  • Excellent. Never heard this song before (why?) but was in Cable Street last year for the 75th celebrations. Very inspiring - and the battle continues.

    No Pasarans.

  • No Pasaran

  • Cheers for that.

I sneaked the link into an EDL thread on English folk music.

  • Yeah, much better today when the facist pig police protect muslems burning poppies on rememberance day isn't it

  • @Fijon158 Pity it wasn't EDL members they were burning.

  • @deareg

Burning people alive because you disagree with their views?

Perhaps you need to learn a little tolerance, the world would be a far better place without people like you advocating oppression.

  • @Fijon158 Grow up and stop reading the Sun.

  • No Pasarán!

  • police ! Still the same, the world over.

They were obviously ready to meet the nazi,s if they had invaded.

  • its a pity the same protesters were'nt around the time of the miners strike when thatchers blackshirts were beating up the striking miners

  • @TashkentFox "Mosley was a man of peace" you say? He lead a British movement based on institutionalized violence. A movement whose counterparts on the continent were already playing their murderous hand. Had Mosley and his ilk had their way, the U.K. would have become part of the Nazi Axis. If that is a thought that pleases you, then there is nothing more to discuss.

  • If people are proud of multi-cultural Britain you are either black or rich and not living in a city.

London is a cesspit. In the places where whites used to live you just see immigrants.

  • 75th aniversary of The Battle of Cable Street. The Day Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists was smashed. 7,000 Blackshirts against 300,000 anti-fash.

    No Pasarán!

  • @johnny45irish Love to you johnny45irish!

  • @johnny45irish Lol, you could had Mosley and fascism instead of pakis, indians and sari'a

  • @Edgbarrow - you are a tosser. History has shown that they were racists wankers. For Gods sake read something, you are embarrassing. 75 years on, how on earth can you think that?

  • @MrStbons Since I agree entirely with your comment about history's judgement on the BUF nazis I assume that you have clicked the wrong name to reply to

  • police brutality is obvious. Nothing changes.

  • And so we learn from history generations have to fight

And those who crave for mastery

Must be faced down on sight

And if that means by words, by fists, by stones or by the gun

  • They may build their barricades,

    And use their razor blade.

But they won't beat the boys of the BUF,

    Who made old England shine.

    - Song of Union by E.D. Randall, circa. 1937

  • @TashkentFox The boys of the BUF were beat. Good riddence to the Nazi pigs. This is what should happen to the EDL/BNP/SDL/Orange order and anyone else who feels that discrimination is acceptable.

  • @campbo Interesting how you lefties claim to support freedom of speech, but then seek to deny freedom of speech by any means, including violence, to people who, shock horror, disagree with you. The BUF were not defeated, not by the unwashed Trotscum hordes at least, and their legacy lives on. The legacy of Mosley and British Union lives on, and one day we will win.

  • @TashkentFox Haha bullshit the people hate you and that is not because of "cultural Marxism" or any other buzz term you have up your sleeve, it's because people posses common sense, in other words people hate fascists because fascists are hate deserving.

  • @Frasssaanarchy Most people are completely apolitical unless their personal situation forces them to become political, otherwise they blindly follow the zeitgeist. The only thing that "defeated" British Union was Winston Churchill, a bloodthirsty, aristocratic, working class-hating, racist and sexist bigot. It should be noted that many left-wingers were also imprisoned along with Mosley and other senior Blackshirts for speaking against the war.

  • @TashkentFox Im not even a "lefty". But i do hate ignorant bigots. The BUF were defeated at cable street which marks the point of the downturn in their popularity before they were disbanded in 1940. Freedom of speech in my opinion is good, hate speech however isnt.

  • @campbo You may not share certain views with those generally called "left wing", but you are definitely a liberal in outlook. What "defeat" was there? There wasn't even a physical confrontation between the Blackshirts and the trouble makers. "hate speech" is a very useful label to apply to anyone whose views you disagree with, democracy on your terms. Mosley knew that liberal democracy was a dead end, he was right then and he is right today.

