Well, the final version of the game is great. I only think that the old model for Sam should've stayed the same. I think that the old version of Sam had a much better look for the game
@MrRedberet The final version wasn't "Splinter Cell." It was a crappy, flashy FPS with a storyline that was fucked up in so many ways. Everything went wrong starting with Double Agent. Ubisoft should have continued with the Chaos Theory formula, instead of embarking on the cliche dramatic-betrayal storylines that seem prevalent in video games, attempting to be labelled as sophisticated.
@StarAdder92 good points Conviction was good but Double Agent screwed the series up Chao Theory was perfect. but its not an FPS there is no First Person Shooting in the game. you "Steathily" (quotes because you never need to) shoot people in 3rd person. the game was better than Double Agent but all i hope is that they take the smoother sam of Conviction and return it to the perfect stealth of Chaos Theory
@TheICWLeague I tend to judge plot-centered games like Splinter Cell on the "make-sense" of their plots. Conviction got an F for insulting my intelligence by trying to pass its plot off as a "storyline with depth." The gameplay difference between FPS and TPS is narrowing pretty fast (ex. Killzone), so to clarify I use FPS as a synonym for action video games.

There's certain things I like about this version though. Being able to use any object as a death machine, helicopters flying over the area, more free world....
if they would have combined the old idea with the current Splinter Cell Conviction, that would have been fun as hell.
They still kept the stealth, only its stealth kills now. I dont like the appeal of either versions, but after playing he final version, its not actually that bad

to be honest i think when they made double agent the series went to hell in a way. it just wasnt like sam i think to completely get mixed up in a fight between some (bad) organization and third echelon. i guess they wanted a change but instead of bringing a whole new set of poeple in they couldve maybe set a drama sequence within third echelon. i find it sad in the series he dosent work for them anymore. i havent played conviction, just the demo, but i like the old feel for the series better.

they actually use the same washington DC cafe in the new conviction, i noticed it the first time i played the mission. its the one where you go to the lincon memorial and at the end you are in the cafe.
Lol, this was the prototype of conviction. One of the first ideas of conviction but not yet polished so they remade conviction but kept the old gameplay just for great example for future games or ideas.
But i've clocked conviction twice. All I can say is GG (Good Game) probably one of the best games i've ever played and its hard to satisfy my gaming needs because i've got a harsh taste for gaming now a days because i've played nearly everything. I recommend this game to everyone.

Me along with dozens of other fans complained, so they changed it. Thank god for that. Its still different from a classic Splinter Cell game, but it does contain some light and dark stealth (and annoying rambo gameplay).

The 1st installment of Splinter Cell was the best. That game in particular was cleverly thoughout. Every installment since that time has declined in terms of realism, quality, and overall appeal. This game defintely won't even come close to game of the year awards. The trailer is second rate as is the quality.
@worldclassleader I don't think Splinter Cell games have declined, i seriously think they have improved, except for Double Agent on PC wich is loaded with bugs and glitches.
The series that have declined in every therm are Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six, they started as simulators and now thay are just pure arcade shooting. with minimal tactical elements.
This is one of the first trailers, it's too early to judge this game with it.

I Game on the WII, PC, PS3, and will sell the 360. PS3's graphics are a significant improvement over the 360. I played Halo ODST and was unimpressed by the quality of the graphics on my 1920x1080 LCD. Everything looks better on my PC (5870's) and PS3. I've been playing on PC when i was 3-4 years (but it wasn't real playing games, unless the dyeing in 2 sec is playing a games :D) and now i have 16. And seriously, I playing on console and on PC, one thing which makes one computer better from other is just users fillings.
yeah man but you know if i had an xbox i would need a modem for xbox live and pay 50 every year and i cant afford every game original so i wuld have to mod my console and maybe get banned by windows so i prefer pc if i were in other country with more money i would have only consoles they never get fucked by game developers

i've just finished splinter cell conviction and it's one of the many reasons why you SHOULD get an xbox 360 and dump the PS3 :)

@siikskillz323 It is! This is how they wanted to make Splinter Cell Conviction at first.
Me along with dozens of other fans complained, so they changed it. Thank god for that. Its still different from a classic Splinter Cell game, but it does contain some light and dark stealth (and annoying rambo gameplay).

Lol. This trailer is 3 years old. Look at the newer gameplay.
It's still all about stealth, but the fact that Sam doesn't work for the governmt anymore allows him to get caught and still be able to act.

The 1st installment of Splinter Cell was the best. That game in particular was cleverly thoughout. Every installment since that time has declined in terms of realism, quality, and overall appeal. This game defintely won't even come close to game of the year awards. The trailer is second rate as is the quality.

@worldclassleader I don't think Splinter Cell games have declined, i seriously think they have improved, except for Double Agent on PC wich is loaded with bugs and glitches.
The series that have declined in every therm are Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six, they started as simulators and now thay are just pure arcade shooting. with minimal tactical elements.
This is one of the first trailers, it's too early to judge this game with it.

Hi, I was unaware this was one of the earlier trailers, which is a dissapointment. However, I just checked out one of the latest trailers and was really impressed by the quality of the game. I'm really looking forward to playing the game as well!

The fact is, this is a trailer made by the creators of the game, therefore, it is the responsibility of that company to provide the latest trailers and negate older versions; not mine or the next fan's.
Furthermore, to call someone an idiot, just because you don't agree with their view on a specific topic is stupidity in the highest.

I purchased an XBOX 360; WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!
I Game on the WII, PC, PS3, and will sell the 360. PS3's graphics are a significant improvement over the 360. I played Halo ODST and was unimpressed by the quality of the graphics on my 1920x1080 LCD. Everything looks better on my PC (5870's) and PS3. Don't get my wrong here, the 360 has a lot of games, and was released prior to the PS3, but the 360 comes in 3rd. You can see the lack of quality/processing power in this video; this game stinks.
