I love the hater morons comments, it just shows how uneducated and completely clueless they are. 5000 pythons but over 500,000 feral pigs ... which do you think do more damage? Not that I'm against removing them from the everglades, they don't belong there. Concentrate on the problem in the world, impose steps to insure owners are responsible and let it go.
@Inquisitor53 Yeah I support you 100% these Nitwits wannabe snake charmers for got their balls in the vice of doom aka the Federal Government. By the way my Gator Rufus just loves ground python burgers. Hey what happened to all the online Snake Stores that said by a Python before it to late. I'll bet they will have Black Market Pythons and what happened to the song The Repilte Express?
@LottoWinner999 I imagine the reptile shops that depended so heavily on python sales have closed their doors, in Florida anyway. Good. Better they lose the money than Florida lose it's ecosystem to an invasive species. Within a week I'll be in the western 'glades with family, friends, & my daughter's tayra, decapitating & skinning more females (the tayra loves the eggs, could be why she's been honing in on them mostly, leaving most of the males alone). Spring is the best hunting time for her...
@Inquisitor53 To all Python owner if yuz want to gets rid of yo Pythons bring to my shak in zee everglade + I will disposz of dem for U. Rufus my 17 foot pet gator has grown anuder foot with his diet of Pet-Pythons. Of coursz we donts waste nuthin + we skinz em alive before feeding dem to Rufus. He just luvs eatin Pythons + dem owners to. On dark night Rufus wuz on patrol + he cauts a Python owner releasing a Python + I says getem Rufus + he ates both of dem + he had big smile + winked his eye.
@Inquisitor53 ... She can smell female python in heat several 100 yards away with the right wind. It's why we circle the hammocks, if they're there she will find them, along with lots of males. Then it's to hell with the machetes, break out the shotguns and save the blades for the survivors! At that point the top priority is elimination of the species, the skins we can always get off others. One way or another, we will make them extinct in Florida!
FL Gov. Charlie Crist has sign into law the banning of several species of large pythons (FINALLY!). IMO it's too little & too late so what else is one to do during a Florida winter but head down to the 'glades & decapitate, skin, & hack up pythons into bite size bits for the NATIVE predators to feed on? That, and let my daughter's pet tayra dine on the developing eggs that WERE inside the pregnant females. Maybe that's why we got so many females last year.
@petsnakes1 Well you didn't do a damn thing to help your cause, like remove them from the 'glades. So would your dad have preferred 100s of thousands of pythons loose in the 'glades, destroying a unique ecosystem or our govt doing what it can to pick up the slack because you and your ilk were too damn lazy & too self-involved to get off your asses to be a part of the solution instead of part of the problem? Yeah, I bet he'd be real proud of your lazy inconsiderate ass!
Yes, the bill has been narrowed down to include only 9 species. However, several species of large, aggressive constrictors have been left out in favor of more common smaller species. I'm ok with Florida passing new laws, but here in MO, none of these snakes could survive a winter. Furthermore, with the harsh winter that Florida had this year, the python problem has taken care of itself, at least for now. Like he said, "Once it begins, it will never stop!" Don't let it begin!
you guys don't seem to get it that S373 is only banning the large pythons such as the boa constrictor and green anaconda. It is banning 9 snakes. So you probably don't have to worry about your ball python.
@dopson21 how have boa constrictors negatively affected wildlife anywhere in the U.S? Boa constrictors are extremely popular and one of the most common pet snakes too
I have a corn and a ball python i can see the larger pythons getting taken out but as far as the smaller ones whats the point? Im hoping they reconsider at least letting ball pythons still being allowed in the reptile trade because that and corns are the staple of the industry.
These snakes are put into the wild by owners who were at one time "responsible", then one day its too big and responsibility is too big a hassle. And some by freaks who actually want the things to take over the everglades, A ban is coming and you have no one to blame but your "responsible" fellow pet owners. So quit bitching about people who try to deal with the problem while you have your selfish heads in the sand. You're almost as stupid as the dopes with the chimps.
It's a sad day in America when responsible pet owners are being treated like criminals. Just because of a few irresponsible people, the rest of us have to suffer.
@Inquisitor53- You are entitle to your opinion and absolutley entitled to do what you feel is necessary to save the Glades. But posting your kill count as a comment on a snake lover's video just shows that you are a prick.
You like dogs?? Mike Vick should've posted his kill count for you!
You like people? Osama bin Laden should keep you posted on his efforts.
We love our pets, and no matter how self-righteous you are, you are clearly only on this video to start trouble.
Something has to be done about the exotic flora & fauna invading & overrunning Florida.
I don't give a damn if it's plants or animals, if it's in the florida wilds & it isn't native I'm gouing to do my best in drastically lowering their numbers.
I just wish somebody would've bothered getting up & removing them live before it became a serious enough issue that I felt it necessary for me to step in to do my part in saving the Everglades.
You python lovers had YEARS to do something about live removal but did nothing. I offered my guiding services (for free!) to folks a few years back to assist you in your efforts. Instead all I got was apathy and/or derision. FINE! I told you all what was about to occur if nothing was done about your feral 'pets'. Still you did nothing. FINE! Then when you realized I wasn't bullshitting & began the slaughter in earnest I was still given hell. FINE!
