  • It is pretty cool, until the ads came in.

  • Do you have the tabs for this song? I'd love to play it myself

  • Very good!!

  • hay

  • I remember this song.. in a music box..

  • I'm hypnotized

  • beutiful...

  • Chinks need to stick to Chinky music.

  • @patel136 you are a kharma analyzer yes? with this kind of thinking what do you think your karma be? can't believe there are still people like you who use that word and so narrow minded. Shame for a middle age man to think this way!

  • @youngchief09 Which word? Is the word you mean "karma" or "Chink"??

  • @patel136 the term you use for Chinese people.

  • @youngchief09 Oh.......the reason they are to be abhored is that they so delight in tolture.

  • @patel136 fuck you! :-D

  • @patel136 And you say this why?

  • I've got the sheet music for that in my channel! For piano, tho, check it out!

  • Great job ;-)

And in a different key than what I normal play it in - so now I wil have to

    start practing all over LOL

  • u fcked up you skipped a whole page dick

  • @sAinT5019 do it better and post a vid, you fucking douchbag

  • @sAinT5019 I suppose you can do it better and without skipping a page. I'll wait for you to play.

  • Thank you for not doing the silly Dorian mode version :D

  • @Gorfinhofin folk music has always and will continue to adapt to the preferences of contemporary society. That silly Dorian mode was all the rage for, well, quite a while. We 21st century types seem to shun it. Maybe Dorian mode is gone forever... I doubt it!

  • This is from the early Revolutionary war. Children played it on their pan flutes to signal the British soldiers upon arrival.

  • Very well done, my friend!

  • very nice

i could happily listen to that 4 a while longer

    peace

  • thanks for the score. greetings from Colombia.

  • beautiful

  • Bravo. Simply beautiful. Thanks.

  • I have always liked the melody of this song. Great job playing it.

  • i have always loved this gay song ever since my parents gave me a lil toy piano

  • How did this get onto a topic of ww2? its a piece of classical English music, in a time when America never existed... So how did we get onto a topic of America?

  • @Riseofshano

ehhh, youtubers... Lives in the real world get too unbearable so they come here and bitch and piss and moan about stupid shit. Naturally, some other twat gets all worked up and posts some bitching and moaning of his own.

Then one starts to lose the argument and changes the topic so he now has the upper hand. Soon enough, the topic is "America's biggest fuck up" or "Why the UK sucks bawlz"

that's my theory as to why WWII is being "discussed" on an English folk song video.

  • @Riseofshano actually as an off topic america did exist but it was either known as Merika by the egyptians who knew of its existence or ragnarok by the vikings who also knew of it. also the templars knew about it and is rumored to have escaped to america after being expelled as an order.then of of course the native indians(who also allegedly werent native at all) was there and the mayans and so on and so forth...so america did exist....just not the one you know.

  • @DissidentHumanity 'America' is the more common name of the country 'The United States of America', which was brought into existence in 1776, after this song was written. AMERICA didn't exist, but the land did. The idea hadn't even been formed yet. The Native Americans (not native indians) were the first native people of this land, giving them the name 'Native Americans'

  • also in the movie how the west was won

  • is this the mozart version or "later" version? coz the one i had was in a different key somehow

  • oooohhhhwww ja....genau dat hab ich gesucht...

  • Man this isn't from Romantic times. It's a Renaissance music. It's great but you're playing that like a Tarrega or Barrios song.

  • can you believe such a buatifal song was left anonamous no one took cred for it

  • Very Nice , You can check my version of greensleeves on my chennel too:)

  • okay, what acctually happened was americans just sat their and watched the germans invade nearby countries. the did protest but didn't do anything. only until the bombing of perl harbour on 7 dec 1941 did they wage war on the axies.

  • @MrFunnylicious Not true, the united states Armed British and all Ally forces for four years before getting involved in the war. We also sent pilots to help aide britain during the blitzkrieg portion of the war over britain. In 1940 one year before we were involved in the war we sent a large naval force over to the phillipines where general George C Marshall trained and helped fight the japanese soldiers away from claiming the independent nation.

  • @blueyourmom123 and we all lived happily ever after

  • My nipples dance to this song

  • I dont think this guy is Japanese, he looks Koren but correct me if I'm wrong.

  • This is amazing :D

  • Exceptional.

  • That was beautiful.

  • i heard this song is about 500 years old, it was mentioned in one of Shakespeare's

    plays.

  • Its very clean sounding, very well done mate.

  • lol an asian guy playing greensleeves ...asians rock!! YEAHH

  • This chord version is much better than the chord version found in Parkening's book. Thanks. Will learn it today.

  • Comment removed

  • @chengyanslc I mean I prefer this arpeggio version. But I would like to delete the first sentence.