  • @TashkentFox Confrontation between the blackshits and the troublemakers? Mosley and his fascist bootboys WERE the troublemakers. Mosley was not right, he's extreme right. Watching Londoners stand up to fascism like this makes me proud to be British.

  • @Edgbarrow Please tell me that's a joke. The BUF later staged another march through the same area without incident, Mosley was a man of peace, not of the mindless violence preached by those yobs who attacked the police. How exactly does it "make you proud to be British"? They ideological descendants of those hooligans are busy destroying everything that it means to be British.

  • @TashkentFox Paramilitary uniforms and Nazi salutes on the streets of London? At least the fascists then didn't have the benefit of hindsight. Knowing now what happened in Germany when people didn't oppose fascism, what's your excuse? The British public has a proud history of tolerance, and standing up to bullies and extremists. That's why the recent EDL rally was such a failure, and the BNP were hammered in the 2010 elections. Long may it continue.

  • @Edgbarrow What a load of liberal rot. The BUF were certainly not "bullies", they were the victims of politically-motivated violence, not the instigators.

  • @TashkentFox "A young woman carried past me by five Blackshirts, her clothes half torn off and her mouth and nose closed by the large hand of one; her head was forced back by the pressure and she must have been in considerable pain.... Why train decent young men to indulge in such peculiarly nasty brutality?" 1934 mainstream news report of attacks on hecklers during a rally at Olympia. Violence so bad tt even made the Daily Mail stop supporting Mosley.

  • Could this be around the corner?????

  • Two weeks after Cable Street 12,000 East Enders assembled in Victoria Park Square, East London to hear Mosley speak. A British Union of Fascists march then took place to Salmon Lane in Limehouse. Read 'Cable Street: The Facts' published by Steven Books.

    MOSLEY DID PASS!

  • with all the pakis now you cringe they even took a stand

  • veryones got a black shirt, i've still got mine .

  • Not to mention the clowns in the EDL.

  • If you want to beat police horses go to a demo with loads of steel ball bearings. Horses freak when they cannot keep their feet.

  • @littlebigbrain

explain that to the working class family of the policeman whom you murder via that tactic, you appalling posturing middle class wanker.

  • @skeptickful I murdered nobody nor am I middle class. I have seen more police get away with murder than police been murdered. Maybe somebody should think about the families of the victims of police violence but I bet you never give a thought for those people.

  • @littlebigbrain they through marbles at cable street, they're cheaper & easier to get

  • @me6664 Steel balls do not get crushed but it shows it an old tactic.

  • We need this kind of action in this country NOW.... beat those black shirts and Conservatives Down...

  • Fantastic Video and song. Thank you for the upload.

  • Excellent song, excellent band.

  • A good sound-track for tomorrow.

  • In 2006 The Guardian had an article about the Battle of Cable Street, which is pretty good. guardian.co.uk/uk/2006/sep/30/thefarright.past

  • I DO NOT SEE HOW ANYONE CAN DISLIKE THIS SONG!!!!

  • Love this song.

  • Thanks for uploading.

  • @Traitorfish, we Nationalists are also against the Crown, and the current state system. We are for the indigenous people of all lands. The Irish had their Nationalists back in the day too, and I don't mean the IRA jerk-offs who really don't care about the people. We know we were divided in order to be ruled by Zionists, and others. We have learned, we don't want to fight among ourselves, or with anybody actually. We lost enough of our peoples in the two 'brother wars'. We want our freedom!

  • I am being consistent, the Irish are part of the British isles, north european, christian heritage. The few other immigrants existing could easily be absorbed. Even if we made the cut off 1980 it would be containable. Since 1997 it[ immigration] has got completely out of control. The uk is now a territory where people come and go as they please, not a self governing nation state.

  • @bluedick321 "North European Christian" didn't mean very in regards to the Irish much during the Famine, the War of Independence or The Troubles. Why should it mean something now?

You ever heard the song "White Noise" by Stiff Little Fingers? Relevant, I think.

  • Even when the good people of the East End protested against the evil of fascism in 1936, the representatives of the government of the day, i.e the police, still tried to kick the shit out of them. Since then, up to the student protests of today, the government still employs such strong arm and often lethal tactics againsts its people.