I'm not a boa collector but do feel for you guys who do right and have heart and soul for it. But, user Naga7206 say's "Bill Nelson is a fuck!" Don't take this the wrong way but the focus should be on the "Fucks" who are letting them go becuase they are bored with them or can't take care of them once they get a certain size. That's were the prolbem lies and has caused this S373 Ban.Hope it works for the best and your Right, I thought this was the U.S.A. were we had "RIGHTS" good luck..
Im really sad for you guys over their your known worldwide as the "land of the free!" and if this bill is driven in, which judging by the "MUFFDADDY" vid I just saw it could well get in this time.
I really feel for you all, seriously
I love all Pythons and wont to breed Bloods.
Now if a great land as yours takes away your liberties like this, its sets a dangerous pretext to do it elsewhere.
There is no need to ban all pythons every. Why don't they just limit what you can own in FL? Worst case scenario should be you need a permit to own pythons.
come on r u serious about this law bc i just bought two females and thy rele cool my 5 yaer old brther holds them and loves them plz dont pass the law
im making a vid soon i actually got to stand in front of my state government and show off my herps i showed mainly hatchling ball pythons i brung in a large female ball python and even gotafew to handle them i gave a presentation on how nice ALL pythons are my friend brung in burmese python (7 feet long) and Lt gov to hold it!!!! KEEP FIGHTING HERPERS
What they need to realize is that by making pythons illegal they are destroying 1/3 of the NARBC! a MULTIBILLION DOLLAR AMERICAN ORGANIZATION!!! they just don't realize! i think that they should have large snake restrictions in the everglades, but a few irresponsible pet owners should not inflict on our ability to love our pets! it's just bull shit!
FYI: I killed 32 pythons down in the 'glades last weekend. The dead were not part of the official tally because all the red tape but I still had fun decapitating the invaders. Don't like it? Then stop me. Please try...
Yeah for some reason I dont see you having the balls to even get near one. Besides lets see this evidence of you killing that many because I really doubt you could when they only legally allowed a very select few people to hunt them down. These people were very experienced with those snakes and with reptile husbandry and behaviors. So for me to believe you isnt going to happen. Plus there are more people here in florida that own reptiles than there are that don't so good luck with your voting.
Um my last sentence isnt bullshit. YOu not providing any evidence proves to me that you arent doing a damn thing and are just some cranky ass person trying to be all tough. No proof and no one believes you. You are the one crying about all of this. I could care less that they are there. To me it is survival of the fittest and there is no way you can get rid of 100,000 plus of these things if there really is that many. They are masters of camouflage so i doubt an idiot like you can find them.
Your words peter: "...there are more people here in florida that own reptiles than there are that don't...".
I got no problem with native reptiles but exotics don't belong. Since that is the topic of discussion I stand by statement that your last sentence is bullshit.
I ain't cryin' over shit. You're the one that started in on me boo-hooing about my killing pythons. Again, tough shit. You say you don't give a shit where they are so apparently you don't give a shit about the 'glades either.
Tough? Yeah, & smart too. I forage the the florida wilds as well as wildcraft. You even know what those two words mean? How much & what part(s) of gumbo-limbo does one use for for hemo-toxic snakebite? How much & what part(s) of jamaican dogwood does one use to ease the pain from a neuro-toxic snakebite? Of what use are mallows?
I know enough to live of the land & do it well. Being born & raised in the state's swamps I know a hellova lot more of Florida's ecosystem than you ever will.
You know what the biggest non native invader in the US is? Non native plants. Know what the biggest non native invader in the US is? Non native fish. yet noone crying to ban fish or plants, yet this bill take a broad stroke on over 40 species of pythons..most of which do not exceed 6 feet. This bill is too broad, and uses sensationalism instead of real science to make it's points.
Yes, I kill all of them too. In fact at my local state park I eliminate all exotic aquatics throughout it's entire 3 miles of river on park property. I kill hogs & leave them for the buzzards (except those under 100 lbs. those I put in the smokehouse).
Yeah. I kill all types of invaders, both flora & fauna. Yet folks here don't want to hear about my killing other invaders, just the pythons. That way they can keep fueling & venting their resentment without looking at the issue through my eyes.
Yeah! How dare I try to eliminate an invasive species that's destroying a native ecosystem! You ought to see what I do with wild taro, water hycinth, caesar weed, air potatoes, feral hogs, armadillos, etc.
An invader is an invader, period. If it don't belong in Florida I kill it. How dare I!
So are you more offended by my sense of environmentalism or the fact you're too damn lazy to have gotten off your sorry-ass to try to even save some of those pythons when you had the chance? How dare I?!
See: You could've came to the 'glades & pick one up for free! Still can. Plenty of them still out there. Just paddle & pole a canoe for a few days to the nearest hammocks on a cool45*f day and start looking, if you know what you're doing.
But seriously dude, I got a great life & careers I love.
I make my money from guiding canoe tours & instructing survival courses in the Florida wilds. Fresh seafood, game, foraged flora make up 50+% of my diet. I wildcraft 60% of what remedies I might need.
So, you know nothing of the Everglades or it's ecosystems & yet you would have an ecosystem wrecked than have destructive invaders (burms for one) decapitated in order to save it.
It wasn't my life story you ignorant trollup, I was trying to educate you on the subject matter of invasive species & why I know what I know about it. Quite mentally two-dimenional aren't you? You're all height & width but absolutely NO DEPTH! Come back when you learn to have a mature discussion, Skank!
