Yes the sum of the two is 7, but they're still two separate moves. You have to check for every move wether you end on a field with at least two checkers of the opponent or not. If any of your moves end on two opposing checkers you can't move that checker whit two combined moves.
@MacintoshEnthusiast Not really, because double 4, 5 and 6 only makes you move 4, 5 and 6 points twice and not 8, 10 and 12 at once. Since you couldn't get to points 4, 5 and 6, you would still be locked.
@wywyman wow, i never thought about that. I think if that ever happened then the universe would probably collapse or something, but thats just my guess
@wywyman The faster one would crash. If you are talking about 2 perfect primes both in the home board, that actually isn't possible; just think about what it would be like 1 move before the 2 perfect primes.
@flashharry9 Even that still won't guarantee a win! That's the beauty of backgammon.

Can't you roll a five and a six and combine them to get out of a perfect prime?
pikmin4000 7 months ago
@pikmin4000 It depends because if you play the wrong way YES but if you play the right way then no.

Is it possible to move checkers in both directions, or must you carry on towards your home board?
Rukishou 1 year ago
@Rukishou
You're only allowed to play in the direction of your homeboard.

@wywyman That's pretty much impossible. If you think it is, then try to for a position that occured before universe collapsed.
