I don't think you understand what he's saying- any of you, actually. Do you not believe that Satan still tempts those who are saved? He tempts everyone. Jesus came to die for ALL our sins, past, present, and future. He knows we are going to sin- we are human. What Charles Stanley is referring to here has nothing to do with the process of salvation.
I was just confused. He keeps talking about proving yourself through testing. Other times ive heard him say your saved through christ and not through the test your pass or fail.
You are saved when you accept Christ into your heart...But the testing is to help you grow and remain saved...Otherwise you will backslide...The testing is like a life preserver to keep you saved...You will still hit many waves...And God wants you to learn how to deal with it and conquer it and continuously move on in the Christian life otherwise you will become adrift..Being saved is a lifetime task and those who pass God's tests will remain saved.
That's right...But you have to do your part in remaining saved...This is not a one sided relationship...He will battle the lion for you...But you better better take care of that fly.
@HappyJake100 Just because you say the words, does not mean you are truly saved. True salvation is preceded and followed by extreme and immediate change and repentance in the sinner. Jesus says "Not everyone who says Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom. But those who do the will of my Father in heaven." A true saved individual will show it in the their actions, he is saying to constanlty reprove your salvation through your spiritual fruits and actions. But once you are saved, its always
why does it say in james that god could not be tempted ? I believe that satan did tempt jesus but someone else claimed this particular scripture in james.
That is true God cannot be tempted...But Jesus can and was...Jesus was born into a fallen world...God was not...Jesus went through every temptation and feeling a regular human goes through...But yet He never sinned.
I agree with both of you. God does instruct us to have the Armor of God on (Ephesians 6:10 and following), and to resist the devil since he's prouncing about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). Let's not forget that Jesus is God, the 2nd person of the trinity, God the Son.
this message has really opened my eyes, cause sin is such a straggle in my life.Dr charles you are such a great preacher of the lord.