You jump into a conversation that you haven't the mentality to comprehend but thought it cool to jump in my case anyway. Following the crowd aren't you? That's so typical of an empty-headed skank. I guess that's why you gave yourself the moniker of 'untouchableism', So low in class no one wants to touch you. How fitting!
I respect that, but banning ALL pythons, when only a few are actually harmful to the fauna of the everglades is an overeaction pushed by the Animal Rights actitivists who feel that ANY pet ownership is wrong. There is no comparision between a 12 foot Burm, and a 4 foot Ball Python. Most of us agree that the dangerous giant species should be restricted, the problem is the old slippery slop rule. Once the got their foot in the door, they take way more than they need. Typical politics.
BTW, this ban won't save your everglades sir. What will is allowing people like yourself, and other hunters to destroy non natives when they find them. Nothing does a better job of erradicating a species than humans when they are allowed to hunt them in a confined space.
Also this isn't a ban against breeding, it a ban against importing and interstate trade. Most people that i know will continue to produce these animals and sell them anyway, including myself. So how again is it helping?
I know the ban won't save the 'glades. Politicians screw up everything. They should never have been involved in the 1st place. But I agree with the rest of your 1st paragraph & wish more people would understand this.
I don't give a damn about the ban, too much red tape. Since I'm killing the feral ones (hello, does this python belong to any one? No? whack!) why's everybody on this thread so hostile to me doing my part in cleaning up the glades by destroying all invaders, including pythons?
They think you are against Pythons as pets from some of your earlier statements. The rpblem here is the responsible hobbiests, which is about 99% of the keepers, are your best friends in this fight. We all agree that somethign needs to be done, but banning all pet pythons, in all 40 subspeices, is not going to save the everglades. It's going to help a guy keep himself in office based on the "general" fear that people have of snakes. Sneaky trick by one man to stay in office. Sickening.
BladeXist: No, I'm not into killing pets but I'm deadset against people who won't bother getting off their asses to remove the burms (for free) & give them to a good home, yet bitch at me for eradicating an invasive species that's wrecking havoc on one of the world's most unique environmental systems!
How many times have I posted here & on other channels that if people come rescue them I wouldn't have to kill near as many? Response? Nothing but hate for trying to save the 'Glades!
The only dang reason that girl got kiiled was because SOMEONE wasnt being responsible! Pythons are inoccent creatures!! I am a future python owner and I will do whatever it takes to STOP this!!
Screw the govt! They're dragging their feet on the issue & & want the iradication done piec-meal. screw that! With an estimated 150, 000 pythons now in south Florida (Outdoor Life, Oct. issue, pg. 8) I've called most of the legislators & told them I'll soon be slaughtering every python I find in the glades.I know of their habits, how & on what their feeding (mostly our endangered wildlife), & where they're going to be seeking shelter on cold, wet & cloudy days when they will be too cold to move.
They will be at our mercy but we will show them none. I have their number. I will turn their world into a living HELL! We crybabies are worried about your 'pets'. My Everglades trumps your 'pets'. The legislators now know that this is one native-born Floridian who wants ALL exotic snakes banned & I damn sure not alone in this. the also know (because I reminded them) if they want to keep their cushy jobs in Tallahassee they better listen to the voters or come the next election they're out!
So who do you think they're going to listen to? Exotic snake owners that are only worried about their 'pets' that haven't done a damn thing to get off their asses to help remove the problem or Florida voters worried about the the only ecosystem like it in the world is in their state & are going to vote them out of office if they don't pass the bill? Now if you were a politician wanting to keep your cushy job who the hell would you listen to? Let's see...
"A few thousand exotic snake owners or MILLIONS of voters giving me the boot from my cushy job if I vote against them?" Uh... No brainer!
Some of us are going to sit on the steps of the capital making sure our voices are heard & hand out leaflets to all the voting members that will be voting that day on bill S373. Say good bye to a lot of the pythons in the glades, then say good bye to ALL your exotic snakes. We voters have had enough of the exotics being turned loose in our state! NO MORE!
@Inquisitor53 Hate to think about all those snakes dying but that is not their natural habitat. Aggressive actions like what you are talking about might just be the only way to get them out of the everglades, only on a much larger scale. Banning reptiles from the pet trade wont take care of the problem.
You seriously need to go fuck yourself. I am a native born floridian and I have several reptiles. Banning snakes isnt going to solve a god damn thing. And your little itty bitty threat isnt going to sway them to favor you. Its a few of you guys against the reptile nation. So good luck with that leaflet idea of yours. Anyways it is hurricanes that released most of the pythons and to date only 37 have been caught in the everglades.
So i dont buy into the crap of 100,000 burms in there. And besides who the fuck are you or this government to decide what animals can stay here and what can't/ Survival of the fittest in the wild so what the fuck should you care about the animals in the glades? All the endangered species are endagered for a reason. They arent strong enough to survive. And you cant tell me that a 8 foot burm is going to wipe out a woodland rat population. They are too fucking small to be a snack.
So get your head out of your ass and worry about more things that dont concern you. The chance of you getting injured by a wild snake is slim to none. You would win the lottery before a burm attacked you. So stop being some fucking pussy who is afraid of snakes and do something productive for society other than trying to destroy a 3 billion dollar a year industry.