  • first song i ever played on guitar

but as simple as possible version (only melody)

  • An unforgettable melody

  • What's a tender sound of guitar!

    And seem you arrenged Greensleeves

in a popular style, that's fun.

    Superb technique.

  • A nice song, the closest thing the English have to blues.

  • @VideoGameMaster56

Other than, y'know, Eric Clapton and everyone else in the British Blues explosion. :P :)

  • @9minuterecords I meant traditionally. Blues was an invention totally American in origin, you know.

  • yea very good mate, slightly off time here and there and sounded ike u hit a rong note near start too, but v good overall

  • Nice performance!

  • very good. compliments!

  • Nice work there. Good speed. Sometimes some people play it too fast.

  • where can i have that tablature ???

  • It is said to be written for Henry VIII BUT! it hasnt been proven. Although it does portray the rejection of Henry from Anne Boleyn in the lyrics.

  • very nice, clean and very well done.

  • Uh he looks like pedro VOTE FOR PEDRO =D

  • Good, :)

  • This was written For King Henry the 8th and a chink shouldnt be playing this.

  • @PunkRocka25 tard

  • yea honestly if we wouldnt of helped britian you guys would be speaking german over there right now so yea

  • Great playing. nice one

Just to clear up some comments: Henry 8th didn't compose this, it's a myth. WW2 including the war in the pacific was won jointly by the allies, although if any nation deserves more credit it's the Soviet Union who suffered the most fatalities. And as someone who's lived in England all his life - it's shit here.

Just keep comments to do with the music guys, or you just make yourselves sound stupid.

    great post joe

  • thus is an irish song ya dumb fuken faggot

  • @magua4 Worng.. Its a english song, written by herny the 8th

  • very nice Joe...

  • BRITISH PEOPLE TO LIVE FOREVER. ENGLAND MOTHERLAAAAAAND!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, because you are clearly prone to discuss war on a video of Greensleeves.. Idiots...

  • Makes me actually proud to be British again.

  • So pretty :D

  • ooo i like.. i know a crappy version i like your one

  • it was so beautiful...

  • Very nice...!!!!

    Thanks....:)

  • Nice !!!

  • nice one dude!

  • Joe你好,我是个初学者,虽然平时要工作,但也在刻苦的练习,看了你的视频,真的让我感觉很振奋,希望我的刻苦努力,可以使我达到你那样的成就,希望可以和你成为Utube好友。谢谢你。

  • ha, never heard it on guitar before, excelent job :D i play it on piano, but sounds good

  • very nice

  • very nice job - thank you

  • I have enjoyed your performance very much Joe, thank you.

  • Bravissimo!!

  • This is a little different arrangement for Greensleeves, who wrote?

  • good touch !

  • Very nice!!!

This was King Henry VIII's favourite song.

  • @carthaginian5 who cares?

  • Very nice!!!

  • Nicely done!!!

  • Wow, this was beautifully played. (:

Favourited. One of my fave songs ever. It's so beautiful.

  • ITS REALLY NICE ! THANK YOU FOR SHARING

  • Nice guitar. I wish I had a guitar, and could play anything at all... : )

Enjoyed this version of "Greensleeves", btw...

  • Guinni greaser fuk.

  • nope, its not Italian or British - It's English.

  • great job but one thing bothers me and its the title and folk came 1960s and this song is much older (1500s) so would you change it?

  • well palyed, congrats :o)

  • MaGiCaL mATe

  • Henry VIII didn't write this, it's an unknown poet and Henry took all the credentials.

  • Didn't it more of like he commissioned a musician to write a song for his wife. I always thought that's how Greensleeves came to be.

  • Yes, that's exactly it! Then he took the credentials :) I say that, but there is nothing certain. We have no proofs of anything on that matter, only scholars' judgement.

  • I said that because the description says, "written by Henry the 8th king of england " whilst he didn't write it at all.

  • Awsome !

  • Beautiful!

  • Well done a very great interpretation of this song (:

  • one of the best on youtube!

  • your amazing

  • Skillful interpretation. Exemplary!

  • the tempo is right

  • short shorts

  • How do you know that, I always feel it was danceable, 6/8. but maybe its close to silent night??

  • SWEET and pensive

  • Well done! Beautiful interpretation of it!

And you guys fighting over here, go get a life, listen to the music and PEACE!

  • And yes dude, I like the video, you play it well!

  • history books..facts...documents....are written by people...and what most people do is LIE...so dont count on them...

  • Strange though how most of them tend to say the same thing... Alot of research goes into writing them, research = gathering FACTS, not lies....

  • conspiracy...it existed sicne mankind...so i wouldnt find it surprising if all we know are just lies....people always dissapoint others...they dissapoint others trust in them so...anyway its just my opinnion...