  • And long may it continue ... :)

  • @LlygaidAgor No, the thug lefties attacked the lawful march, a sad day for the indigenous British. Don't swallow the commie parrots.

  • @LlygaidAgor To compare the principled men and women of the left to the posturing affected middle-class poseurs of 2003-2011 is ridiculous.

  • Shit, i was listening to TMTCH, think i`ve gone back in time somewhere along the line reading all this bollocks!

  • @closertofifty, The people in "dark towers" are the zionists who run Britain and have done since around the time of Napoleon, if not earlier. They are the ones who instigated open immigration of unskilled peoples of completely different cultures and beliefs. Now they are worried because the Islamofascists didn't interbreed and assimilate thereby destroying British culture, but instead stayed true and rally against zionist hate. Two brothers ran for leadership of Labor, both Jewish. Says it all!

  • @closertofifty, saved what? Look around, crumbling infrastructure everywhere from the Victorian ages, tons of cities where you can't walk safely if you are English, skyrocketing rape and murder stats overwhelmingly directed at natives by non-natives..! Britain is going down the toilet fast and most seem to not care as long as they have a lager and a footie match to watch!

    Wake Up Spirit of England!

  • @bookteafun

Ahh! nice to meet an agent provocateur. If you think that people in dark towers will stop brit earthed people coming out and displaying their sense, then your old history teacher in school has failed you.

Remember the Battle of Chester of 615(circa!), friends.

  • @bookteafun Note, my noble anti-fascist friends, the casual conflation of "English" and "British" in this fascist's comment. In this apparently thoughtless usage of terminology we see the true nature of the ideology professed by his sort: not a defence of "democracy" or "British values", but neo-Nazi Anglosupremacism, racial to the core.

  • @Traitorfish your name makes it clear what you are, a traitor. I mention England, and Britain, because the video is about an event in both - England is in Britain. Is that so hard to understand? Since when have "British values" been about being a traitor (which is the opposite of being noble)? Nationalism is the best form of government for ALL peoples. It's true freedom and love, as it's FOR the people and by the people. It's TRUE diversity. You push DIEversity and Jewish supremacy.

  • @bookteafun I am a traitor to your crown, your state and your system, that much is true. ;)

  • where was the spirit of cable st when thatchers black shirts were marching into mining communities during the strike of 85?

  • Slimy lefties are selling England by the pound.

Mohamed is the most common baby's name now, thanks slimy lefties!

Slow genocide against the British natives is what you've supported!

Nationalists will save England though, you will see!

  • @bookteafun

You seem to miss the point of this video and song - the common man rose up and saved this country from tory Hitler fascistic supporters in the 1930s.

You only got to look at the amount of tory voters that were shipped out of this country to Canada, South Africa etc. at the end of the 1930s, because they were all a serious security risk in WWII, alledgedly. Records of it are still withheld by the state, alledgedly.

  • Worth remembering that we're only ever a few steps away from fascism. Hitler, Mosley et al exist within living memory and the pain and chaos they created is still felt. We all need to be vigilant.

  • No pasaran!

  • God bless MOSLEY!

  • stfu and listen to the song

  • No pasaran...

Cable Street 1936 to Bradford 2010 - wherever you raise your filthy heads we will be there!

  • Proletari di tutto il mondo, unitevi!

  • 'there world wide still' just dressed in different clothes & colors .

  • I wonder what these fascists and cops did in the years afterwards - bstards.

  • i don't trust cameroon....................

  • What was Cable Street About and what was its purpose?

  • @starshiptrooper425

Cable Street is a street in London in which a mob of various factions ( Jews, anarchists, communist) marched towards the BUF (British Union of Fascists) in 1936.

Personally I would like to of seen what would happen under a Fascist government.

  • @JSanders1234 Totalitarian governments inevitably lead to mass deaths and repression; Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Franco, Burma (sorry, Myanmar), Chile, Gaddaffi, Paul Pot, every tinpot Junta you can name... but at least the trains run on time, eh?!

So if you want a fascist government, find another planet to f*ck up, not one I'm living on, thanks.

  • @JSanders1234 If you want to save time and skip to the end, we can just put you up against a wall and shoot you right now.