This concerns me far more than it does you! I'm partaking in the saving of an ecosystem. You being a crybaby over one INVASIVE species shows just how self-centered you really are.
Me afraid of snakes? Shit boy, I got more cottonmouths on my property than any amount of pythons you own.
Fuck society! I'm helping to save something far more important than an egotistical, narrow-minded society; I, & a few others, are trying to save a rare ecosystem.
Pussy? You scared little piece of chicken-shit! I don't see you out here tromping through the 'glades. Yeah, you care sooo much about the burms but are too chicken-shit to come down here to the 'glades & rescue at least a few of them! So what are you afraid of to keep you from coming to the 'glades & rescueing a few? Scared some other plant or animal is gonna get your ass? That's possible but if you TRULY love the burms it's worth risking your life over, right? No? Well so much for your love!
Yes! I'm back! I'm sending you a news-flash. Thanks to the really cold temps here iguanas & monitors are falling out of the trees. This past week alone I've decapitated 72 iguanas & 53 monitors.
And the burms! We brought out the hunting dogs in 8 boats. Sniffed them right out! Just lying there, immobile, trying to hide in the leaf-litter in the hammocks & mounds. Brought the kids along to show them what they'll need to be doing in their future. Casualties in 3 days: humans=0. pythons=283!
Talk about fun & education at the same time! The kids learned the power of the human mind. Tactics & strategy, timing, logistics, study of prey/enemy & their instincts, the use of dogs, the tools to kill with, etc. They had fun with the machetes!
They also learned under the right conditions killing near-frozen burms is far more fun & profitable than pulling up exotic plants!
Gotta go. I wake up the kids in an hour for another fun invader-killing weekend. Y'all have fun, I know we will!
btw...Busy day tomorrow. Sadly, I leave here Monday pm as the weather should warm up enough to continue my canoe tours for another week or so before the next really heavy cold front hits and we have at them again.
Uhhh, the SENATE is the body that CREATES all proposed bills. The HOUSE approves them to go to the President.
As the Arlington situation shows, this is a STATE'S RIGHTS thing, and is not something that the Fed has any business controlling (like drug use, etc, *shudder*).
Pythons are not a problem in Oregon (my home) like they are in Florida. When one got lost near my home, neighbors were calmed by the fact that the snake would not last more than a week in this climate.
hey muff ive ben keeping updates on the python bill since i live in flroida and now they have change the bill to where only the bermis and african rock python are to be banned since they are the only invasive pythons... but the house has to vote on it now this up coming weekend and we have the support of both senators woot!!! so i hope oh yea check out my new videos i got a pastel ball python let me kno wat u think of her>? ^_^
These bills are do not make sense. illegalizing ALL pythons does not help anyone. Who is in danger of getting killed/hurt by a ball or rosy pythons? What are they REALLY trying to do? Do these guys really have nothing better to do? Where are they trying to get at? What is they purpose of illegalizing all exotic animals?
@MUFFDADDYTV does this only count for florida? cuz in ohio we have 4 seasons and all the large reptiles live in very warm weather ,therfor the reptiles would die when winter came around
take a look at how many crazy laws we have that make next to no sense and ask yourself: where is the common sense and logic? seems to me like it's been erased in D.C. and NO ONE in congress read the entire stimulus bill, yet they passed it. where's the logic there?
one little incident occurs, and our government moves into action to make a law that would prevent that scenario from happening again. the most stupid place in the USA is in the government. i mean, come on! how likely is that a Burmese Python will get you? very low. and i mean VERY with a capital VERY. this sounds like some thing for some SNL material
Its not even irresponsible people, if you go over a 10 yeah period, over 2000 people die from HORSES. to where only 5 people die from all constrictor type snakes. (retics, ball, burmese etc) ALL pythons. kill fractions of people a year when LIGHTNING kills almost 20.
Yes, it very well could. But as long as irresponsible people in the hobby do the wrong thing it will never end either. If given the choice between having rules and regulations to own the larger snakes or being told I CAN'T own one at all, I would rather have the former. But you are right that ever reptile owner needs to do his part to prvent this from happening ever again.
Maybe...but a lot of harm has been done to this hobby already. By some of the people who are in it. If this bill is stopped...cool...all good for now. Untill the next time some idiot cause it to start up again. Oh well..wait and see what will happen next.
Maybe...maybe not. If this bill is stopped...good. Untill something else happens to start it up again. Hopefully...something like what happened in FL with that little girl getting killed by the Retic won't ever happen again. Like you said...as long as everyone is a responsible snake owner, things like this won't happen. But all it takes is just one person to ruin it all for everyone else.
Juggalo10p . Burms are also good pets if kept responsibly. You make it sound that burms are bad (apologies if its not what you meant). I blame the owner, its a burm for god sake, why was it in an aquarium? They need a well constructed viv. KILL THE PEDO'S LEAVE THE SNAKES ALONE
one person affects the whole nation. that has happened too many times, and not in good ways. however, this trick can be used to the benefit of America, such as clairvoyance in food processing
But it is the few who are punishing us by causing this to happen. Without regulation to control them, we will lose the hobby one day. Better to to control the few who need it than take everything away from everyone. That is just how I feel about it.
