put away your childish prattling.

Choose life and believe in my Jesus. I did and that was 27 years ago and I have never regretted it.

God is wonderful, and He believes in you although you don't believe in Him.

  • I glad to know you are all growed up now and still believes in the Easter Bunny, oops, I mean Jeesus.

I've been there and done that, the religious thing, that is. I was good little churchy boy, baptised in the lake, married in an Assembly of God church, believed the best I knew how but eventually realized that it was all nothing more than wishful thinking, making constant excuses for why God wasn't actually there.

  • This man is a moron!

  • GMBofWIS, "Evolution is a fairy tale for grown-ups. This theory has helped nothing in the progression of science. It is useless." *Louis Bounoure, Le Monde et Vie (October 1983); quoted in the Adovate , March 8, 1984. Former director of the Strasbourg Zoological Museum, later director at the French National Center for Scientific Research. • Which proves exactly... what? For every quotation, for every scientist, for every scrap of "evidence" that might support creationism, there are literally thousands that debunk it, mountains of evidence that testify to the truth and reality of evolution. Call them all fools if you wish, it changes nothing. I'm always amused at being told I'm foolishly believing in fairytales by people who trust in an invisible, magical sky-daddy who made them the centerpiece of the universe.

  • GMBofWIS, For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 1Corinthians 1:18,19

  • Yes, it certainly is foolishness! We agree on that much! Personally I don't care what some purportedly divine book written some 2000 years ago has to say about much of anything. You should read the book called "Misquoting Jesus" and understad how mangled your divine word has become in modern translations, including KJV.