  • why cant anyone just enjoy this beautiful music? It's not a racist song. It's a beautiful love song.

  • Hey you guys, how about we keep the politics and bullshit comments out of this and just listen to the music?? How's that for a novel idea?? I love this song and this guy did an awesome job!

  • I like it! good job!

  • very good, I liked!

  • You r wonderful gitar player. Keep it up!

  • hey pow3334 wake up....england did not spread democracy wordwide...it was greece...remember who first creatd democracy????also it was not only england that fought against the germans,,,it was greece as well....and generally the balkan nations...although i have to agree with you....atfatw is just an asshole...you can't just say something like that for a nation with a history that originates from the 3 century after christ.....and besides what makes him think his country is better???

  • Greece "founded" democracy but did not spread it to the 4 corners of the earth... Democracy died with the Roman Empire and returned slowly throughout English/British history, beginning with Magna Carta, Habaes Corpus etc... Just look at the commonwealth and the former empire... India, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Falklands, and the list goes on. BRITAIN spread democracy worldwide and fought for it for centuries, NOT Greece.

  • and what does all this have to do with anything related to this video?

  • Absolutely nothing, I feel obliged to stamp out ignorance when I see it, too many people in this world speak without having a clue what they're speaking of. It just gets to me, so I set them straight... Ignorance is in a way, the root of everything that is wrong today on the world....

  • *in the world...

  • pow3334 the author of many silly postings

ignorance is not the root of many problems egomanical chauvanism an english specialty is

  • Oh my god... Get over yourself seriously. You called England the most racist country ever like a week ago, yet you live in the United States, a country that had a genocide policy on its native American population, was segregated until the late 1960's and so on and so forth. Ignorance is a HUGE problem in this world. Look at the idiots that blow themselves up, and drive planes into buildings. They're ignoran. Understanding history is not a problem, ignorance of any actual facts is.

  • pow3334, did you know that britain commited the first genocide ever by hunting with bounty kill pay the black people of tasmania? the racist Indian policy was founded by the british during the colonial days your hands are red with the blood of many Indian women and children. you people are like pyschotic hypocrites like charles manson who absolutely dies not have a clue that what he caused to happen was very evil and he did an evil act

  • Wow, you know not what you speak of again... The Old Testament describes the genocides of Amalekites and Midianites.[7] Jones quotes Jerusalem-based Holocaust Studies Professor Yehuda Bauer: "As a Jew, I must live with the fact that the civilization I inherited ... encompasses the call for genocide in its canon."[11]

  • Ben Kiernan, a Yale scholar, has labeled the destruction of Carthage at the end of the Third Punic War (149146 BC) "The First Genocide".[10] Quoting Eric Margolis, Jones observes that in the 13th century the Mongol horsemen of Temüjin Genghis Khan were genocidal killers (génocidaires)[7] who were known to kill whole nations leaving nothing but empty ruins and bones.[12]

  • The spanish did it in South America, the carthaginians did it, the mongols did it, the russians did it, the chinese did it, the ottoman empire did it(turkey), the indonesians(in east timor), cambodia did it, argentina did it, and so on and so forth... yet the onlyone that bothers you, is the british... that's weird... yet the british did it on such a smaller scale than any of the afore mentioned nations and peoples... GO READ A HISTORY BOOK. AGAIN, LEARN WHAT YOU SPEAK OF BEFORE YOU SPEAK OF IT

  • I am familiar with the conventional first genocide against the people of Armenia,

which incidentally the vile damned english helped with. you've left out the most well know genocide( it figures) against the jews. your comment about the english killing nowhere near the amounts of men women and children that others had shows your 'english morals' a murderer who says 'I only killed 10 people 'is still the same with Heimler who killed with hilter probably 15 million people a damned killer

  • No, I'm just rebutting your statement that the British were the first ever to engage in genocide.,. Furthermore, it wasn't the British government but colonists that engaged in the acts you speak of...

  • How could the British possibly help when they were at war with the Ottoman Empire(the ones that commited the Armenian Genocide) when the Genocide happened??? Read up on it, Armenian Genocide 1915, smack dab in the middle of World War One.... Strange how you claim that enemies took a break from war to massacre the Armenians... Now if you would GO READ WHAT YOU SPEAK OF BEFORE YOU SPEAK OF IT, you might not look like such an idiot every time you open your mouth,,..,

  • Gadzooks! you sir ARE a moron. the genocide lasted until 1922 brito re armed turks and azeri so they could continue ro rape mirder and enslave all to get their grubby vile filthy hands on the baku oil fields which I am delighted to say fell to the soviets

  • Well according to every source I can find, the British actively pressured the Turkish government to stop the massacres... I can also find no reference to the British re-arming the Turks such as you claim. The facts are that Britain, France and Greece occupied Turkey and fought them in the Turkish War of Independence, which resulted in the ouster of the allies in 1922... So, Gadzooks, YOU "sir" have to LEARN TO READ. GO LEARN WHAT YOU SPEAK OF BEFORE YOU SPEAK OF IT!