But not everyone does that Nick. You said that towning a reptile is just like owning a gun. There are laws and regulations to own a gun. There should be some kind of regulation to own the larger snakes. I agree with you that they shouldn't be banned totally. That is unfair to you and me and everyone that takes good care of their snakes. But something needs to be done to stop the ones who won't do the right thing. I understand about you not wanting to be controled by anyone, so I respect you ok?
pretty much the same laws for guns govern snakes, if your neglgence with a gun or snake causes someone to be put in fear or hurt your responscible. I was sent a video of a 18 year old kid saying he think this is a good idea, this kid has zero idea how rhe US goverment works, the senate, the house, the exec, judical, leg, branch, checks and balances..the bottom line is once you begin to go down that road with regulation chipping, banning, permits, it never ends. we can NOT punish all for a few
So...I guess your solution is to do nothing. Keep everything the same so more people who can't or won't take proper care of the larger snakes but will keep getting them. Causing even more harm to the hobby with every escaped snake, release into the wild, and yes, deaths. Of both people and the snakes. Doing that is just as bad as banning the snakes, Nick. Something needs to be done to get it back under control. True, a ban won't fix it. But what will?
SO..you guessed wrong, thats not my solution, my solution is for us all to do our part and be responcible keepers. trying to control a group of people is what a dictatorship is comprised off, or in the US what democrats believe in. Big goverment, if you watched my last video you would see that i say, we are the only ones that can make us loose our hobby, and if we all do our part to be carefull then they will stop proposing anti-reptile bills. not punish everyone.
The bill probalby wont go through, but there needs to be some regulation because this will keep happening if there is no way to control the purchasing of such large snakes.
I did watch the other video. Yes...bad keepers are hurting the hobby. But something has to be done to get the problem under control. I'm all for microchiping them. That way if they escape they are easily found again. Doing an outright ban of them won't solve the problem, but stricter rules and regulation can make it where only the people who can care and house these large snakes get them. Doing nothing about it will just hurt the hobby even further.
I really don't want to get into a pointless debate about poltics, Nick. I'm just saying don't blame the goverment for doing something because of what some irresponible keepers have caused. But let me ask you this, what do YOU think needs to be done to bring this problem of people who try to own these large snakes who can't or won't take proper care under control?
im the very video beforr this i explain that the only people that can mak us loose our hobby is us by being careless. taking away our pets or micro chipping them is wrong and too controling. im not arguing but i am of course letting you know the truth about democrats, they want to take away our guns, reptiles, religion, health care choice, a child right to life (abortion). historically dems have always saught to take away more freedom and republicans give it back.please catch my previous vid
You can't blame this on the Democrats. After what happened in Florida with that little girl being killed by a retic, the senator could have been Republican and still suggested something like this. Put the blame where it belongs, the irresponible keepers that allow things like this to happen.
I currently own 3 snakes that fall into the "big 5" category. Are you saying its no big deal some of my pets might be banned?
Ugh if we started killing off peoples dogs there would be some serious uprising. Even if it were only say, Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, and evil Chihuahuas.
not yet, but even one is tooo much to give up, we are responcible keepers and shoudl nto have to give up our rights, plus it could easily be amended at any point to include all pythons, once you start giving, they dont stop taking.
liscense or something(much like they do for venomous here in Florida), aswell as enforcing that by going one step further and making sure pet stores verify it.. By doing so should limit the availability of "dangerous" reptiles to those who actually have a passion strong enough to spend the time it takes to get a liscense/registration/chips etc for thier snakes.. Should also make them want to keep thier snake secure. Ultimately limiting the chances of another Oxford.
Erg, I knew somthing was gonna spark after the incident in Oxford.. Honestly, as as snake owner I feel this bill is absloute BS.. And being a floridian I feel even more in the crosshair then I did in 669.. I had no complaints with the registering and chipping of large constrictors(I have a burm aswell) But this is outrageous... As far as I'm concerned they need to just make a bill stating that anyone who wishes to purchase a snake larger then (Enter size) needs to have a (continued)
The large species of python is what alot of people own and breed for a living. Retics are an unbelievable snake with endless genetic patterns and colors.Alot more people have retics and this bill effects them
muffdaddy im not here to criticise or make you look bad but i really think that you should read the bill it self take a look at cavajasons video he posted about s373 and what he said is true i agree with what he is saying it makes a lot of sense. But this ban is not for all pythons but is actually for all the large species of pythons such as the burmese etc.
any python is too much, do you know what AMEND means? it can easy be amended to have wording for any python, like i said, once they start they dont stop.
thats would be a great idea, mention how this is the same tyope of snake that had the incient in florida, then mention youe a good keeper and this snake will nto get the chance to harm a innocent
why take away our right to keep herps as pets? You need to legestate the ownership. I own 2 six foot iguanas that are extremely docile, but I am always aware of the fact that they are a wild animal. Make it the law that if you want to own a reptile, you need to take a class and pay $5 a year for the right to own one. I would love to pay that, especially if the money went to education

