@tasteegold777 Well, Laestorme just uses different instruments, so it may sound more piratelike. As far as i know is Swashbuckl just heavier, without many of that old instruments. But i can understand that Alesstorm sound more familiar to "the real piratefans".

@chopshark2 Yes, these two bands are uncomparable because they're not even singing the same type of metal. As a pirate themed band, Alestorm would win any day. I never really like Swashbuckle in general, but I do love some of their songs. As what concerns Alestorm, I love absolutely every song from them. The pirate theme in metal just works better the way Alestorm does it.

I dislike the Pirate Metal Moniker, because Pirate Metal is used to describe a theme. This is pure balls-out thrash in the same way that Alestorm is Power Metal. Great stuff with an amazing underlying theme, but with not much of a difference between say, this and some of the other new Thrash and D-Beat out there to warrant a new Genre of music.
