  • I used to work at The American Room. I remember it was always packed when they would play.

  • I saw Stranger at the Bayfront Center in St Petersburg, FL in the early 1980's. They opened for Molly Hatchet. There were probably more people there to see Stranger because they were local favorites. They put on a hell of a show and blew Molly Hatchet off the stage. They will always be one of my favorite bands. Thanks for the music and the memories. You guys Rock !!

  • I bartended at "KATMANDU" in Augusta, Georgia form 83'-89'! Damn what a great time we had! Stranger was deffinetly the best band that came through there (and we had 2 different bands a week play there). Stranger played there so many times...a crowd favorite! Hell, we used to have to lock the doors before 10 pm, because no one else would fit in the club lol (it held over 1000 ppl)! I have some fond memories of Ronnie and the guy's....good people, that's for sure!

I REMEMBER SURPRISING THEM ALL WITH STUFFED LOBSTERS AND SHRIMP COCKTAIL BEFORE THEY PREFORMED AT THE PLANET ROCK CLUB ONE TIME. WHAT A GREAT BUNCH OF GUYS.

  • Used to see them at Fern Park Station, in North Orlando area 89 90, fuckin Greg is a great front man, Ronnie always tore it up on guitar, great band, they were right on the cusp of it all.

  • Got ya beat. I remember them from the Astro Lounge at the bowling alley in Sarasota when they where named Charlie Brown. I also used to bartend at the Stables in Bradenton(later became Animal House). They won a battle of the bands for a record deal and had to change the name to Stranger. Anyone remember Samurai from way back then.

  • @YortDrawla

Samurai and The Stables... great memories...good times!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I use to run with a band called tears in vain. Stranger would call us to open for them Greg would say "our opening band sucks can you come play with us". any one remember the Rocket Club or ML Chasers?

  • STRANGER ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!! I love these Guys. I use to see them any time they played within 50 miles of the American Room. Glad to see Greg Billings and Tom King still making it happen in the Greg Billings Band! Thanks for the great Music!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember when you were called Romeo back in the days of the Rustic lounge in Winter Haven, Fla. Would love to be able to go to those days.

  • I agree with you Budman, THEY DO RULE!! ALWAYS WILL!! no if, ands, buts about it....They used to play out in Davie rgt on the east side of the Alley at a place I worked called the Plus 5 lounge....We did security for them at battle of the bands type gig...it was at CB Smith park in Hollywood...Greg held my gf's 4year old daughter in his arms and sang 3d to her never putting her down through the entire song...nice memory!!!!! These guys have a place in my heart for sure....

  • seen these guys in florida in 93... looking for a place to buy this album....help

  • @markbeaudoin1 you can buy all their CD's at Retrospec Records on line....

  • Thanks for sharing this ! I used to go see these guys at the "Rockin' Crown Lounge" in B'town (early 80's) and party w/ them after the shows..... It's a pawn shop now....? Right....? Ahhhhh Yes, and the old Peek-a-Boo.... Had a few lap dances there too !

  • @brctom1 YES! I also lived in Bradenton/Sarasota for about 6 years and saw them MANY times at the Crown/Town Lounge. The Animal House down in Sarasota... Venice, Port Charlotte, pretty much anywhere these guys were playing was a definite road trip. I worked for Budweiser in Sarasota, and did a lot of promo stuff with/for Stranger. I got to see their contract once, and they were getting $2300.00 a night to play a club back then, PLUS catered food and drinks backstage, including that Wild Turkey!

  • @BackThatMuleUp ,,oh hell yeah...i grew up in bradenton also,,,the crown lounge was the place to go back then...what a great town back then,,and the great bands that came through there,,,great memories.....thanks for this video....

  • @brctom1 I lived there, too! Saw these guys EVERYWHERE! Don't remember all the places but one of the favorites was visiting my best friend Suzanne in G'ville at (I think) Horizons. AH- alcohol-soaked memories! Dang I miss my childhood

  • Still my favorite music. This is the cd we play on the way back from Panama City Beach every time.

  • BackThatMuleUp You are right about Russ 's voice on ALbum & CD. I was saying in several Live appearances I saw John Price singing or speaking into a special Microphone to get that special deep gruff sound only on Swamp Women.... By the Way STRANGER RULES AND ALWAYS WILL IN MY MIND and HEART!!!!! Budman

  • This is not Janus Landing this is Texan Hotel Pool Deck During Spring Break I know cause I had several pictures taken of me as Budman on Beach Wall my Cape flapping like it was BatMan's!!!! Ronnie G all those Hot Guitar Licks and Riffs we all miss him Greatly !!! His Legacy is still talked about and Remembered.....Did you know that John Price is the Deep Gruff Base Voice singing with Greg Billings???????

  • @BillBudman1 Thanks for the comment! Good call. This is most definitely at the Texan. I spent many a crazy night there! On the CD the deep "DJ" voice is credited to Russ Albums from 95YNF in Tampa. He also did it (and introduced the band) on the "We Be Live" CD, and did the DJ thing on another song called "Thunder Bay". From one Stranger freak to another. Salute!

  • @BillBudman1 ronnie was awesome we miss him, and i believe you are right about the location, i am pretty sure i was there, drove over from ocala, saw them so many times, they rocked

  • This video was shot at Jannus Landing in St.Pete Florida.

  • This brings back so many good time memories! does anyone know where i can get the CD?

  • Best band to see live hands down. I remember them playing in a small bar on Oakland Park Blvd in Ft. Lauderdale, I was in the front row rocking out. They just got done playing "On a Clear Blue Morning" I was singing every word. One of my favorite ballads to this day. Gregg leaned over and gave me a swig from that Wild Turkey bottle they always seemed to have. Man I thought that was so cool. I still have one of Ronnies picks from the Button South also. Damn I wish they were still around.

  • This is at the pool deck at The Texan Hotel, Daytona Beach. 19910-91?

  • Wow this is great stuff...used to party with these guys back in the day with my boyfriend's band ARSON. Thanks for posting this video! What good times they were...

  • @rockridgehardcore your boyfriends band name was ARSON - haha what a stupid name haha. ;)

  • @stevieVantanna c'mon lightweight , don't beat yourself up 'cause you got your ass whipped by them at Brassy's in Battle of the Bands......

  • This is the famous Budweiser beer. We know of no other brand produced by any other brewer which costs so much to brew and age. Our exclusive Beechwood Aging produces a taste, a smoothness and a drikability you will find in no other beer at any price.

  • Thanks for the video, and thanks for the comments. Fun to read. I'm an old old fart, & remember clubbing or concerts seeing the StrangerBand as far back as 82. I am very proud to say that my 11 yr old got her 1st live rock show from Stranger in a neighbor's backyard in 2000 when she was just old enough to walk, but she danced.

  • I got to meet Ronnie's parents at the Crown Lounge in Bradenton. His dad was beaming like a lighthouse watching his son play.

Now that my son is rockin it, I know how he felt.

  • They were good people I hated it when Ronnie died it brings a tear to my eye still today.

  • These guys tore it up back in the day in G'ville- GOD those were bad ass times! It's so hard to believe its been 20+ years ago! There's a song called "Song and Emotion put out by Tesla ( they wrote it for Steve Clark when he passed away), it totally reminds me of Ronnie- a true class act.
