  • @Flamennova Actually I once watched a documentary demonstrating music in Southern India and was shocked by the similarity with Qinqiang from my province. On the other hand, the famous Buddist monk Xuan Zang wrote in his memoir that some Indian raj said he heard about a popular music set in China when they met. So maybe some one can really study the culture interchange in ancient Asia.

  • @CelestialKindred Very interesting. And I am glad to see the reference to the venerable Xuan Zang, whose awesome travels have been a subject of admiration for generations of Indians. And apart from the study suggested by you, there is need for greater cultural exchange even in modern Asia too! I have to admit that we have no knowledge or appreciation of the great musical and cultural traditions of other countries in the orient. It is a real pity, because the loss is entirely ours!
