  • one of the Stone's masterpieces

  • This is a great example of how they would "dub" pieces of music together. Simple, smart, effective, the three things missing today. Long live the Rolling Stones!

  • if you listen to it at the beginning and you hear that BUZZ for a split second, seems to be in the flexi itself

i just got a zip file copy online and it has the same effect

  • i read somewhere that the b side was a girl group doing fannie mae???

  • this is a flexidisc promo

    i read about it somewhere

there was another video of this somewhere

cant find it...need to find book! (and make video)

  • Does anyone has got the entire exile on main st blues?

  • i have that flexi,

  • i think it was on a free flexi that came with nme get it on ebay cheap

  • @rymanrebel Yes, NME ; I had it in 1972 but I didnt keep it well and it soon perished !

  • This song can also be found on "The Rolling Stones Tour Rehearsals 1972 - Whip's Crack and Tigers snarl" (The Swingin' Pig TSP-CD-272-2) from 2002.

  • Wow, dude, this is a rare thing you got there!!!! Thanks for sharing

  • @Doud92 it was on an nme flexi im pretty sure

  • after hearing this, oh now I see..."Exile On Main Street Blues" right?

  • THANK YOU I READ ABOUT THIS, but it said mick plays piano and introduces each track....ect...

  • ive got this somewhere. Is it worth anything?

  • Exile is am excellent example of spontaneous lyrics, outtakes and fragmentation of a great band, getting it together, amidst party, chaos and brilliance down in the sub of Nellcote. Thus , from scratch, later came vocals and lyrics, original

Sessions imparted uninhibited strokes of masterpieces,Brilliance...rock,spooky ambi-

    ance,country and staggering drunkenness of

    Melodies adrift. Dig it!

  • @UKRod

Weren't flexi discs ,just ONE side press affairs ?

From what I remember ,the other side was always blank.

Correct me if I'm drawing a blank here.

  • @PAULLONDEN This did have a second side.

  • @PAULLONDEN

    sometimes yes

    sometimes no

  • Love this. Just saw the documentary on the making of Exile which made me crave for a time machine to get back to that period of Rock 'n Roll. A time when music still mattered.

Hope the blues snippets are on the reissue in full glory.

btw I used to own the turntable in the video but forgot the brand name.

  • Wow, thanks for posting. Ive head numerous rare Stone Cuts live and Studio but never heard Exile Blues, thank you. By the way if you like youtube you better start reading about Internet2 and net neutrality.

  • WOW!

now i get why people love vinyl so much

the thing that strikes me most is the drums

it sounds WAY better on vinyl, so much more crisp

the beginning of tumbling dice.. those first couple drum notes jump out at you!

  • @gigan01 You must be using some bad equipment. Try a high-end system using the whole digital file. A CD, of example, with some good speakers and a strong amp. You can't seriously make a judgement like yours based on what you can hear on a YouTube file. On my digital system, it's like Charlie Watts is playing his drums in my living room.

  • sounds good but i don't know what the 1st track is called ? before all down the line !! top.....

  • Called Exile On Main St. Blues.

  • @steveconn cheers steve.....

  • good sound

    thank you

  • what thing on the b- side?

is this a 12 inck single?

  • I don't remember what was on the b-side, but it had nothing to do with the a-side.

  • @vinylWindsor please post b side

  • fantastic , thx

  • Thank you
