Very interesting recorder, but too bad the mic is hardwired. And that the rewind reel table has its pins gone. Yet very nice to have earthtones!

That is a very strange design for a tape recorder. Please don't turn up the volume when you play a tape, it makes your camera distort the sound. Play the tape softly. It may seem too soft to you, but the camera won't distort it so much. You camera mic is WAY too sensitive. Perhaps you can manually turn it down?

a rubber reel cap will help it rewind. If you don't have any, get a 1" rubber stopper at the hardware store and drill a hole in it, or get a 1" rubber beaker cork used in chemestry, perhaps from the school lab.
