@brandon8698 a 15w soldering iron should be used on delicate electronics / pcb's, this is to make sure the conponents dont get too hot and break, but ive always used a 30w iron and never had a problem

@bhwollen no there wont be red lights too, but when you change em, and your xbox breaksdown, the original LEDS flash very slightly in the way that red lights do.

I changed my last xbox ones to blue, and my xbox got rrod, and could still see it has 1 red light by looking closely at the LEDs u put in there, they flashed slightly,

@getale You can find these on many sites, simply search "0603 SMD led" on google and many results will show. Uniqueleds, llamma, mycustomxbox, and many more sell these. These leds are not at all common, so you have to order them. (they're not found in stores)

@getale On the back of the LED is usually a T sideways or a triangle, all you need to know is that the shape points to the negative (the bottom of the T points to negative, tip of triangle points to negative) You could always test the LED through trial and error, if you mess up, "float" the LED and try again.

Are they in a black plastic strip? If so just take the top vinyl off.
