  • I'm totally up for women breastfeeding in public, it's one of the sexiest things ever!

  • even my infants kicked the blanket off it just didn't work for us and know one was so stupid as to say something rude, I doubt they even noticed.

  • I need to be able to SEE to latch my baby on. I tried one of those nursing covers with the boning that's supposed to let you see the baby, and I still couldn't see to latch on my baby. She kept wriggling and waving her arms til the cover was off her face and screaming bloody murder. Good thing I tried it at home first, it would have attracted a lot more attention in public than if I just fed her. My baby is only two months old, BTW. Little babies don't like it either.

  • On the RARE occasion that I do cover my baby to nurse I feel like Michael Jackson.

  • Mothers in MOST other countries would laugh at our covering up while breastfeeding! We THINK we are more civilized cause we cover up but we are just ignorant and full of shame and perverse thinking..

  • I love it! i am sharing this if it's ok, so we can get the word out. I had no hesitation nursing anywhere my baby needed to. Even if my father DID look at me like I had 3 eyes...nobody else noticed...And I was talking to one of the single guys from church, he had NO idea I was feeding the baby

  • Love this video!!!!

  • I just use a blanket I got from the hospital to nurse my daughter in public.

  • @leab779705 I think you missed the point :P

  • I'm uncomfortable by a lot of things, but I don't in any way think that makes those things WRONG. More people need to realize that just because you don't like something, that doesn't mean the world owes you a thing. Just let it alone. I do. I don't feel the need to impose my hang-ups (again, I have MANY; for example public kissing weirds me out) on other people.

  • Love it!! Great video!!

  • Thank you a million times for making this! My youngest nursling has been going strong for 3 years! Awesome video. I'm sharing with all of my fb friends!

  • LOVE this! A clever way to make a really good point.

  • I support NIP, and plan to do it with my baby who is due in a few weeks. To me it is more "uncomfortable" to see a mother and baby covered up for such a natural thing. Especially if the child is older and protesting the blanket like in the video.

  • I have to lol at how adamant the baby in the video was about the blanket on his/her head. Seriously, we can see breasts almost completely in almost-porn in tv/magazine adverts and shows and movies, but not in the perfectly innocent situation of feeding a baby.

  • Kudos. I nursed my son until he was 2.5yrs old. Women have been breastfeeding long before the blanket was invented. If a breast is a sexual object does that make a bottle a dildo?

  • @BlissMonique HAHAHA I love the comparison!

  • CocolutoBeans...ha ha, I'll try to avoid salivating in public, too.

  • @CocolutoBeans Umm, did you mean "judicious"? Because I'm plenty judicial of your ignorance regarding breastfeeding. It it the biological norm for human babies to receive milk from their mothers' breasts. If breastfeeding offends you, put a blanket over your head. I'll feed my children when and where they are hungry TYVM, and I have the law on my side, so fume away.

  • You rock my dear.

  • This is from the CDC's website:

Are special precautions needed for handling breast milk?

CDC does not list human breast milk as a body fluid for which most healthcare personnel should use special handling precautions.

  • <3 it.

  • @RonFella Blowing out someone else's candle won't make yours shine brighter. I wish you well RonFella and truly hope that you find real peace and happiness in your life one day. Beautiful Woman. Sexy Mama. Outstanding, much needed, much appreciated video.

  • Hahaha--fantastic!! I have found, especially with my older babies, that the cover is often LESS discreet. Nothing like a big old blanket to advertise, "HEY!! I'm breastfeeding overe here!!!" Meanwhile, the baby covers my belly, and if I keep a hand on my shirt I can pull it down quick if he pulls away to look around. I'm, like, ninja-nurser.

  • @skerrib I totally agree with you... trying to wrap some blanket over you and your baby will surely attract more attention than simply lifting your t-shirt... especially if the baby doesn't appreciate being hidden under a blanket, which would surely have been the case with my children!

