If you have trouble with frost trolls use fire poison znd a battle axe or war hammer of burning and only attack after it does I killed it in 3 hits. It hit me once

Lol I came here because I already knew about the 7000 steps, but thought this video was going to show me an even easier path. I can't believe there are so many people who didn't know about the staircase! Doesn't the mission that sends you up there give you a waypoint in Ivarstead to begin with? You can fast travel by carriage to any and all of the major cities at any point in the game even if you haven't been to them. Do that to get a shorter trip from the various regions to your destination.

The idiot(s) at Bethesda who came up with the idea of having a single, solitary, poorly marked route up a massive mountain should be shot! Wasted hours of my life trying to find this....precious hours that would have been better wasted elsewhere in Skyrim! Would programming a 2nd route up the mountain really have have been too much to ask??? Anyway, good guide mate - you saved me from giving up entirely on this quest thread!

ice troll is easy tho, equip double flame and nuke him hard. You probably already have the push back dragon spell when he comes close push him back and roast him. Keep walking backwards.
