I had rescue chicks and freed them too early ("Baby Pigeons Free Too Early" on my channel), and after seeing this video, I realized that they would die if I didn't go and recapture them (which was predictably easy.) They were at Days 24 and 25 (3:19).

How come my pigeon doesn't look like that? Its crest/crown is raised up high, & its either white, whitish gray, or gray, and its feathers grow so long it looks like its claws are in boots?

It's really helpful for pigeon age detecting! I has 3 pigeon hens. Now I know that I found my 1st and 2st pigeons when they was nearly a month old, and 3rd came to me when she was 21-22 days old.