Inquisitor53 1 year ago

My dad hated snakes but he'd be rolling over in his grave if he knew about this. He hated government intrusion more than anything else.
petsnakes1 1 year ago
@petsnakes1 Well you didn't do a damn thing to help your cause, like remove them from the 'glades. So would your dad have preferred 100s of thousands of pythons loose in the 'glades, destroying a unique ecosystem or our govt doing what it can to pick up the slack because you and your ilk were too damn lazy & too self-involved to get off your asses to be a part of the solution instead of part of the problem? Yeah, I bet he'd be real proud of your lazy inconsiderate ass!
Inquisitor53 1 year ago
Yes, the bill has been narrowed down to include only 9 species. However, several species of large, aggressive constrictors have been left out in favor of more common smaller species. I'm ok with Florida passing new laws, but here in MO, none of these snakes could survive a winter. Furthermore, with the harsh winter that Florida had this year, the python problem has taken care of itself, at least for now. Like he said, "Once it begins, it will never stop!" Don't let it begin!

If you love America and our precious unique wildlife we need to get rid of them befor they take over.

you guys don't seem to get it that S373 is only banning the large pythons such as the boa constrictor and green anaconda. It is banning 9 snakes. So you probably don't have to worry about your ball python.

You like dogs?? Mike Vick should've posted his kill count for you!
You like people? Osama bin Laden should keep you posted on his efforts.
We love our pets, and no matter how self-righteous you are, you are clearly only on this video to start trouble.

I got no problem with responsible pet owners.
Inquisitor53 2 years ago
You python lovers had YEARS to do something about live removal but did nothing. I offered my guiding services (for free!) to folks a few years back to assist you in your efforts. Instead all I got was apathy and/or derision. FINE! I told you all what was about to occur if nothing was done about your feral 'pets'. Still you did nothing. FINE! Inquisitor53 2 years ago
PeterSteele111 2 years ago
Yeah, you don't see a lot of things & you ain't seen nothing yet.
I don't give a damn if it's legal or not, I'm killing invaders so go cry somewhere else.
I don't give a shit what you believe.
Your last sentence is bullshit.

Inquisitor53 2 years ago
Um my last sentence isnt bullshit. YOu not providing any evidence proves to me that you arent doing a damn thing and are just some cranky ass person trying to be all tough. No proof and no one believes you. You are the one crying about all of this. I could care less that they are there. To me it is survival of the fittest and there is no way you can get rid of 100,000 plus of these things if there really is that many. They are masters of camouflage so i doubt an idiot like you can find them.
PeterSteele111 2 years ago
Your words peter: "...there are more people here in florida that own reptiles than there are that don't...".
I got no problem with native reptiles but exotics don't belong. Since that is the topic of discussion I stand by statement that your last sentence is bullshit.
I ain't cryin' over shit. You're the one that started in on me boo-hooing about my killing pythons. Again, tough shit. You say you don't give a shit where they are so apparently you don't give a shit about the 'glades either.
Inquisitor53 2 years ago
Inquisitor53 2 years ago
You know what the biggest non native invader in the US is? Non native plants. Know what the biggest non native invader in the US is? Non native fish. yet noone crying to ban fish or plants, yet this bill take a broad stroke on over 40 species of pythons..most of which do not exceed 6 feet. This bill is too broad, and uses sensationalism instead of real science to make it's points.
zx7trev 2 years ago
Yes, I kill all of them too. In fact at my local state park I eliminate all exotic aquatics throughout it's entire 3 miles of river on park property. I kill hogs & leave them for the buzzards (except those under 100 lbs. those I put in the smokehouse).
Yeah. I kill all types of invaders, both flora & fauna. Yet folks here don't want to hear about my killing other invaders, just the pythons. That way they can keep fueling & venting their resentment without looking at the issue through my eyes.

Inquisitor53 2 years ago
I respect that, but banning ALL pythons, when only a few are actually harmful to the fauna of the everglades is an overeaction pushed by the Animal Rights actitivists who feel that ANY pet ownership is wrong. There is no comparision between a 12 foot Burm, and a 4 foot Ball Python. Most of us agree that the dangerous giant species should be restricted, the problem is the old slippery slop rule. Once the got their foot in the door, they take way more than they need. Typical politics.
zx7trev 2 years ago
BTW, this ban won't save your everglades sir. What will is allowing people like yourself, and other hunters to destroy non natives when they find them. Nothing does a better job of erradicating a species than humans when they are allowed to hunt them in a confined space.
Also this isn't a ban against breeding, it a ban against importing and interstate trade. Most people that i know will continue to produce these animals and sell them anyway, including myself. So how again is it helping?
zx7trev 2 years ago
I know the ban won't save the 'glades. Politicians screw up everything. They should never have been involved in the 1st place. But I agree with the rest of your 1st paragraph & wish more people would understand this.
I don't give a damn about the ban, too much red tape. Since I'm killing the feral ones (hello, does this python belong to any one? No? whack!) why's everybody on this thread so hostile to me doing my part in cleaning up the glades by destroying all invaders, including pythons?
Inquisitor53 2 years ago
They think you are against Pythons as pets from some of your earlier statements. The rpblem here is the responsible hobbiests, which is about 99% of the keepers, are your best friends in this fight. We all agree that somethign needs to be done, but banning all pet pythons, in all 40 subspeices, is not going to save the everglades. It's going to help a guy keep himself in office based on the "general" fear that people have of snakes. Sneaky trick by one man to stay in office. Sickening.

