  • FABULOUS!!! I never heard of Trestle Foote Faerie or Celia until today and I'm in love!!! She reminded me of an old Gilda Radner skit. What a blessing!!!

I remember a few pupils had been particularly impressed by the way and came back to school repeating several of the sarcastic remarks they had heard about God. I calmly pointed out that they were deriding the god of Sartre, that is to say, a god I personally could not hold to, a god which had nothing in common with what I believed. I urged them to reflect on whether the god represented in the theatre was perhaps "their" god or a way in which they found it possible to think of him."

  • I think Luigi Giussani would have an interesting response to this:

I have an anecdote to relate on this point from my high school teaching days. During one particular theatrical season, the Piccolo Teatro in Milan staged "The Devil and the Good God" by Jean-Paul Sartre.

  • I was there when this was recorded...LOVE YOU CELIA!!!

  • First saw Celia do this live and, raised a Christian, it made me uncomfortable because there is so much truth in the words. Thank you Celia. I saw the light.
