this airplane is not a m20f. the F's most noticeable features are a more forward landing gear, and a longer rear window. The F does not have three windows and i looked it up on the faa N-number registry and it is actually a m20c.
Its hard to tell what was going on in the cockpit. He could have overstated something that wasn't a big deal and felt embarassed about it. Perhaps he just thought he was going to lose the engine because he mis-read the fuel pressure indicator; who knows without being there.
ATC instructor and ATC trainee working local control at FXE airport. You hear the instructor cut in after the Mooney announces he is losing the engine. Sounds like a "senior" pilot in the Mooney.

No, in 1976 all F models came off the factory with 2 side windows and the same instrument panel as the J.
