Small fire power glitch. Look it up lol. Basically you get hit with bowser touching the axe supposedly making you small Mario but instead keeping you as big Mario. You are considered small M with big M's animation. Grabbing a mushroom makes you big M with small's animation. Now grab a fire flower giving you super small fire power

@ZaoMonichi The reverse small and large I saw done when I was about 10 years old on an actual NES so its certainly real (I never managed to time it properly myself). I didn't see anyone do the wall jumps with a real NES but I wouldn't be surprised if it were possible, the game is rather glitchy. :)

Going through piranhas is just a consequence of the terrible hit detection (go ahead, try it (on the original), it's not even that hard).

Bowser turning into other enemies isn't even a glitch. The ones in the first seven worlds are fakes; killing them (with four fireballs) reveals the disguise. (The real one takes eight to kill.)