  • @Traitorfish

    & Oldskald for that matter....

Its is a sad day when a person is bashed for his beliefs, and why I ask do you believe that I should be shot for my beliefs? A bit extreme in that fact is it not? hmm, funny that, if you see my veiws as extreme.....

  • @JSanders1234 I don't believe that you SHOULD be shot. Just that, given that the inevitable conclusion of any British fascist regime would be an anti-fascist revolution, with the inevitable purges that follow. So, y'know, go for it if you want, but take your medicine when the time comes.

  • so apt for us now

  • Never forget them

  • Brilliant :)

  • Mosley was good enough to abandon the march to avoid bloodshed.

  • I'd take Sir Oswald rather than the cesspit we have allowed our country to become, self loathing is killing us

  • @surreyger And you'd spit on the grave of everyone who ever gave their lives for this country. Fuck you, sir. Fuck. You.

  • @Traitorfish

Well said that man. If surryger wants to take Oswald then let him. But he'd better remember that quite a few of us despise fascism and might just take a stand against it.

  • SMASH FASCISM!

  • brill, what do you say, these people paved the way for anti facisim,i am an Irish man and proud to be,I support Sinn Fein but these people stood up to the blackshirts and for that I salute them

  • Great and and sentiment. Look at Bolton this weekend just passed...history trying to repeat itself yet again. I will proudly tell you that both my grandfathers were at the battle of Cable Street in '36...and my great uncle was one of those who spoke out against Mosely's blackshirted fascist militia on that day. It inspired another great uncle of mine to go to Spain the following year and fight Franco's fascists as a red volunteer in the Spanish Civil War, 1936-39.

  • @c0bbl3rs max mosely the apple falls close to the tree

  • I might have upset someone when I posted that fascism isn't a realistic threat to our civilisation. It aint gonna happen. The 'antifas' seem to be clutching straws and inventing sinister, awesome threats where none exist.

    Careerism, perhaps.

It reminds me of "reds under the bed" mcarthyism / paranoia

And those goose-stepping wankers can fuck right off, too.

  • All it takes for evil to prosper is for good men to do nothing. On this day good men stood up and pushed back aginast the facists.God Bless you Edward Refus Buller Cox.

  • Apply the parabola to the demographic charts and work out by what %age Islam will have expanded in the UK in 50 years time.

This aggressively - expanding religion is a lot like fascism in that dissenters are not tolerated. Try googling "church bombing" and you'll see quite a bit from Muslem countries. I hope we'll have brave fighters to go against Islamofascism then, like pastrychef

  • @geezer, judging from the video it looks like the anti-fascists are the ones practising intolerance.

  • that comment was to FrieMarien, btw

  • Fascism is our greatest threat. We know this, we know we must organise, but it doesn't take me to say it, but I said it again. It's mantra to us, but not organisation. The next Cable Street is years away and I for one'll be there, i'll throw owt around, i'll lose every drop of sweat, i'll maybe even lose every drop of blood - they will not pass, those bastards will never pass as i'm alive.

  • @pastrychef1985, you are living under a form of fascist multi-culturalism you stupid putz.

  • Yes, because I must be under Sharia law and be forced to read the Koran. Get real, mate.

  • @pastrychef1985, no, that's not the reason, it is because you are a rank and file lemming, incapable of free thought.

  • Fascism is still a greater threat than Islamic Fundamentalism. Islamic Fundamentalism will never emerge victorious but fascism just might. The BNP, the successor of the NF, who were in turn the successors of the BUF, are gaining support. Fascism must be combated. The Battle of Cable Street is an example to us all.

  • @englishfrenchgerman, what is your definition of "fascism", do you even know what the hell you are talking about?

  • To my mind, fascism is an ideology whereby war is shown to be glorious, one nation is superior to ALL other nations and racism and hatred are commonplace. Fascism is geared towards complete control over every aspect of people's lives and complete obedience to the state. It can also have ties to racism and especially anti-semitism but that's more Nazism. Mussolini was neither a racist nor an anti-semite. But fascism is still responsible for mass slaughter and world war.

