snake being the tradition stealth game

meryl being a similar kind of game play but you have to work with those other 3 guys that she's always with in the trailers

and raiden being the high combat ninja type game play

According to Kojima, Raiden was involved in a "tragic accident" sometime after MGS2. All he has of his own body is his head and spine, and everything is else is artificial.

well, people seem to bash him just because he isnt snake....i like snake, and i like raiden, but to say that he's "emo" is stupid....i mean, come on! snake is emo if anyone.... "Im no hero....never was" anyway, just because raiden was the main in mgs2, people didnt give him a chance...but both characters are cool, and raiden is just as badass as snake in my opinion.

you serious? why did you only start with mgs3? You should check out the other games...definitely MGS1. Raiden was the main playable character in MGS2 sons of liberty so if you play through that game you will either like him or hate him.