  • pow333, sad to say you are a moron. your kind always prefers bull manure to the truth. its obviously of no use trying to enlighten you or converse any longer with you.

I can't believe the depths of your self willed ignorance. you sir are quite a piece of work!

  • GO READ ABOUT IT!!! I'm not making it up!! I've checked out several different sources... You are dead wrong, just adimt it.. No don't admit it, go read it for yourself... Seriously. Put the blame on who it belongs, there's a big difference between the truth and what you claim to be the truth... Either you're an idiot that will say anything to sell your point of view, you're an idiot who purposefully ignores the facts or you make the shit up as you go along... Either way, you are dead wrong...

  • interestingly sephardica jews in turkey long the evil friends of turk conspired with them to kill Armenians so they could get their houses and lands and cars money etc. just reading a few books by biased 'historians' does not make you an expert merely a fool!

  • rhey did not occupy turkey long turks reorganized and defeated british and expelled them from that country. turk defeated british earler in the gallipoli campaign too. its very easy to defeat brits and certainly the french. when russia communists were moving into the caucausus ingnoring the fact that azeri turks helped substantially with the genocide brits gave them british guns to fight communists azeri were already communists and did not fight them but murdered more armenians instead.

  • Also, the UK is an island (plus Ireland), so they were more detached from the action of WWII than, say, France. Hello, geographical advantage.

I'm not dissing the Brits, though, just doing some observation.

  • I think America had a far larger geographical and demographic advantage.

  • Yes. America did well...in the Pacific. Who cares about the war in the Pacific though?

  • It was alot more important to America than to Britain.

  • I'll admit, America did do well in the Pacific, and Britain was exceptionally bad.

  • But that was the Pacific...

  • What do you mean about Britian doing bad in the Pacific? My father served in the Pacific war with the Royal Navy and with our armoured flight decks did better aginst the Kamikaze bombers than the Americans with their wooden flight decks. The Royal Navy is just as responsible for the victory against Japan than the Americans if not more so.

  • My grandad was captured at Singapore which was one of Britains worst military defeats ever, and was the largest surrender of British forces in history. You could look at what happened to Force Z as a naval example of the blunderous level of thinking in the pacific theatre.

We didn't get pushed back to Burma because we were an effective fighting machine. Britain had higher priorities at the time, like Middle Eastern oil and neighbouring North Africa.

  • of course not dumbass, I'm just saying that the Royal Navy made just as much contribution to the Pacific war than the american navy. The US Navy had piss all to do with the dropping of the bomb, that was the army air force.

  • @atfatw Ha Ha a Silly Ham Shank

  • @Joannexxx

haha yourself IF you were pretty you might be worth something

  • @holydiver73 But if the Americans had not landed in Normandy Britain would go to hell ...

  • NO offense. it was fucked up how America retaliated, but I'm pretty sure the nuke did it.

  • @holydiver73 I respect your countries effort, but more so? I think our nuclear bombs sort of ended the war...(not that i approve of the idea of nuclear warfare)

    Anywho, beautiful song.

  • @holydiver73

    hardly!

  • @holydiver73 we Americans had 2 tricks up our sleeves, fat man and little man, and after the japs got a taste of U-235 , they decided they didnt want anymore, so i'd say that America single handedly (ok, it dd take an airplane to drop the bomb) beat the japs. and how bout WWI, we finished it too

  • @holydiver73 Agreed Britain has the best navy in the world and the thing is america didn't do anything in world war 2 compared to Britian did the most for the sake of them selves and the rest of the world.

  • @holydiver73 I think Hiroshima and Nagasake would have to disagree with you on this one!

  • LOL, guess what... The RUSSIANS are the ones that killed thousands of Armenians for the oil fields of Baku... LOL... I just found that out, that is hilarious... Not because they died, but because you just royally put your foot in your mouth again lol... Read up on it, Bolsheviks(Russians) are behind those, historically proven fact...

  • America let them go. Hooray for the stupid country.

  • listen eatleet because your clearly an idiot. the first slaves sent to america where british kids of the street and your one to talk about slaves were'nt the scandinavian the one to start it all taking anglo-saxon's and selling them to arabs and jews so anything we learnt about slaves came frome you dan. vikings enslaved anglo-saxons and thousands more from europe Horray for the racist danes
