Keys are subjective. I think there wasn't much connection with the characters. I would have liked to see a little more commitment. Also they need to sing more from their diaphragms instead their throats.

I think it sounds good with the lowering of the key. I'd rather hear the song sang well in a lower key then not as well in a higher key. What a lot of people don't realise is that it's hard to find people who are really good singers and actors in high school.

i understand it's a high school version but the girl playing Maureen was very monotone and boring.. no real emotion with the singing.. i had to turn it off before it even got to Joanne's part. That's just my opinion.

I think it's lame that they lowered the song's key. I understand that Maureen's part is really difficult, but if you can't hit the notes don't do RENT. This just feels really boring and washed out.