Inquisitor53 2 years ago
They will be at our mercy but we will show them none. I have their number. I will turn their world into a living HELL! We crybabies are worried about your 'pets'. My Everglades trumps your 'pets'. The legislators now know that this is one native-born Floridian who wants ALL exotic snakes banned & I damn sure not alone in this. the also know (because I reminded them) if they want to keep their cushy jobs in Tallahassee they better listen to the voters or come the next election they're out!
Inquisitor53 2 years ago
So who do you think they're going to listen to? Exotic snake owners that are only worried about their 'pets' that haven't done a damn thing to get off their asses to help remove the problem or Florida voters worried about the the only ecosystem like it in the world is in their state & are going to vote them out of office if they don't pass the bill? Now if you were a politician wanting to keep your cushy job who the hell would you listen to? Let's see...
Inquisitor53 2 years ago
"A few thousand exotic snake owners or MILLIONS of voters giving me the boot from my cushy job if I vote against them?" Uh... No brainer!
Some of us are going to sit on the steps of the capital making sure our voices are heard & hand out leaflets to all the voting members that will be voting that day on bill S373. Say good bye to a lot of the pythons in the glades, then say good bye to ALL your exotic snakes. We voters have had enough of the exotics being turned loose in our state! NO MORE!
Inquisitor53 2 years ago
@Inquisitor53 Hate to think about all those snakes dying but that is not their natural habitat. Aggressive actions like what you are talking about might just be the only way to get them out of the everglades, only on a much larger scale. Banning reptiles from the pet trade wont take care of the problem.
James42785 2 years ago
You seriously need to go fuck yourself. I am a native born floridian and I have several reptiles. Banning snakes isnt going to solve a god damn thing. And your little itty bitty threat isnt going to sway them to favor you. Its a few of you guys against the reptile nation. So good luck with that leaflet idea of yours. Anyways it is hurricanes that released most of the pythons and to date only 37 have been caught in the everglades.
PeterSteele111 2 years ago
So i dont buy into the crap of 100,000 burms in there. And besides who the fuck are you or this government to decide what animals can stay here and what can't/ Survival of the fittest in the wild so what the fuck should you care about the animals in the glades? All the endangered species are endagered for a reason. They arent strong enough to survive. And you cant tell me that a 8 foot burm is going to wipe out a woodland rat population. They are too fucking small to be a snack.
PeterSteele111 2 years ago
So get your head out of your ass and worry about more things that dont concern you. The chance of you getting injured by a wild snake is slim to none. You would win the lottery before a burm attacked you. So stop being some fucking pussy who is afraid of snakes and do something productive for society other than trying to destroy a 3 billion dollar a year industry.
PeterSteele111 2 years ago
This concerns me far more than it does you! I'm partaking in the saving of an ecosystem. You being a crybaby over one INVASIVE species shows just how self-centered you really are.
Me afraid of snakes? Shit boy, I got more cottonmouths on my property than any amount of pythons you own.
Fuck society! I'm helping to save something far more important than an egotistical, narrow-minded society; I, & a few others, are trying to save a rare ecosystem.
Inquisitor53 2 years ago
Inquisitor53 2 years ago
Yes!
Inquisitor53 2 years ago
Talk about fun & education at the same time! The kids learned the power of the human mind. Tactics & strategy, timing, logistics, study of prey/enemy & their instincts, the use of dogs, the tools to kill with, etc. They had fun with the machetes!
They also learned under the right conditions killing near-frozen burms is far more fun & profitable than pulling up exotic plants!
Gotta go. I wake up the kids in an hour for another fun invader-killing weekend. Y'all have fun, I know we will!

But you are right that ever reptile owner needs to do his part to prvent this from happening ever again.
Dread1318 2 years ago
i understadn your concern, and on the surface it woulod seem like a good idea except, mark my words, ONCE you begin down that path, it DOES NOT end.
MUFFDADDYTV 2 years ago
Maybe...but a lot of harm has been done to this hobby already. By some of the people who are in it. If this bill is stopped...cool...all good for now. Untill the next time some idiot cause it to start up again. Oh well..wait and see what will happen next.
Dread1318 2 years ago
Maybe...maybe not. If this bill is stopped...good. Untill something else happens to start it up again. Hopefully...something like what happened in FL with that little girl getting killed by the Retic won't ever happen again. Like you said...as long as everyone is a responsible snake owner, things like this won't happen. But all it takes is just one person to ruin it all for everyone else.
Dread1318 2 years ago
it wasnt a retic that killed the girl it was a burm. please get it right, retics are good creatures if properly kept.
Juggalo10p 2 years ago
Sorry, my mistake. It was a Burm.
Dread1318 2 years ago
Juggalo10p . Burms are also good pets if kept responsibly. You make it sound that burms are bad (apologies if its not what you meant). I blame the owner, its a burm for god sake, why was it in an aquarium? They need a well constructed viv. KILL THE PEDO'S LEAVE THE SNAKES ALONE

one person affects the whole nation. that has happened too many times, and not in good ways. however, this trick can be used to the benefit of America, such as clairvoyance in food processing

does s373 include the banning of boa's? im getting a redtail soon and dont know if i cant get one :(