  • @CocolutoBeans Seriously? TRANSMIT disease? Now that is a new one that I have never heard. To think all this time I thought that breast milk was full of antibodies and would help to protect my babies from disease. THANK YOU for educating me on the dangers of feeding my baby what nature created for them.

  • @Treelimb65

You're ignorant to think that human breast milk cannot transmit diseases. There are advantages & there are also risks involved with public exposure to breast milk and open breastfeeding in public.

Human milk can transmit HIV, streptococcus, and other communicable diseases. Breast milk is treated as a bio-hazard for a reason, just like blood, urine, etc.

My argument still stands that breastfeeding should be a judicial practice performed in private for the better of public health.

  • @CocolutoBeans mmm you do realize that the milk goes into the baby's mouth, and is not usually sprayed all around so everyone can have a taste... right? How on earth would you come in contact with a mother's milk just because she's breastfeeding in public? that is such a weird idea.

  • @gerardluver777 Ah, well if it works like that, then I expect you to wear gloves at the table, because hands are definitely part of the reproductive cycle and sexual intimacy. God forbid that those hands appear where I might be eating my food. Plus you don't know where they've been! Also, you might want to inform the American Academy of Pediatrics that they have it all wrong about the whole "you should breastfeed your baby during the first year" thing.

  • Hahaha, our daughter does exactly that; she throws the blanket off of her and sits up every 10 seconds or so making my wife do a quick hand-cover of the breast. Very funny-but-true video here. Ty for making this video!

  • LOVE the message, ADORABLE baby, and I am so happy that you did this.

Fighting with the blanket reminds me of trying to nurse my son the one time I tried covering up. You know I'll be NIP when its needed!!

  • Excellent — and amusing!

I'll keep saying it: It's a baby, a boob, and a meal. If you can't handle seeing those three things, how do you function in the world, and have you considered seeing a psychiatrist?

  • BTW, you have an adorable little one :D

  • ROFL!! That was great and reminded me of the times I tried in vain to cover any of my daughters while nursing. lol

  • YEAH!! If people are offending by seeing a baby feeding they should put a blanket over THEIR head. My son and I nurse wherever and we have never, ever had one iota of bother. I hope I have given another mother or two the confidence that breastfeeding in public is not going to bring social disapproval raining down on her

  • THANK YOU. Boobs are for nursing. We have been trained to see them as sexual organs. They serve that function too, but so do ears. If my child whispers in my ear, does it arouse you so that you're offended at my letting you see it? What about mouths? Hands? I don't advocate being flippant about showing body parts, but if nursing babies always have to be hidden so no adolescent boys get aroused, what's going to help them realize that boobs DO have another, MAIN, function? When will the cycle end?

  • @GerardLuver777 so wile people are walking around in skimpy clothes and bikinis that cover just about as much as a pair of band-aids mothers have to have a blanket? Baby's head covers more then a lot of the new shirts you can buy AND ITS WHAT THERE THEIR FOR! baby's and mothers shouldn't have to suffer just because horny men sexulized them and don't want to share with an innocent child

  • @katieroos I hate seeing whores wearing skimpy clothes too, i think all of those things should be done in the privacy of your home, not in public where people could be offended

  • My son from about 2 months of age REFUSED to be covered. Just outright refused. I even had one of those covers with the strap around the neck. He practically STRANGLED me with it at the mall once, and that was the end of that. We proudly nurse in public now, and we go out a few times a week so we do it A LOT.

  • Exactly why I don't cover! (Both because I'm not self conscious about it so I'm happy to be the person normalizing it, and because there is no way my son would take a blanket over his head!)

Thanks for the great video, I hope it inspires some more women (and maybe even some dads to support moms too!).

  • I LOVE it!!!

  • This is great...and shows just how much MORE annoying, uncomfortable and attention getting a blanket on a baby's head iS! JUST FEED YOUR BABY...ignorant onlookers are the ones who are offensive.