  • Fair enough, fascism is shit.

My point is that the people most likely to impose fascism upon us is

1,our own Government. The Thatcher years. Police beating demonstrators at the G20, killing the newspaper seller with no prosecution announced so far.

    2, radical Islam

    3. Banks & Corporations running the show...

The BNP have no chance of becoming a threat. The number of mixed - race families is what, a hundred times(?) higher than the number of BNP people. It WILL never happen here.

  • I meant to do the caps, it will NEVER happen here, but same diff

  • @geezer, Yes, the BNP will never win because of the great mass of self-loathing, brain-washed sheeple like yourself.

  • @funkygeezer, All of the characteristics that you just attributed to fascism are in fact communistic trademarks. Except in communism there would have been no demonstrators to beat-up because people were too terrified to protest publicly. Radical Islam is just a tool used by the social engineers of Britain to keep the populous apprehensive and in a state of sub-conscious seige. Banks and corporations and the major benificiaries of communism, for they are the state.

  • @khazarmongolturk, The three key words in your Hollywood tailored, Steven Spielberg inspired definition of fascism were "To my mind".....

  • google what they did to Emily Apple and Ian Tomlinson.

Fascism and state brutality is here. It just crept in. A bunch of Sharia-fixated/phobic footie fans barely able to manage a full song between them may deflect you from the real threats.

Unless it's just about picking easy targets, I think that people who call themselves antifascists would have more credibility demanding justice for Ian Tomlinson than shouting at the edl, but hey that's just my opinion and I love free exchange of ideas

  • Good on you peops fighting fascim. Funny how you cant tell police from fascists in the video.

Seriously tho, I think nowadays fascism barely makes it to 6th place as threats go. You got the climate, economic collapse, agressively expanding Islam likely leading to war / polarisation.

The biggest threat is happening unpublicised. Capitalism out of control. Poverty, obscene bonuses for bankers who strangle the economy. A police state supporting them as we saw at the G20 demos last April

  • judge people on their actions, not their cultural background.

if a large proportion of our muslim population were showing extremist tendencies, THEN would be the time to get militant.

at the moment we just have a bunch of ex-footie thugs who are not getting enough, attributing the actions of the few to the intentions of the whole group.

  • makes you wonder, doesn't it?

anyone falling for this "muslim invasion" shit is either vastly overrating Islam, or seriously underrating the average Brit. (ie. non-xenophobic, tolerant, unconfrontational.).

  • DUDE USE MP40 ON THOSE MOTHA FUCKAS

  • crikey av no heard this for a time...aye up ye ya fuckin nazi bastards fuck off

  • Well done the anti fascists! No fascism for Britain thank you.

Isn't it ironic that the new fascism - type threat to Europe is from radical Islam. Yet those who oppose it have abuse such as "fascist" thrown at them?

  • Fundamentalist Islam is barely a threat in Europe. Islamophobic fascism sure as hell is.

  • @Spartacus21C

at the present time, you're rightabout fundamentalist Islam, but if you look at demographic stats and calculate on a few generations time, it could be the next threat to our peaceful, liberal culture. Not that a bunch of football chants will preserve our culture, but....

  • What, about the growth of Islam? Islam != fundamentalist Islam. In fact a lot of Muslims disown fundamentalism as anti-Islamic.

The way to prevent the growth of Islam from heralding the growth of fundamentalist Islam is to stem the rising tide of Islamophobia (both social and institutional) in Europe/North America and fight to stop NATO's imperialist wars.

  • crushing blow on moseleys head

  • Oh, but they are coming back again, sleazily sneaking along, sometimes in respectable nice suits. We will NOT be fall for this. At least I hope not.

  • itr looks like blueshirts again this election, out of stuffed shirts, blackshirts, or the shirtless, hurrah for the lesser of the evils!

  • i think the BNP members need to listen to this :-)

  • lol they can't, mate - they don't have the brain to think

  • @Sasamabab I did mate, when I was still in Primary School! Loved TMTCH ever since.. even when I spent several years affiliated to the far right!!

Always saw it from all sides.

    Peace.