no large pythons, but bill can be amdended at anytime to include ANYTHING
MUFFDADDYTV 2 years ago
i am sorry but i am gonna go with the senet cause alot of people are erisponible and if this happens we should suggest permitts
cupidmyluv 2 years ago
it wont stop with permits though, just watch and wait
MUFFDADDYTV 2 years ago
But it is the few who are punishing us by causing this to happen. Without regulation to control them, we will lose the hobby one day. Better to to control the few who need it than take everything away from everyone. That is just how I feel about it.
Dread1318 2 years ago
thats is a dangerous road to go down, once you start it never ends
MUFFDADDYTV 2 years ago
But not everyone does that Nick. You said that towning a reptile is just like owning a gun. There are laws and regulations to own a gun. There should be some kind of regulation to own the larger snakes. I agree with you that they shouldn't be banned totally. That is unfair to you and me and everyone that takes good care of their snakes. But something needs to be done to stop the ones who won't do the right thing. I understand about you not wanting to be controled by anyone, so I respect you ok?
Dread1318 2 years ago
pretty much the same laws for guns govern snakes, if your neglgence with a gun or snake causes someone to be put in fear or hurt your responscible.
MUFFDADDYTV 2 years ago
So...I guess your solution is to do nothing. Keep everything the same so more people who can't or won't take proper care of the larger snakes but will keep getting them. Causing even more harm to the hobby with every escaped snake, release into the wild, and yes, deaths. Of both people and the snakes. Doing that is just as bad as banning the snakes, Nick. Something needs to be done to get it back under control. True, a ban won't fix it. But what will?
Dread1318 2 years ago
SO..you guessed wrong, thats not my solution, my solution is for us all to do our part and be responcible keepers. trying to control a group of people is what a dictatorship is comprised off, or in the US what democrats believe in. Big goverment, if you watched my last video you would see that i say, we are the only ones that can make us loose our hobby, and if we all do our part to be carefull then they will stop proposing anti-reptile bills. not punish everyone.
MUFFDADDYTV 2 years ago
The bill probalby wont go through, but there needs to be some regulation because this will keep happening if there is no way to control the purchasing of such large snakes.
SuperGJohnson 2 years ago
once you start down that dangerous road there is no going back!

Dread1318 2 years ago
I really don't want to get into a pointless debate about poltics, Nick. I'm just saying don't blame the goverment for doing something because of what some irresponible keepers have caused. But let me ask you this, what do YOU think needs to be done to bring this problem of people who try to own these large snakes who can't or won't take proper care under control?
Dread1318 2 years ago
im the very video beforr this i explain that the only people that can mak us loose our hobby is us by being careless. taking away our pets or micro chipping them is wrong and too controling. im not arguing but i am of course letting you know the truth about democrats, they want to take away our guns, reptiles, religion, health care choice, a child right to life (abortion). historically dems have always saught to take away more freedom and republicans give it back.please catch my previous vid
MUFFDADDYTV 2 years ago
You can't blame this on the Democrats. After what happened in Florida with that little girl being killed by a retic, the senator could have been Republican and still suggested something like this. Put the blame where it belongs, the irresponible keepers that allow things like this to happen.
Dread1318 2 years ago
ok, but ill tell you this, only democrats have proposed anti-reptile bills!! dems are for BIG goverment and control!
MUFFDADDYTV 2 years ago
yes but, when they find that out all they have to do it amend it to include that!!

MUFFDADDYTV 2 years ago
I currently own 3 snakes that fall into the "big 5" category. Are you saying its no big deal some of my pets might be banned?
Ugh if we started killing off peoples dogs there would be some serious uprising. Even if it were only say, Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, and evil Chihuahuas.

This...makes....me....RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!

its not all pythons, it is only the big five.
toast1234567 2 years ago
not yet, but even one is tooo much to give up, we are responcible keepers and shoudl nto have to give up our rights, plus it could easily be amended at any point to include all pythons, once you start giving, they dont stop taking.

True, True.

liscense or something(much like they do for venomous here in Florida), aswell as enforcing that by going one step further and making sure pet stores verify it.. By doing so should limit the availability of "dangerous" reptiles to those who actually have a passion strong enough to spend the time it takes to get a liscense/registration/chips etc for thier snakes.. Should also make them want to keep thier snake secure. Ultimately limiting the chances of another Oxford.
Xypetotec 2 years ago
Erg, I knew somthing was gonna spark after the incident in Oxford.. Honestly, as as snake owner I feel this bill is absloute BS.. And being a floridian I feel even more in the crosshair then I did in 669.. I had no complaints with the registering and chipping of large constrictors(I have a burm aswell) But this is outrageous... As far as I'm concerned they need to just make a bill stating that anyone who wishes to purchase a snake larger then (Enter size) needs to have a (continued)

The large species of python is what alot of people own and breed for a living. Retics are an unbelievable snake with endless genetic patterns and colors.Alot more people have retics and this bill effects them
retic36 2 years ago
Does anybody know any dates on when the bill will be voted on?
retic36 2 years ago
muffdaddy im not here to criticise or make you look bad but i really think that you should read the bill it self take a look at cavajasons video he posted about s373 and what he said is true i agree with what he is saying it makes a lot of sense. But this ban is not for all pythons but is actually for all the large species of pythons such as the burmese etc.
vaca129 2 years ago
any python is too much, do you know what AMEND means? it can easy be amended to have wording for any python, like i said, once they start they dont stop.
MUFFDADDYTV 2 years ago
should i make a video of my baby burmese python?
SuperGJohnson 2 years ago
thats would be a great idea, mention how this is the same tyope of snake that had the incient in florida, then mention youe a good keeper and this snake will nto get the chance to harm a innocent
MUFFDADDYTV 2 years ago
why take away our right to keep herps as pets? You need to legestate the ownership. I own 2 six foot iguanas that are extremely docile, but I am always aware of the fact that they are a wild animal. Make it the law that if you want to own a reptile, you need to take a class and pay $5 a year for the right to own one. I would love to pay that, especially if the money went to education