  • "Hell, if it weren't for the constant help they get from the police, fascists probably would not even dare to show up at demos and such these days."

that's all that saved them in manchester. if they expected to entice more of their kind out of the dark cracks, they were very mistaken.

  • nods, let's not forget that the police were on Mosley's side that day - and how many times since then???

  • @CJOKUSAP

"that's all that saved them in manchester"

    Yeah, course it was, poppet.

  • Comment removed

  • FACT: There's more anti-fascists than fascist in Britain

YOU dont need anymore support. Vote for anyone else (even mice), lets stop these rascist bigots from destroying our britain

  • @Balmer25 try spelling racist properly

(people might take you muppets seriously then)

  • @Balmer25 Yeah cos lefty governments keep filling up the place with anti british immigrants. Votes for pre 1948 families only, then see what government we get.

  • @bluedick321 But some pre-1948 families are *also* immigrants- Jews, early Asian immigrants, Eastern Europeans, etc. I myself, for example, am a "fucking mick", as I believe one of your associates so eloquently put it. Should not we also face the denial of franchise? Let's be consistent, after all.

  • @Balmer25 Shit always comes in higher quantities than diamonds, what is your point.

  • Comment removed

  • @Balmer25 The Fascist's 0f the future will be called the Anti-Fascist's

    Winstin Churchill..1930

  • @MrCrusader363 Winston Churchill did not actually say that, it is a myth

  • @Balmer25 While I agree to a point, it's just not as simple as that. It's new labour's/the tories' free market economic policies that bring ruin to the working class which then drives people into the arms of the reactionary fascist scum as they look for someone to blame for their bad lot, immigrants in this case. Voting in these rats eventually fuels the Nazis as Capitalism always attacks the working class. Coherent Anti-Fascism is fundamentally and anti capitalist ideology :) (A)nti Fa (A)ction!

  • fuck off chriswow, best stay at home and stick to internet activism ey mate, wouldn't wanna get the shit kicked out of you by anti-fascists on the street now would you

  • The BUF tried this shit in the 30s, The National Front tried it in the 80s and now the BNP wants to have a go. I say bring it on you facist shits.

  • Top this off with the fact that the mass, petty-bourgeois basis for fascism has been ground away due to the development of capitalism in the postwar period. Fascists today aren't nearly as powerful as they were back then, and at best, they can only serve as some kind of auxiliaries of reaction at best.

Hell, if it weren't for the constant help they get from the police, fascists probably would not even dare to show up at demos and such these days.

  • EDL don't seem to be anything to do with the BNP.

  • My impression is that the EDL is to the BNP as Golden Dawn is to LAOS (if you know anything about Greek politics) - no institutional link, but the leadership and to an extent the membership of the EDL overlaps heavily with the BNP, and the EDL takes its political direction from the same corporate media outlets which feed (and in some cases, fund) the BNP.

  • Blackshirts of business suits, we've smashed them before and we'll do it again.

  • Fascist cunts. Smash 'em

  • We did it to the Nazis in the 70's. We did it to the Nazis in the 80's. We didn't do it in the 90's and we have to do it again now. Any Nazi you see, you hit, hard. Then run away, if you need to. We have the streets, not them. They need to know, again, how vile they are, and they don't understand words.

  • Been listening to TMTCH for last 20 years and never seen as much shite as you lot are writing! Just listen to the music and enjoy like yer fuckin meant to.

  • right v left ,lets bring it on now!,its right for me anyday,so come on you liberal, lefty, bleeding hearts pc wankers, lets be avin yer!

  • which side am i rooting for here? the plainclothes ones?

  • I'd certainly hope so, the others are fascists.

  • Comment removed

  • Death to fascists!

  • we need another battle of cable street to demonstrate opposition to BNP policies. the BUF and BNP are cut from the same cloth.

  • @anongoat You might get your wish on the 20th.

  • i don't see how saying vote bnp in capitals can be expected to be taken as a joke

  • If anyone thinks that this song is pro facist, can I suggest they listen to the lyrics, and perhaps do a quick google on what Cable Street was all about?

  • Fuck of you fascist bastard, Its Scum like you who should be throw out of the country.
